My apartment complex also has the 60 day stipulation, but they usually give that notice 90 days in advance of the lease ending. I don’t know why your apartment complex waited until 15 days before your lease ending to give you that reminder. I would be upset about that too.
Most apartments here and rental properties require 60 day notice as well... but they usually send a letter well in advance mentioning are you renewing and what the new rate is or if it's unchanged which here since covid rents been going up each year. So they put the note on your door late to begin with.
I've definitely experienced exactly what your going through. So frustrating! But yes such a pain to get out. Many practices that screw residents over to stay or make more by super late notices by the staff to squeeze the most out of you before you go. Never get your deposit back ect. Your not alone Brynne. Just visualize breaking ties soon when you can and start fresh and learn from this. At least you can see an end, theres been a time where I had to renew and didnt want to stay a whole 13 months again but had no better choices at the time. You got this! Just breathe and keep the little things & positivity.
Good morning Brynne. I really love these talking and sharing videos. It would be great if you could make some longer ones. I hope you find a place you like and its a better fit for you. It seems everyone this day and time is out to who do us with our pocket books.
Hi Brynne ! I have to give 60 days if I plan to vacate my unit but it's at the ten month period of my lease so my rent stays the same. I agree that it should be & in general is a 30 day notice but since the pandemic , the property owners are milking every last dollar they can legally get. What a drag.
our rents are periodic, open ended weekly payments with 3 weeks notice, just recently gone up to 4. we don't have many fixed term tenancies but when you do the end of the lease is the termination date no notice needed. my father is american so if i ever end up there long term i will be looking to buy a house, not very fond of how the rentals work over there.
Yes the shady tactics happen everywhere. Ironically in moving as well. I thought my lease ended at the end of August but it's actually Sept. I paid for the month and I'm counting the days to go. Bad thing is I don't want to leave and this complex was the best I ever had. Ugh.
Yeah that's super shady they send a reminder way past the time they needed for your notice. You should also take a careful look at the security deposit language so you make sure you get that back. And probly also Google any consumer protections in your state because sometimes they limit what the landlord can hold back. Good luck on the search for a new place!
Here in NJ the tenant must give the landlord 60 - 90 days notice that they will not renew the lease. The landlord must also give notice of not offering a renewal, offering a renewal and or rent increase for the new lease at least 60 days notice. So I give my tenants a notice 90 day before the end of the current lease. We give them 30 days to reply in writing so that if they don’t renew I have 60 days to find a new tenant. Every state has their own laws so read your lease but also go online and check the states/city laws.
apartment complexes are such scammers. I had a similar situation occur where I had given the 60 days notice to my building, then my building was sold to another company and they tried to say I hadn’t given them 60 days notice and gave me pay for another month
Most states have a "duty to mitigate damages" requirement for contracts, so they can't just charge you the full lease amount if you break it. They have to try to rent it. Only if they're unable to rent can they collect from you. Idk about MI. Most apts just say that to people.
i’ve never lived in an apartment and i’m grateful i’ve never had to deal with peoples stupidity! 😂 hopefully the new place you move to in the future is so much nicer!
In the UK we have give up to 90 days notice in some instances. It’s to ensure the owner can find someone to move in and meet their mortgage payments in the mean time. We don’t pay additional fees though. Seems ironic they ask you if the money is a reason you are moving out to only slap on a fee regardless and force a 60day rent period.
I’m in the UK I signed a 12-month lease 3.5 years ago. After 12 months it automatically changed to a 1-month rolling contract. As long as I give 30 days notice of leaving I just have to pay my last month and that’s it. It would be a different story if I wanted to leave in the first 12 months, but now it’s just month to month. They tend to put the rent up about £30 every year it year and half. This is just my own situation. I cannot imagine giving 60 days notice. What if something went wrong with your new contract in the 2 months, that’s too risky.
In Italy the standard notice is 6 months. Is that long cause is supposed to protect tenants cause landlords have the same notice obligation towards you.
Wouldn't happen here in Ireland! When your lease runs out, there IS no agreement / contract, so you're free to move with zero notice. Likewise, if there is a 2 month termination clause, THEY would HAVE to notify YOU 2 months in advance of the termination to remind you in case you wanted to renew. Your apartment management company sounds messed up to me. 😬
Wow, sounds like a frustrating time you're experiencing there at Gomer's Apartments.🤨 It's that dang fine print that gets you every time.🧐 I do remember the video where you complained about the trash and dog poop on the ground.💩 Who knows. Maybe once you get into your new place, you'll find yourself missing some of the perks, quirks, and idiosyncrasies of Gomer's.🥺 Things like the window that lets the light in where you record your ASMR videos, the NASCAR, and the AC unit kicking on. Don't laugh, it could happen.🤔 Enjoy your evening.🙂
Ok, I have to be honest, it was a bit funny, just because the way you told it 😂 But obviously it's a situation that would piss anyone off! 60 days is a bit long, it is clear that it is a way to try to make some extra money with a person who will no longer be a customer. So it's not fair and it's not professional at all, the customer feels cheated. Considering the period, leaving this place will be your greatest birthday present 🙌 Just curious, does this mean that at 90% you've found your new apartment or will it be your mission from now until October 20th?
I saw video on YT in the last few days about many people struggling with cost of living and they start not afford to pay rent, so homelessness is increasing
Im French i didnt understand all you speech. But I think you will move soon and your dad said a lot of blablabla. Ahah ! So good luck for your future moving! Peace :)
My apartment tried to kick me out for procrastinating on renewing my lease. I told them they can either send me the paperwork again or be prepared for a lengthy battle in court if they try to evict me. They sent the forms over the next business day.
You know with a title like that and being uploaded on an early Monday morning it’s gonna be juicy. Freaking scam it is, not even counting the absurd fee. I’d be furious.
Your story is way too common, apt mgmt ppl are dumb, and rude, but the least you can do is read your legal contract lol… and the mgmt doesn’t find fees or rent records, their accountants do, and yeah they’d find it lol
My apartment complex also has the 60 day stipulation, but they usually give that notice 90 days in advance of the lease ending. I don’t know why your apartment complex waited until 15 days before your lease ending to give you that reminder. I would be upset about that too.
Be glad they gave a reminder at all lol, it’s months prior or not at all

