a small note to our self's and everyone who is watching. screwing the motor screws carefully yes, because they will short the winding's yes, BUT motor will still turn freely because the winding's don't spin but the bell does, so you might not figure out that there is short circuit. it happened to me once and i was aware not to tight the screws all the way. So be careful everyone Great Video!!
I've seen that happen to four T-Motor U7s ($250 each) on a 10kg quadcopter. The screws that came with the motors were designed for ~4mm thick motor mounts and were installed (with some oversight) into custom moulded carbon motor mounts with 2mm thick bases that actually prevented the coils from being inspected once installed. All four motors were short-circuited by the bolts protruding too far and started bellowing smoke on spin-up due to the epoxy in the carbon burning. Pants were shat that day and heads rolled for the $1000 mistake
great to see and hear no bull shit, straight to the point, fast and no lame arse intro video that takes 2 minutes to get through, great work, i am subscribing.
+UAVfutures I agree there I'm on cold turkey at the moment trying to reduce by debts. Ideally the antenna coax length should be optimised for the frequency used. Best not to use it all and fix the antenna direct to the video transmitter for better range. Also its good to use through holes when soldering wires to the PCB board but no big deal.
stewjw The reason we use pig tails is because in a crash the antenna can ryp off pulling the sma plug off the back of your VTX which can be costly. and we crash a lot haha
+UAVfutures There's a lot of bravado about crashing mini quads. Don't crash, these are expensive and and fly safe. I may be in the minority here. You can place the video transmitter vTx so it doesn't have the antenna connection hanging out but I appreciate space is limited on these small quads and people like to enclose the vTx so it looks more tidy. I'm also not a fan of putting the vTx inside the frame since they can get hot. Its not a problem if only using 25mW -just my opinion.
Man, that's a hell of a nuclear spaceship you built over there! Love your enthousiasm at the end of the video lol Thanks for sharing and have a great week

Hi Stuart, thanks for another great vid. I am only new to this sport, well quads anyway, and its really good to watch someone who doesn't SODDER supply some excellent content from AU. I have only been buying components from Hobby King, Ali Express and Bang Good so any good Aussie shops you wanna name drop - feel free. BTW, that 5S thing was an absolute rocket!! Cheers.
thank you for the help. I recently bought a " Roosh 5L. But didn't know how to use the flight controller or receiver. I have built some large quads but never racing quad. thank you for the help and cant wait to fly my own!
Very nice and clean build. It looks fantastic. Nice job.You can cut this video antenna extention cable and solder it directly to VTX. It will be cleaner, lighter, beter signal (les connectors) and no problem with too long cable.
+TomSmooth True. I guess im just worries about the antenna breaking in a crash, so i can just unscrew i and screw in a new one. But what you suggest is exactly what I do on my atom build
Love it... I just built myself a Realacc X210 Pro with Scorpion 2205 2350 KV motors with 30 AMP Kiss ESC's and like you and only on 3S im flying on like 30% throttle to. Too scared to put 4S on yet... lol
Thank you for simple and clear instruction! It seems quite easy at the first look. Do you have a video of the most energy efficient (it doesn't need too fast drone) and wide range drone? Or maybe you can recommend something. What are specifications of flight time and signal range for this one?
Thank you. ( now i have a hammer and am looking at my little piggy bank with a psychotic look on my face ) lol Big thumbs up and will put a parts order in soon.
Awesome video and a nice display of clean Epiquad builds. I think the only reason it does "only" 100km/h is because of the 800mAh LiPo. Even if it is capable to provide the amps required for that 6kg+ (static) thrust, the voltage would drop so fast that it likely would decrease in acceleration during the first punch out. I reckon with that kind of power, fitting a 1300/1500mAh pack would be no problem, and would make it go a lot faster despite the added weight. After all, this probably is more of a sheer power drag racer than a nimble little racing X. I wonder how the EpiPDB will handle the massive current this setup is able to pull!
I tried to solder together wires yesterday. It was pathetic. They wouldn't stick to each other. I ended up curling that shit up with my fingers and just hot glueing a heat shrink. :( your skills make me jealous right now.
Robert Bain you really need to solder the wires, can't twist and glue as you will have a fail. Practice with some spare wire and ensure you pre tin, doesn't take long and makes for a sure connection
Hi, I am just getting started with droning and have found your channel remarkably helpful. From researching around I came across the Zendrone Blazer Pro. Can you do a review on that or simply giving me some of your thoughts? Again. Awesome channel mate!
what would be a good alternative at that pricepoint? i like the fact it has the return to home and gps stabilization. almost like a hyrbid performance utility.
Hi, nice video, awesome quad. I coudn't keep myself from asking this.. can you show or explain how you recorded the build.. the kind of tripod, camera and mounting technique?
Hi mate. I record with the camera mounted on a tripod but from the other side of the desk., Then I just rotate the footage 180 degrees so it looks the right way up in my editing software
Hi, Could you pls tell me what should I do? Should I build this drone or just buy the eachine x220? Which one is faster? And what transmitter do yo recommend? I would buy the Flysky FS-i6S. I really like that design. Thanks your answer in advance!:)

