    The box looks amazing and the midrange and treble seem very good with a neutral but detailed sound signature. If I were to do it again though maybe emphasize more space for the sub and use a lower port tuning. I'd expect deeper bass from the overall size. Though the sub you linked has no T/S parameters to tune it off of. Parts express has many amazing small 3-5 inch subwoofers that can hit 40hz in a enclosure of that size or smaller. Besides that probably one of your best builds.

      Дизайн как раз на высоте. Вы просто может не привыкли к такому дизайну после магазинных еще. Ну может что то с крепежными болтами подумать или утопить их. А так сам стиль хороший строгий приборный мужской.

    I am think about trying to build something like this but use TPA3116 it has bluetooth buildin and a little more watts,it is a 2x50w + 100w. I am planing on pushing a little bit larger speakers. love the box that you made It all look really nice and easy to take apart if you bust a speaker. I will deffantly take inspiration when building my box.

    • @DTeK
      @DTeK  3 года назад

      Thanks, there are plenty of sites where you can find calculators to help you to tune the woofers and sub woofers but it will increase the size of the speaker box 3 or 4 times (depends the parameters of the speakers), that could be a problem if you want a portable device :)

    Well done. Good craftmanship! (Expect that wiring...)
    But I dont think that woofer did get enough volume. Thats why the bass sounds hollow and has no "deepness". Instead lots of volume was wasted on those midrange speakers and that electronics compartment.
    A 3 way isnt needed anyways with a woofer of that size. That 4 inch woofer can easily play up to like ~2 kHz where the tweeters carry on. With a 2 way you couldve doubled the volume for the woofer and couldve reduced the electronics by like 50%... The result wouldve been a much better sound.
    Oh and consider using a fuse for those 18650 cells, as they can easily burn you house down.

    • @DTeK
      @DTeK  5 лет назад +2

      No i created my own design, about speaker positions i wanted to do it different of my other 2.1 speaker that i did one year ago, about bass reflex and ports i didn´t do any calculations, i have not "unlocked" the ability to tune a subwoofer yet ;) in my future projects i will spend some time to try tu calculate the ports size and other parameters of the sub woofer.

      @@DTeK
      First off I gotta say Im quite impressed with the sound , it puts out a lot volume and is stays clean/clear on a high volume too wich is good.
      I really wouldnt mind to have it at home haha ;) I would use it a lot I think.
      But bass port looks a bit too narrow/small to me , at least I think so.
      Did you also put some damping material inside the box ?
      The bass sounds a bit in the mid range (maybe irl its totaly different?? because I judge by a video now) , changing the port in size will influence this quite a lot.
      Ive made in the past a quite big speaker like 8 times the size you made and I also made a port like that size if I compare speaker size + port , it didnt had a lot of low end untill I made the port bigger.
      I really was amazed that it made such a difference.
      Maybe it would be fun to make something to change fast with different sizes of ports and experiment with it.
      Also those bass ports with curved edges (like carburetor trumpets look) will be better then a straight pipe I guess.
      Where you put it and pipe lenght do things with low end too :P still great build , one decent speaker!
      I recently started to use foil on my wooden cabinets instead of painting speakers , much faster and looks like it came from a factory :) I also like to make them with memory foam glued on it and then stretch PU leather over the edges , easy to work with and looks really neat.

    • @DTeK
      @DTeK  5 лет назад

      Very appreciated for your comment, the bass port could be bigger, i was going to try different port sizes, that was the original ideia, but then i was moving in a good pace through the project and ended with the first port size and pipe.
      Yes painting takes a lot of effort i was tinking about vinyl or syntetic leather, its easy to apply (i hope it will be easy) and its more scrath resistent.

    Wow, that is one epic portable boombox! By far the best one I have seen for a long time, plus it has the VU meters and specifically sized compartments for each speaker!
    Also you went with protected NCR18650B cells - good choice :).
    One question: how would I know what size enclosure/compartment to use if I built my own speaker or boombox, seeing as you made each separate speaker have its own compartment?

    • @DTeK
      @DTeK  5 лет назад

      Thank you, because its portable i didn´t care much about the speaker compartments, if you wants to measure the correct size for the type of speaker you need to know some technical parameters of each speaker and them do all the calculations necessary, most of the portable speakers that you buy barely have any speaker compartment space avaliable.
