Yeah, the wind temple only suffers from having the dungeon composition of botw which sucks ass, but otherwise, the buildup and boss are great and it’s definitely my second favorite dungeon in this game after the lightning temple.
Yeah i feel like the regional beasts were a little too easy. Maybe it’s just because I’m comparing them to the blights from the last game, but they were just enjoyable to beat compared to the sweat required to survive the blights.
@PyroPuffs777 im sorry but i think you dhould replay botw The blights are at most as hard as a talus or hinox The only one tahts actually a challenge is thinderblight but atht fucker is as hard as calamity ganon The regional beasts range in difficukty going easy colgera to medium aka gohma to annoying aka mucktorok and hell aka queen fucking gibdo
Even though the brightness of the storm ambiance is gone, I'm still so glad we can rematch it! all the opportunities to linger on the ost, kinda like how Dark Beast Ganon's fight was too short for the soundtrack, we gotta go back and really sit on it still though, agreed, I could have fought it a million more times in the sky
Imo the blights were the worst bosses Zelda ever had While Colgera was one of the best ever A boss that you can defeat without any weapon just by gliding in a game like totk 10/10 + the music and scene 11/10
One thing I have always loved about the Zelda games is that not only do they create new songs, they find ways to hide old songs into them. It just makes everything so much better
It's not just that they worked Dragon Roost Island's leitmotif into this that makes it so great (though I do love that), it's how POWERFUL it sounds with the choir/flute combo! Absolutely superb arrangement.
Did you play the final boss? I feel like that one was on par with if not better than colgera (still love Colgera though! Certainly the best of the temple bosses)
I’ve never played any zelda games other than botw and totk, but hearing colgera’s theme sent shivers down my spine yet made my heart warm at the same time. Nintendo knew what they were doing
I haven't played all the games but the music from all of them hits so hard, it's beautiful. I'm sure you'd enjoy the other zelda games too if you ever give them a shot!
Brooo play wind waker you will love it….i mean play all of them they are all awesome hahahaha but if you liked colgera’s theme then play wind waker first hahaha
I notices since the first time i went to rito village. Thats why i always vibe in there... and also i love the architecture and the people... it feels like home
Wind Waker was the first Zelda game I ever played, and also first one I ever completed. And Dragon’s roost was by far my fav song so having this motif return just made the battle feel absolutely freaking epic!
I'm gonna be honest, Wind Waker was my first video-game at all. It made me a Zelda fan for life and had I never played it I would have been an entirely different person.
I had to pause during this fight bc I cried hearing this song play. Genuinely love when music in games have leitmotifs like that, especially when they call back to older games within the series.
favorite boss in the game. First temple I went to. Seriously the build up to reaching the temple, diving into the storm itself and facing this beast was a big highlight of the game. Favorite boss, dungeon, and just about perfect.
What made me finally accept Tears of the Kingdom and the BotW trilogy into my heart... Was this. ESPECIALLY Colgera. How pretty much my favorite bosses were easter eggs in the game
Same here. BOTW I liked, but I wouldn’t have ranked it very high on my favorite Zelda games list because of how far a departure it was from classic Zelda formula. Tears gave me what I was looking for and more.
This is the best nostalgia hit I've been given in a game in years it was SO GOOD. I love this boss, I wish it was a bit harder or longer but it's still my favourite in the whole game, it's so cinematic and THIS SONG IS THE BEST SONG IN THE WHOLE GAME
I always loved when they did this with the music. I always tie memories to songs so when I hear them again in newer games it brings a wave of nostalgia. Sometimes bringing me to tears
I used to have a wii u where i ALWAYS used to play wind waker, eventually i sold it and all my games to buy a switch, hearing colgeras theme LEGITAMETALEELALLELY MADE ME ALMOST CRY. Wind temple was by far the best temple in totk imo
i didn’t even play wind waker and this song brings back so much nostalgia, it’s like a reminder that this is still link even though the games are so different
As someone whose first Zelda game WAS Wind Waker, this theme is extremely nostalgic for me. It takes me back to when I was just a kid, knew nothing about Zelda, and I was making my way through Dragon Roost Island with absolutely no clue what I was doing but loving every second of it. I love this theme!
When I first fought the Colgera and heard that motif in it’s theme, the nostalgia of watching my older brother play Wind Waker flooded back to me hit hit me like a truck.
Colgera was my first boss fight and it was easily my favorite so far. I still haven't finished the game i've done gotten the 4 champions. i also fought colgera a second time underground, which is nuts! i about teared up hearing dragon roost. my chat was like "yo is he crying" over on twitch lmao
Seeing as that leitmotif basically represents the Rito I think it’s awesome it plays here and I like to think it’s like all the Rito people are praying for your victory since their survival basically depends on it
Honestly, even though Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game, I didn't recognize Dragon Roost in Colgera's theme. But that moment in the song, when it changes from a battling flute to a brilliant crescendo of people singing in harmony, drowning out the battling instruments, I actually gasped and it brought a tear to my eye. Even divorced from nostalgia, the Dragon Roost section in the song is a brilliant testament to the Rito coming all together alongside you to defeat this ancient evil, scourge of the Rito Tribe. It is absolutely beautiful.
bro wind waker was my first zelda game, when i recognized that melody it sent chills down my spine and i almost cried of nostalgia, really beautiful game.
Botw and totk’s music feels like the best part of the game sometimes. It adds SO MUCH to the action sequences omg. I’m super late to the party cuz I played botw only a few months ago and I WISH I played it on release and it’s the best experience I’ve had in a game in so long.
My favorite ever zelda game is wind waker and i played it when I was young, and this theme always sends me into tears because of the nostalgia. I’m glad other people feel this too
This song is truly beautiful, it really illustrates a hero fighting a gigantic monster, but it also makes you feel like the heros of the past are by your side, giving it their all to defeat the curse left on hyrule, providing aid when needed from the experienced they claimed from their journeys. It truly is beautiful, and is, in my opinion, the most impactful song in the whole game.
This is what made the Colgera boss fight so goddamn cool for me. Well, that and it was my first one in the game. Yeah, the fight is pretty easy, but hearing the Dragon Roost Island music from Wind Waker playing in the background made it feel like you were fighting alongside the souls of the Rito people who had been terrorized by this damn monster.
Wind waker was already nostalgic but the fact that dragon roost island is in colgera’s theme will make this super nostalgic in a decade

Yeah like the part right before the Dragon Roost theme is a riff on Molgera's. Like the lick at the very beginning is identical.

Give it a shot (or listen to the OST with some gameplay footage), it's a fun game and the original version is fantastic!
Wind Waker has the best soundtrack in the whole series
True! Which is why it was so jarring when it was frozen over and the warm music was only a weak cry for help...
I actually deeply dislike the BoTW and ToTK remixes