at your stage. meaning the Entry level dont go for a fast quard. Buy at toy grade quad and learn as you go. Maby get a QX90 and practics FPV flying at home Rly. buying a fast quard without any experience flying quad's is like putting a 5 Year old behind the wheel of a Super car. Rekt in 5 mins or less.
That does look super clean. And fast :) Battery though seems kinda small. I bet those motors could draw much more amps than what the battery can give out. How are those 5s batterys available in different sizes?
Great video..!! you make it look so easy Could you do a video of just how to connect the nase32 to a receiver w/ telemetry and how to get it working all correctly? or recommend another video to watch and secondly, could you have put the guts and motors in a 250 and would it have gone the same speed? again, great Video!!! Im def going to have to try to make one now that i have seen this
+Bacardiish I will see what I can do about a video about setting it up. Epiquads has some great manuals on their site that are very well written. It would go a similar speed in any frame. But the 210 has a slightly smaller footprint so it cuts through the air more. And because its a 4mm carbon fibre bottom plate means that this frame is very strong and rigid. Which is important especially when you have so much power : )
+Cameron Mitchell probably very easy in canada. The US has access to so many great parts. most of us in this hobby just order internationally and play the waiting game
Love this video, I know this is the wrong setup to use as my first quad, but i'm going to make the dive and go for it. with a 3s instead of the 5. I love the way it looks. I do have a couple questions on the; 1. Foxeer TM200, did you get it with a RP-SMA or SMA option? 2. HS1177, Lens options 2.8, 3.6, 2.1 - IR Sens or IR Block, I think your vid shows the connectors at the top? Of course I'll have more questions as they pop up. But I'm looking to make a duplicate of your build and hope it looks just as bad ass.
Are u in geelong steward if so I really can't wait to fly with u :))) I'm new I just got a falcon 120 and I have no idear how to set it up ahahaha I thinking of building one also;)
Glad to see the maiden went well. Liked the silly trailer at the start :) A couple of questions... Did the Motors / ESCs feel?...quite warm or OK? How do you find the flight times compared to 4s? When you've had a chance to get it tuned nicely, would be interested to see how much different your PIDs are on the same props on 5s vs 4s. My 6" prop setup has 5600g of Thrust, but weighs 615g AUW including Battery & Mobius... but this 5s setup would certainly feel a lot more "perky" :)
+David Martin they were surprisingly not that warm. the flight times are much shorter, I would say around 2 minutes because the battery is 0.8mah and my 4s batteries are 1.3.
+David Martin its worth it for me because I like something a bit different and crazy to my normal quads. But if I could only build one it would not be this one simply because of the sort flight times
+LeoTheHuman agreed, but its still not ideal. I just wish people made 1cm pigtails. would also shed a few grams for all of us. Get on this manufactures : )
LeoTheHuman are there any that screw down onto the frame like a pig tail. I have some adapters but they dont actualyl bolt to the frame, they are just a 90 degree adapter without screwing into the frame. Do you have any links?
No, I've never searched for these. I use a bit longer pigtails and a zip-tie to match the length I need. I prefer my VTX closer to the camera to avoid going across the PDB with the video wire.
hey, looks like a great setup. but if i want to use a micro minin osd, where should i place it, between the camera and the pdb, or the pdb and the transmitter? and is there a filterted 5v for the camera and the minimosd or would you just use telemetry to let you know what the voltage of your quad is?
hey dude recently asked you on your drone under 300$ a question :D i wasnt specific enough so here i go again I bought the exact same kix excapt me getting the FS-iA6 I did everything you did but my drone isnt reacting to my remote I know that my remote is connected to the receaver cuz of the light: it was blinkin fast whyle connecting it the first time... after i did that it was permanently light up when the drone and the remote controll was turned on... and blinking slow when only the drone was turned on:( i also tested the drones "engine" on betaflight and they all were spinning so the drone isnt broken thank you in advance :DDD I hope that you can help me solve this problem i really want to get in to that hobby btw i really ejoy your vids and you got me hooked on this sport... ceep it on mate :D
