@@loommovies thanks! I will definitely do that. I shot two features with the C100s and still love them. Such an underrated image. I just shot two new videos that are coming this week. One is comparing it to the C200 and the other is about a film emulation program. Thanks for watching
you should try the 18-35 with the digital IS turned on. You'll be able to use more of the range with the image punched in for the IS. Can probably function reasonably close to how it did on the C200.
Great video, good reminder that the old lenses don’t stop working! But I only switched to canon with the rf mount as a portrait photographer. So all my lenses are newer.
@@scottlawrencephoto thanks, Scott. I would totally use RF lenses but I had to start with some old favorites. I’m interested in the 15-35, 24-70, 24-105 2.8, and the new VCM primes from Canon. What RF lenses do you have?
@@monellifilms the 24-105 2.8 is great. Little big (sized like a70-200), but great. Also have the 35 VCM-perfect size, made a quick video on that one. I have yet to try my 100 macro. Doing a test video like yours is a good idea just to help me transition to video.
Great video man, that sigma 24-70 is the epitome of a workhorse lens. I'm still on the C70 and use exclusively EF glass on the speed booster, so a lot of these make sense for me as well. The two lenses I have that I would highly recommend at least trying are the 85mm f1.4 L IS, and the Sigma 40mm f1.4 Art. They make one hell of an interview combo!
Thanks i appreciate it. I was considering an 85mm but ended up getting the 100 macro because I felt like I would use it more. I shot an interview with the Canon 85 1.2 and it just looked amazing. Your interviews probably look incredible with those lenses on a C70.
I’m convinced at some point your videos are going to make me buy a c80 and my wife will kick me out of the house for it. Here’s to more great videos and indirectly ending my marriage.
Resistance is futile..😂 I just caved and ordered the C80 as it is back in stock at B&H. As a current C70 owner (which I plan to sell), I am 100% certain that my partner will never know the difference and notice this purchase 😂!!
@ 🎉Enjoy your new camera. You bring up great points. Unfortunately my wife and I share a bank account so unless I can pay b&h in beer, it would be hard hiding it from her. 🍺
@@salvamando1 curious to hear your thoughts in comparison to the C70. I was thinking of a used C70 but ended up going with the C80. I got mine from Adorama. It seems they come in stock for a day or two then sell out.
@@MichaelDAngle thanks, Michael. I have the 24-105 f4 as well but haven’t used it in awhile so I didn’t include it in this video. You have a nice lineup. What camera do you use them with?
Can you share with us your monitor /mic set up on camera? Right now I use the atomos ninja on the cold shoe and flipped the mic mount upside down to put on the c80s handle in order for it to work with both. Warning if you use a windshield on your mic you might see it on cam at 24 mm or wider
@@desot0 thanks for the tip about the atomos ninja. Right now I’m not using any additional monitor, just the LCD screen. But I’m disappointed with the strength of the LCD screen hinge so I might look into a monitor down the road. Right now I just mount my shotgun right to the top handle in its normal position.

My lenses: sigma 14-24 2.8, sigma 35/50, Canon 24-105 F4. Canon 100 Macro 2.8 IS. All EF. I’m considering a major RF overhaul next year. We’ll see. I definitely am missing a long zoom and the RF 70-200 F4 is so small and light.
@@DavidEllsDP that’s a great lineup. Im thinking about the sigma 50mm. I have the canon 24-105 f4 but never use it. I do use the 70-200 2.8 mark III but it belongs to my employer so i didn’t include it. What RF lenses would you get? The 15-35 looks great. Thanks for watching
@@NicolaBianchiDP yeah i love it. I sold it because it was a little long on a super35 sensor for me. I preferred the 35mm focal length. Might have to buy it again. I’m considering the Sigma 50 Art, and even the cheaper non-L canon 50s. I’d love to try the new Canon 50mm VCM
@@ThomasDavis5213 they’re still great lenses and most people would never notice a difference in image quality. The RF lenses are just faster in autofocusing and overall lighter (and might be a little sharper). But EF is working great for me. Thanks for watching.

I love the 100mm macro. Doubles as a good tele prime. And can turn boring b-roll into art as long as you have a tripod.
