  • Hey RUclipsrs,
Here is a new tune of mine called "thirty years later" that I'm playing with my Gibby ES350. This guitare was called "the poor man L5" when it came out in in the early '50s. It's a laminated top that works great for a dry jazz tone. Hope you'll enjoy the sound of it. Happy Xmas to you all.
Recording chain: Guitar - Princeton (hand wired model) - Sure SM81 - Digital Audio Workstation.

    My man Freddy!
That was some of the best music I’ve heard in a long time.
Your playing is always so deliberate and perfect. A classy display of guitar euphoria. The guitar sounds incredible. Your phrasing brings out everything that guitar was meant be. The spacing between everything allows the listener to hear the guitar in full display. Front and center. Nothing wasted. Everything that was meant to be there is, is there.
There is no need for fluff Whalen you can play like that, and when a masterpiece guitar sounds that great.
That was a gift. Thank my good man.

Joey; how good it is to read from you. Thank you for your kind words, that's really too much. Too bad we are on each side of the pond as we could share great moments in real life, just chatting about guitars and life. Waiting for your next video with your inimitable sound. Have a wonderful Christmas brother.

Delightful as always! Incidentally, I think it says ES-50 at the beginning. Type O?

Beautiful tone and nice playing, thank you. The es-350 full body is the best archtop ever made in my opinion. I like the old p90 it is more dry and woody than a humbucker and the only thing that comes close to it, is a Levin 315 with a D'Armond. Great combination with the PR64 HW, I also use this combination of guitar and amp and found putting a celestion gold 10 inch in the PR64 HW a huge improvement. Have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2024. Cheers.

The guitar and pup's Chuck Berry used?

Almost but not exactly. I think he used a 350T model which is a thin line version. Close but not the same.
