I am just so in love with this story, I hope it will someday be turned into a movie, maybe with time I will do it myself :p It has everything, tragic love story, fallen angels, demons helping bad men, sirens helping good men, fairies and gremlins in between, beasts just obeying orders, zombies, pretty much every creature you would like to see in a movie plus great characters and a fine storyline.
More like, don't trust suspicious women, and stick with your friends. Really, all it took for him to lose everything he cared for as to go along with Cybil's plans. It's because he didn't trust Rictor well enough that he ended failing.
Yep. I remember when I played Tactics Ogre on the PSX originally. (Shortly after this one). I thught "Huh... Lans Tartare... why does that name sound familiar?" especially after seeing he was with Lodis. Then all of a sudden, I'm fighting him, and I notice his sword... that's when it hit me. Then I replayed the game, noticed that "Theme of Black Knight" was playing for a double whammy - seriously why didn't I recognize it?
Capra Yeah, I can see what you are getting it. The delivery is a little odd at times and there are some leaps of faith, but I think we can mostly blame this on the fact that its a video game. I am definitely not missing copious amounts of bonding and character development scenes during a playthrough. The plot could be faithfully converted into a book and nothing more than some elaboration could really smooth things over, such as adding in some more down time without altering the story arc. I suppose the strongest aspect of the story in my opinion is the greater lore. The epic with the fallen angel is very underappreciated. A lot of philosophical themes prevail in the plot, like Alphonse's struggle with the choices he makes and determination to stick to his chosen path mirrors the fallen angel's story, especially since Alphonse ultimately falls as well. As far as the political plot, it is much less interesting, but definitely mirrors several historical events like the Crusades, and does a fine job of portraying accurately the moral grey area that most governments stand in. Also I love how this game is not afraid to use the word God. Much like FFT, actually not being so ultra-politically correct adds a sense of realism to the plots for me.
@@MrIronJustice I agree about the God thing. I'm not religious though am familiar with it. I'm here from buying the new remake on switch and am just reading comments and watching videos on this game. I played FFTA on GBA when I was younger so seeing this vid is nostalgic despite never playing this game. There is something very attractive about these strategy RPGs, and the stories no doubt play a big part in that. I'm very surprised with the themes of slaughtering innocents in the new remake. You'd never see the word God or killing 5k innocent people in newer games. These games were weighty and yet had a lightness to them. Excellent games! I miss childhood

Select choice A when Cybil asks you a question in a cutscene at Cape Urodela. This will put you on the A path. Eleanor must be included in your party for the final battle with Shaher (and she must survive).

Or just don't beat the game under 25 hours

So.... The Lans of The PSO Tactics Ogre is Alphonse? WOA!!! *Mind Blow*
And I think Lans from Ogre Battle hence how he "left his mark on the history of Zeteginia"

Yes!!!... :3
I'm playing over Tactics Ogre: LUCT for PSP and I just realized this. Damn. Wish he was recruitable though :'(
@Human Trash I actually used the 100% Recruit cheat and got him. If used wrong you could mess up the game though. Good thing for the World Tarot lol
I love everything about this game. The story is very well written.

I completed this game twice, once with a pathetic ending, but the next time i rocked it, maxed out characters, litch, and what not, awsome game!
Maybe if Reborn does well enough this will get a remake. Or better yet, we get a new game with more Alphonse/Lanselot.
Esse jogo é FODA. Precisava de um remake.. e dos finais explicadinhos em algum guia, muito difícil de achar na internet

+Silver Fangz and thats the good ending...
***** Oh, say... I got a question, I was playing this game the other day and got an Angel Knight as a companion, does that change anything? or has anyone or have you tried it already?
no, it doesnt change anything... only the answers u give Eleanor and Cybil change some things...
I see... thank you for answering~
Bummer tho... I was really hoping it triggered something new like a different ending and the like...
You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
I see you snapped the starting soldier companion Allos. Hehe.
yes, turned him into a Lich...
As a kid i complete all stage and finally got to fight shaher but couldnt beat him beacause of low stat but max out every character
did you hit him with the Longinus Spear?
I will sitll hate L.Tartaros for what he has done to L.Hamilton.
And oh ive gone trough all the endings . THere is an ending where the girl lives and we the two of u run away to a far land together
Which is the falsd ending.
I got the B? Endingd Where Cybil sacrifices herself and Alphonse goes away with Eleanor. Which is the good and the normal? Is this the best ending?
You can't really say that the A+ ending is the best, but it is the canon one.
Youjuu in fact i'd say it is only the hardest to trigger...
Personally I'd say the best ending is "B". But the canon one is the "A+" ending.
there is also a bad ending where Alphonse dies...
the fall of a hero... nice vid
The ending B is far happier
Wait... so I got it without even realising it? I've been searching for the ending that I've already found??? Damn I feel stupid...
That's kinda rough ending OMG! Eleanor Why? :'(
DAMN OLD GAMES ARE NEVER BUILD FOR KIDS...