its working :D I today got the same receaver that you used and it instantly worked thanks for your help :3 happy flying ill try not to crash and destroy the drone at the first minutes :D
Beautiful quad. I'd love it in my collection, but I'd put a 4s on it. I've yet to see a 210-ish quad running 5s that looked in balance. Maybe something like a 6inch Alien would handle the big pack better?
That's cool but I meant balanced in terms of power versus stuff like frame strength. 5s just seems to upset the quads. But I guess you don't have to go full gas.
love ya vids bro im Melbourne based thinking of getting into race quads been flying toy grade and hubsan 501s for 6 mounths what would u recommend for my firsr race quad and gear ? cheers
Holy **** the speed! Very nice build! I'm considering building a 210X like you, and donating my ZMR250 to a good friend. How do the Cobra's hold up to 5S? I have some RCX H2205 2633KV's, and I know they can run 4S, not sure about 5S with a high KV like that though.
Are the parts fairly durable ? Also, how much cocaine will I need? Is lead soldier toxic? Also, It seems like this guy has heaps of cocaine. I checked the playback speed, surprisingly its set to normal. Perhaps the title should be: How to Build a FPV RACING DRONE at 100kmph (Whilst consuming massive amounts of cocaine)
+UAVfutures I found them, but it says here they get pretty hot with just 5040 so, yeah i'd reather play it save an get some motors that can handle every 5 inch prop. If i get the cobra racing edition 2100kv just like you, would you mind sharing your PID's when you tuned it?
Hi! Nice video! But in the doc that you put in the description there's a wrong link! Because the frame in the link is the orion 155x and the wiring is different, can you tell me the seems frame of your video? Thank you!
You mentioned 2min flight times. Is there anyway to extend time to 5-6min? What would need to be changed on this build to allow this? (And perhaps to fly 2min insane speeds occasionally). 2min is too short :)
Yeah, why bother to spend many hundreds or dollars to build something that only lasts 2 minutes. :(My $100 toy SkyViper V2400HD can last about 10 minutes, and even longer with beefier batteries.
Uhm, because that is a toy so they design it for a ten minute flight time so people like you would be happy. If you want a racing or freestyle drone, you want something with a lot more power and agility, but at the cost of flight time per battery. You can go to a larger battery, but then you lose agility and power because you add weight. And 10 minutes is not much flight time truth be told, I am doing a build right now that will fly around like your SkyViper for an hour because I want to cruise it around, and at long range (several miles). But I have lots of these little quads I use for freestyle and I expect 3 minute flight time on one battery, but I bring a dozen batteries with me. But my quads will do things a SkyViper couldn't even dream of doing. So its about what you want. If you want a toy to cruise around your house or yard, SkyViper or whatever BestBuy has for $100, perfect. If you want really long flight times, build a long range rig like I am doing. If you want to race or do freestyle, you build one of these, albeit a 4S rig would be better as most 4S, 5 inch builds today will do 100-120km/h as well, if you use relatively decent parts and know what you are doing as far as component choices. Same thing with cars; do you want the general commuter, do you want the drivers car, do you want a Formula 1 car? Comparing that SkyViper to these drones is honestly comparing a Honda Civic to an F1 car. Completely different, built for entirely different purposes.
+UAVfutures you are right though this hobby is like a drug just wrote off my 180 waiting for a new motor to arrive and I'm clucking waiting to get back out there I'm like an addict :-)
my wife and i drink every time he says "and things like that". loved the video.
That puddy idea for holding what you're soldering is pretty cool. Thanks for the trick
The most helpful thing I got from this vid is your blue tack soldering. Bloody marvelous
no probs mate. Glad you learnt something from it. Happy Flying
a small note to our self's and everyone who is watching. screwing the motor screws carefully yes, because they will short the winding's yes, BUT motor will still turn freely because the winding's don't spin but the bell does, so you might not figure out that there is short circuit.

