one of the great things about Aurora, there are multiple versions of her songs live. sometimes one song will have 3 or 4 different versions, different instruments, different styles, all unique to themselves, of the same song.

This is probably my favorite performance of this song. I know people usually prefer the Nidarosdomen performance, but the simplicity of this performance is all this song needs. I often find myself holding my breath during this performance. It's just so beautiful.

First time I heard this song, it made me a lil weepy. As beautiful as her performance of this song was at Nidarosdomen, there's always been something about this version that I just love.
This is the best accapella performance i have ever heard. The entire band nailed this. Its just without flaw. Auroras performance needs no praise from me, its perfection is simply undeniable. Thanks for the reaction. You made my day.

Sometimes when I see what is going on in the world and see lots of depressing news and tales of humanity's depravity, I wonder if we as a species have any redeeming qualities. Then I watch something like this and I am reminded that there is transcendent beauty in the soul of humanity as well. Stunning performance.

To me the frequency of Aurora's voice is as close to the angel frequency that brings peace and calm. At least that is what I feel is true at least. I have never gotten tired of listening her. I have watched every single video about her since 2016 and I will watch them again. She has touched in me the ability to deal with my own busy brain.

Yeah! Sometimes talking through an AURORA song can feel almost sacrilegious. You can often see her coming back to this world after she goes wherever her music takes her. Such a blessing that she's willing to take us along to whatever that place is.

This song have so many stellar performances. But love this most. When i was heard it for the first time a ugly cry the entire song when my wife hear that i cry she comes and ask why are crying. Beautiful and emotional song. Version from Nidarosdomen and this stripped, accapella version are my favorite live versions of the song. This Aurora performance including back up singers from her band is perfect. Aurora has beautiful voice and that is why she sounds amazing in acoustic or as in this case accapella versions of songs. It is like silk for my ears :).

Hi dear Ashlena ! That was the very first time I saw you getting emotional at the end of a song and it's totally understandable, especially when it comes to Aurora per3forming live. This acappella rendition of "Through the eyes of a child" is so mesmerzing and at the same time so astonishing... but as beautiful as it is, I personally prefer the Nidarosdomen version of this song, but I also love this one here, of course.
I wonder if there will be coming any other Aurora reaction videos from you today, since you wrote that "Believer" would be up today, as well... maybe I just have to wait a little more... we'll see.

I had suggested this version as well, it’s the best one showcasing her vocal skills since it is all A Cappella and the harmonies are out of this world! I am with you… I so want to see Aurora live, but standing in a crowd of people is not enjoyable for me so I am waiting for the right venue no matter how expensive or how far I have to travel. Aurora did sing once in a church in Germany with just her and the guitar. I posted it in another reaction of yours but I will look for it again and post it here. Unfortunately most of her concerts are not professionally taped so we only have fans recording on their phones to share the experience

I think this version has just become my favorite version of this song.
For years it was the Nidarosdomen one....and I still think that's perfect, absolutely perfect. But something about the crystalline purity and clarity of this one sends chills up my spine like nothing else. It is funny tho how I basically _never_ listen to the album version. I mean, it's fine...but so sterile compared to the live versions. Also, I've heard the Nidarosdomen one SO many times now, that when I do listen to the album version...my brain interprets it as sounding "wrong," even though it's obviously _the_ original version lol.

Real quick.... You said you almost want to listen to Aurora vocals _only_ from now on. Well, you may be in luck...!
In an interview from a year or two ago, she mentioned how she's pre-planned ALL her future albums, their themes, tone, genre ideas, etc. And one of those albums will be nothing but the human voice(I imagine 95% Aurora's). Björk did something very similar with her album Medúlla....which I adore. Actually, check out the song Vökuró from that album...it gives me a very similar emotional feeling and vibe to this Aurora performance. It's sung in Icelandic and is entirely vocal layers.

I will be the odd person out here but this is not my favourite version. The “beautiful, echoey version” you mention is from Nidarosdommen. The emotion from her in that version is also incredible.

while this version is amazing, i think the Nidarosdomen version is even better.
Personally, there are days I would agree, and days I wouldn't...for me, which one is better depends on what I need at that moment, I guess. To be hugged gently and musically, or to be lifted and carried away... either way, both are a masterpiece, each in its own magical way.🙂
Nidarosdomen version I think is better because she is really in it completely feeling the song.Also the ending the way she finished the word "here" with the little upswell in pitch.
