    I understand the Flamenco culture are from the Spanish Gypsies who have Indian ethnicities. You should take the opportunity while in Spain to explore their food as well.

    • @marekck
      @marekck Месяц назад +1

      Although the Spanish Gypsies have their origins in India, they invite us to reflect on the relationship between their culture and flamenco, that emblematic and profound art that is part of the soul of Spain. But is flamenco really the exclusive heritage of the Gypsies, and much less of India? The answer is much more complex than a simple label. However much a fallacy is repeated, it will never become true as long as there are people willing to illuminate it with the light of knowledge.
      Allow me to offer you two simple facts that challenge this common conception:
      If flamenco were an intrinsically Gypsy art, and were irremediably linked to India, then all the Gypsies in the world would be flamenco, which is far from the truth. In fact, except in the Spanish Gypsy communities, and in some cases in France and Portugal, not all Gypsies have flamenco roots. The cultural and geographical diversity of this people is vast, and their connection to flamenco is not universal.
      It is important to remember that the first gypsies arrived in Spain in the mid-15th century, crossing Valencian lands with the permission of King James II, on their way to Santiago. It was not until a few years later that it was definitively established in the country. On the other hand, the first known references to flamenco date back to the 13th century, long before the arrival of the gypsies to the Peninsula. And it is in this context that one of the most beautiful and profound musical traditions originates: a fusion of Andalusian, Sephardic (Jewish) and Moorish influences, whose richness goes back even further in time.
      To claim that flamenco is exclusively gypsy is not only wrong, but it shows cultural blindness or, worse still, a profound ignorance of the true history of this art. Flamenco is much more than a label: it is an amalgam of peoples, stories, traditions and emotions, which have converged to give it the form and soul that we know today. And it is in this diversity of influences where its true magic lies.
      It is also not true that the flamenco dress, or faralae, is gypsy, since it was the typical dress of the people, it became fashionable at parties and pilgrimages, and in the 19th century, it was adopted in flamenco by adding more ruffles to make it more striking on stage.

    spain is connected to portugal and portugal was the only country after roman empire who traded with India and until it was a monarchy the blueprints of seamap were highly confidential after spain and other neighbors attacked portugal overthrew the monarch they found out that portuguese did not grow spices on their land but bought it from India. in roman literature there is mention of Indica multiple times but no one knew what and where it was. after that that secret sea map of world as drawn by portuguese was shared within european countries or you can say conqurers and then everyone started their journey like british had east India company dutch had west India country. on portuguese map they called asia pacific as east Indies and caribbean islands west Indies. search for India started and britishers won the race as planned by europeans that now we wont trade but loot them of everything. railways was established and tons of gold and silver earned over centuries by trade was looted by british french portuguese and other euro colonizers .