+UAVfutures Leave antenna as is. Cut this 5cm extention cable under top plate.
TomSmooth o i see. very smart. might have to do that next time
very nice video! i want to buy my first racing drone, I was wondering if there is some kind of "buy-list" including all the needed parts?
great video. where can I get a bag of all the small extra parts needed. do you have a part number
Nice building techniques neat and clean!

gotta love that "HATE" shrink lol

Awesome build video! Have you had any signal problems with the EpiRex not having diversity antennas, or does it not make much difference?
+Sean Duffy I had problems one day but that was just because the antenna had popped off. Once i clicked it back on to the epirx it was fine.
crazy build brother! also welcome back.
+Oscar Santos Thanks mate. Its good to be back in Aus making vids again
awesome video man im just researching before buying my first drone just watched for the fun and enjoyed it really informativre

such a clean build very impressed
+Scott Ferguson Thanks. Epiquads makes great quads

I have actually heard this before haha
Nice solder job. Would love to see that in slowmo.
Nice build bud. put mine up for sale after last weekend. when its gone ill be attempting to build a 250. i just wanted to join you fellas lol.
awesome
AWSOME BUILD YOUR VERY TALENTED
Thank You So much. i am new and ordered a SYMA X5SW to learn but want to build my own sometime i the future..

Thank you
awesome build man
very nice video!, just rebuilding mine after a crash, snapped arm buggered the receiver :) only had it a week
you snapped an epi x frame? OMG that is crazy, never heard of that ever, they are like a tank frame
UAVfutures no no echine falcon lol wish I built my own now, after your video I'm going to give it a try
Awesome video mate 👍🏼
You think I can fit a naza v2 instead of the flight control?

That does look super clean. And fast :)

