If you need some video ideas these might be good: How to solo the tinkerer boss in Mara for pre-bis/bis Hpala / Shockadin sword. How to solo the houndmaster in BRD for pre-bis cape. (the cape was supposed to drop from interrogator in classic but for some reason on SoD it drops from the houndmaster.
I would way rather have our bis weapon locked behind a farm instead of a few weeks of lockouts in the raid. Took me 35 runs to get my tiger gloves and 42 for my sword
Bloodmoon sword is artrocious for pve. Its almost twice as slow for crit exo reset spam. In SoD the faster the 2 hander the better it is for the current meta ret build. I have Parasomnia, Whisper, and Sul'thraze and its Sul by a mile.@timmayy84

Pro tip: use the Nightmare Siphon trinket from Emerald Wardens during the event to make it very easy. +150 Health/Mana per kill per 10 secs.

Just run bloodmoon a couple times and youll get an even better sword

Bis weapon? A 2.00 speed with the speed weapon scaling? Bha
due to seal of martyrdom being normalized for 3.3 speed weapons, faster is better now. not to mention the art of war interactions.
