If you set the expectation that good players good enough to determine when a game is lost should be able leave those games early, that’s great that you’re saving some super high elo players a few minutes.
But what happens when average players see this and determine their own games are “unwinnable” and spam afk games that would otherwise be winnable because unlike Agurin they can’t accurately determine when a game is actually 100% over.
Exactly, that is the issue at hand that isnt discussed enough. Is Agurin allowed to go AFK because he is a good player and the gold player isnt because he cant judge it? Same rights for everyone, the last time i checked the summoners code applied to every elo, not just the ordinary players

Honestly I do think there should be a mild punishment. I think agurin is correct that the game is lost. But I still think its setting a bad example because most people who ff think the game is lost and most of them are wrong.

Game knowledge doesnt really matter here tho. Of course hes much better all of us, but AFKing is ALWAYS wrong and Agurin says exactly that in his statement. He is to blame for this behaviour.
I think as a role model it would have been better not to go afk. Going afk should not be encouraged, even if it was justified in that particular game. Agurin is a streamer and content creator, and people respect and look up to him as one of the strongest players. If he goes afk, justified or not, that will for sure make others feel that that is ok in their games too, and guess what, it's not.
Honestly the discussion is not about if the game was winnable. The problem is that agurin forces his opinion on his teammates by going afk. Ask in chat if u can open, because there is no way to win anymore and if ur team aggrees, go afk. But as long as the game is not surrendered in anyway u play the damn thing.

@@henning7923 Wether Agurin’s team agrees or not, the game is already over. Agurin AFK’ing does not affect the outcome. Agurin isn’t forcing anything, if anything, they forced this loss onto him.

playing off-meta is completely different from forcing 4 people at gunpoint to play a game they didnt queue up to play. they queued to play league of legends competitively, not to enable bardinette's little fucking egotrip that he thinks the world revolves around him. if he doesnt want to play league normally, then dont play league and switch games. also bardinette posts powerpoint in lobbies every game stating if his team bans bard (because they dont want to play with this strategy) he will then instalock illaoi, and shows a pic of his illaoi stats: 0% winrate of 130 games, kda of 0/7/3, and this is btw CLEARLY a threat to intentionally feed and troll the game if his teammates refuse to play his bullshit garbage strategy, so hes effectively saying that everyone has to play by his rules or he will int. and thats not bannable and astro toxic????

It’s Reddit dude bunch of silver shitters. They would rather see you literally autopilot play for the next 5 minutes until surrender vote than afk when it literally makes no difference. Game is absolutely not winnable by any means. Nemesis said it best, he never actually afks because he doesn’t want Reddit threads but his gameplay in these kinda games would literally be the same as being afk since he’s just stalling until surrender vote.

If the enemy top laner is good leaving top open is very bad for solo q. Since in solo q there is no voice comps its hard to make this work. You have to win lane to have prio or setup for bard. And your team needs to adapt fast and play pro active to make up for the top defecit. Not only that the teamcomp was horrible. Faker in his place would not change the outcome.
While I understand the situation the issue I have with it is that I just played 2 games 3v5 in plat elo because people with low amount of game knowledge end up using this mentality to just give up at 1st death. 😅 society is dumb

The game was lost, that is 99.9% certain, but the issue remains: Is it ok to go AFK? Because who decides when it is ok and when it isnt. Most players who go AFK will probably say soemthing similar, "The game was lost", "I got griefed by Support!" etc. etc. It is hard to draw the line, is Agurin allowed to do it because he is good and knows when the game is truly lost? Is he allowed to decide against the wishes of 4 other players when the game is lost? I understand that it is frustrating, but I think he should have played until minute 15 and go for the surrender (which probably wouldnt have worked, but that is another issue). Opening pandoras box and saying it was ok for him to go AFK since the game was lost anyway isnt something we want. Because others could probably say the same about their rankeds and claim it is just the same. And I dont think a Challenger player should have different rights than the ordinary gold-boy.

@@HollowR1130 No its not stupid, unless you're an Agurin/Nemesis elo player or generally very high elo you as a player dont have the ability to tell when a game is over because both teams suck and will make mistakes. If an emerald game had been in the exact same state as Agurins game was when he gave up if it was a good Zyra she could very well have made it back into the game by just punishing the mistakes the enemies make. Of course Agurin doesn't have that option because all the players in that lobby are gm so they wont make mistakes that let him win back the game but thats completely different for low elo. So if some low elo jungler sees Agurin going afk because the game is over for him they might apply that to their own game and go afk which already happens way to often especially in Emerald.

Well, it's more the system of league that needs to be changed then, cause a normal person in high elo or low elo would get punished for afking regardless of the state of the game. The same way if Baus wasn't a league streamer he would get punished for inting without getting his accounts back if he wasn't a streamer. Honestly believe that everyone should get punished on the same basis, and if you afk as a normal person you will get punished.

As a Jungle Main, some games are just lost and most laners have no awareness how harmful it is, if they afk lvl 1 under tower, are always pushed in, not putting a single ward themselves while allowing enemy to ward entire Jungle. "gg jungle gap, what did you do this game?" No shit, enemy Top contests my Krugs/red. Enemy mid contests my Raptors/Red. Enemy Support contests my Gromp/Blue. I have no idea where enemy Jungle is, since he has 5 different options to choose from to make plays.
When you confront your laners, ok 3 losing lanes, very playable. They will respond, wdym lose? I am even cs and 0/0, you fed my laner! This happens in D2-low Master btw. You would expect sentences like this in Gold, but even Master players are this bad.
So I am not surprised people say this dumb stuff.

And the elo diff and the queue u get after losing once and even the time it takes to queue there is no way they use anything remotely effective runtime wise
The game is just in such a bad state its not even funny. From mages being absolutely useless in Midlane cause you have to play against Tristana, Akshan or Corki in literally every 2nd game, to lv 35 accounts smurfing your ass, to softgriefing like shown in the above Clip. You can have a Rumble top, an AP Midlane, an AP Jungler (guess what, it's AP Jungle META) and yet your botlane Carry who is the only damn source of physical damage will go and pick a Brand cause "its good". The last few months i played the game were the most horrible experience i've ever had playing any game. It's such a shitshow.

the problem is when you as an influential player do this on stream outside of emergency situations, your average silver viewer will start doing this too when the game goes slightly bad. yes this particular game was unplayable after a point and its ok if he goes afk but not on stream.

@@cbg4567 the thing is at a certain elo the players dont do mistakes anymore. They play the game out clean without allowing a comeback. If you have a hard losing game in high elo the chance you can still win is really really low, so for a lot of players its more efficient just to go next

Regardless, it isn't your perogative to AFK once you alone decide the game has gotten to an unrecoverable point.