Thanks for the info. Do you think the extra thrust + shorter flight time is worth it for the intense speed / something different?
+David Martin its worth it for me because I like something a bit different and crazy to my normal quads. But if I could only build one it would not be this one simply because of the sort flight times
Would you reccomend this for races?
Helping hands. Great for not burning the other hands. ;)
+Da Aa haha true.
Hi UAVfutures, i really enjoy your video, your vlog very helpful, can i share your youtube in my blog's?
damn that quad is FAST
*plays hell march* *stops it short* "HEY GUYS!!!" lol thats the best
Looks awesome , what's a good begginer racing quadcopter ?
ruclips.net/video/2nUdi7VQVtM/видео.html
get a speedix kit. great starter
You can take a bit longer pigtail, bend it in S-shape and use a zip-tie to keep it tight.
+LeoTheHuman agreed, but its still not ideal. I just wish people made 1cm pigtails. would also shed a few grams for all of us. Get on this manufactures : )
They have L-shape adapters. These are very close to 1 cm length.
I prefer my VTX closer to the camera to avoid going across the PDB with the video wire.
wow this thing is insane
what does it cost?
hey, looks like a great setup. but if i want to use a micro minin osd, where should i place it, between the camera and the pdb, or the pdb and the transmitter? and is there a filterted 5v for the camera and the minimosd or would you just use telemetry to let you know what the voltage of your quad is?
hey dude recently asked you on your drone under 300$ a question :D i wasnt specific enough so here i go again
I bought the exact same kix excapt me getting the FS-iA6
I did everything you did but my drone isnt reacting to my remote
I know that my remote is connected to the receaver cuz of the light:
it was blinkin fast whyle connecting it the first time... after i did that it was permanently light up when the drone and the remote controll was turned on... and blinking slow when only the drone was turned on:(
i also tested the drones "engine" on betaflight and they all were spinning so the drone isnt broken
thank you in advance :DDD
I hope that you can help me solve this problem i really want to get in to that hobby
btw i really ejoy your vids and you got me hooked on this sport... ceep it on mate :D
try rebinding it. it soudns like a binding issue.
its working :D I today got the same receaver that you used and it instantly worked
thanks for your help :3
happy flying
ill try not to crash and destroy the drone at the first minutes :D
Hi Stewart. Can't open the google list for components could you please list them here for me and where in Oz I can get them. Cheers Daz
loved the build can't wait till i have the money to build one! XD which ones the doc? there like 6
Epi quad 210 x frame
thx
Nice video man;) what s the name of your PDB board ? because there is an update on your doc and the pdb board isnt the same ...
its just the epiquad pdb
Hi, Great build...
What about PID tuning and programming? Not needed in this type, or?;)
+tobias kyhl I am running beta flight which is very good with stock pids, but yes it still needs a small amount of tuning especially at high throttle
Beautiful quad. I'd love it in my collection, but I'd put a 4s on it. I've yet to see a 210-ish quad running 5s that looked in balance. Maybe something like a 6inch Alien would handle the big pack better?
+Flight Mode Fast The 5S pack is lighter then my 4S 1300mah : )
That's cool but I meant balanced in terms of power versus stuff like frame strength. 5s just seems to upset the quads. But I guess you don't have to go full gas.
Flight Mode Fast O i see. Yeah this frame is pretty beast a 4mm unibody so that helps a little
Yeah it looks like a really nice frame. How does it compare to the Alien 5, QAV210 or QAV-R? Those are my references.
love ya vids bro im Melbourne based thinking of getting into race quads been flying toy grade and hubsan 501s for 6 mounths what would u recommend for my firsr race quad and gear ? cheers
what's your pdb and recevier brand? it looks so clean in that dron
Holy **** the speed! Very nice build! I'm considering building a 210X like you, and donating my ZMR250 to a good friend. How do the Cobra's hold up to 5S? I have some RCX H2205 2633KV's, and I know they can run 4S, not sure about 5S with a high KV like that though.
the cobras are still only rates to 4s but they seem to be fine on 5S. I have a set of rcx's and I would never run them at 5S.
+UAVfutures well, the rcx's are cheap, so better to run them on 4S.
jacobtc yep. they are an awesome value motor.
Are the parts fairly durable ? Also, how much cocaine will I need? Is lead soldier toxic? Also, It seems like this guy has heaps of cocaine. I checked the playback speed, surprisingly its set to normal. Perhaps the title should be: How to Build a FPV RACING DRONE at 100kmph
(Whilst consuming massive amounts of cocaine)
Awesome build! I think I'm going to build one too. But what motors should i get, some higher kv motors? I think i'll just be running 4s.
+bauke-jan feenstra if you are running just 4s. Yep get some higher kv motors. RCX 2205 2633 kV are pretty fast for 5 inch
+UAVfutures I found them, but it says here they get pretty hot with just 5040 so, yeah i'd reather play it save an get some motors that can handle every 5 inch prop. If i get the cobra racing edition 2100kv just like you, would you mind sharing your PID's when you tuned it?
bauke-jan feenstra if you are just running 4 cell then get the cobra 2204 2300kv. they are perfect for 5" props
No, i changed my mind, i'm getting the 2206 2100kv cobra's so that maby later i can fly 5s. But thanks!
bauke-jan feenstra o ok cool. Well welcome to the 5s club hehe
Hi! Nice video! But in the doc that you put in the description there's a wrong link! Because the frame in the link is the orion 155x and the wiring is different, can you tell me the seems frame of your video? Thank you!
look at the bottom page part of the doc, there are tabs for each build. The one you want it the epiquad 210x
+UAVfutures oh! sorry i didn't saw it!!
well build, very well build.. subscribed !!!
+Long Hoang Pham welcome to the channel. Happy Flying
I need THIS ! lol my hubsan h107 won't be enough after seeing this
+Emre Yurdakul Welcome to the addiction haha
Black beast. Epic build
+James Bowen lol it is a beast indeed
+UAVfutures you are right though this hobby is like a drug just wrote off my 180 waiting for a new motor to arrive and I'm clucking waiting to get back out there I'm like an addict :-)
James Bowen I check the mail box even on weekends....post doesn't run on the weekend haha
"And things like that" lol. Nice vid
+doondedulin44 lol thanks. My wife always teases me about saying that too much haha
+UAVfutures Haha 😁
clean work by the way
+Jose Cerdeiras ty
nicely done
Hey Stew really like your videos. May I ask what do you do for a living?
without going into details too much, I work in a job that helps people
lol
Да интересное видео %) подписка и лайк, буду ждать новых видео.
why do you hold that stick every time.