Good Morning Beez ! 🌞 Where I live you have to give 30 days notice. 60 seems a bit extreme. 🤪😉
Oh BEEZ! ❤I hope you have a great start to the week 🙌🏼 Cheer up! Always moving forward ☺️ I'm glad you're doing well! ✨❣️❣️💐
Love the Jays hoody!

Good morning, Brynne! I hope the moving process is going well! 😇☕️
Damn that’s crazy. Some really good advice here
Beautiful as always 🤩 HAPPY Monday Brynne
I can’t wait for you to do more GREAT ASMR videos with no background noise. That will be spectacular! ❤

I worked with apartments for 2 years of my life and they are shady. Very shady.
Yes the shady tactics happen everywhere. Ironically in moving as well. I thought my lease ended at the end of August but it's actually Sept. I paid for the month and I'm counting the days to go. Bad thing is I don't want to leave and this complex was the best I ever had. Ugh.

Will you please film a vlog while you’re talking to the front office? I want to be a fly on the wall to pissy Beez. 😂

First thing to do while signing a lease is to read the leaving delay notice, always. Ouch indeed 🤕…
Can you Airbnb it as a short term rental option?
The sixty days notice is one thing, but charging you additional money beyond the amount your rent is sounds shady. I would really look into that.
I’m in the UK

60 days is standard practice here in Canada.
That’s funny you ask to see if it’s in writing, even though you don’t read the agreements anyway lol

❤
This vid makes me happy i live in Europe
What a shitty situation sorry Brynne ❤ but I’ll give you some advice that you always give us and that’s “everything will be okay”
You should have told him you did give notice in July.
Ok, I have to be honest, it was a bit funny, just because the way you told it 😂
But obviously it's a situation that would piss anyone off! 60 days is a bit long, it is clear that it is a way to try to make some extra money with a person who will no longer be a customer. So it's not fair and it's not professional at all, the customer feels cheated.

was your lease up? i’m confused like if it was up and you hadn’t renewed for the next year why would you have to notify?
My thoughts exactly!
$1300 for rent? I wont pay more than 1k for a mortgage.
I saw video on YT in the last few days about many people struggling with cost of living and they start not afford to pay rent, so homelessness is increasing
Yay two more months of nascar! lol that sucks though.
Were I live you noramlly have to give 3 months notice
WHAT
@@BrynneTV Yes, here in Germany it is even prescribed by law how long the notice period is.
probably could just not pay those extra fees. Legal expenses not worth it for them to pursue the claim
Im French i didnt understand all you speech. But I think you will move soon and your dad said a lot of blablabla. Ahah ! So good luck for your future moving! Peace :)
You’re so perfect Beez
My apartment tried to kick me out for procrastinating on renewing my lease. I told them they can either send me the paperwork again or be prepared for a lengthy battle in court if they try to evict me. They sent the forms over the next business day.
🤣😂😂😅🤣
How are you so beautiful?
RJ
Um lol normally you have to notify them 2 to 3 months prior, why would they put notice 15 days prior if they need 60 days lol
Don't get on the wrong side of Brynne!
60 days is very standard practice lol. Sorry beeeez :/
Noooooo!!! 🤦🏼♀️😂
You know with a title like that and being uploaded on an early Monday morning it’s gonna be juicy. Freaking scam it is, not even counting the absurd fee. I’d be furious.
Malicious intent 🫣🫣🫣
The lease agreement is a law binding contract, how did you not read it nor your parents read it lol, even they would just know how it works
This sucks, 2 months is crazy. I hate you have to pay so much extra😢
this entire american tipping culture keeps me confused af
Your story is way too common, apt mgmt ppl are dumb, and rude, but the least you can do is read your legal contract lol… and the mgmt doesn’t find fees or rent records, their accountants do, and yeah they’d find it lol
I don t wont😢😢😢
I don see you on eyer glasses please 😢😢😢😢
I’m sure mommy and daddy will bail you out. 😜
This comment confuses me and I’ve seen others- why?
