How deplorable that they could not find one person who could act to be in this show. Each and every one of these cringeworthy "actors" has no breath control, is accutely aware of the camera at all times, and cannot speak a word of dialogue without the idiotic head bob/tilt. Just wow.
Is there any particular reason in the books that no one kills the sandworms by attracting them with those thumping things and have them eat massive bombs? Seems like barely an inconvenience to get rid of them.
@@scatmanskabadop no one outside the Fremen knows this until after the current end of the 2nd movie. The real reason is that it’s just impractical. The sandworms are basically invincible, barring their weakness to water, as shown in the fourth book. Even Lasguns which can cut through any material are unable to penetrate the skin of a sandworm. The explosive power required to kill one would be at least nuclear, and such explosions are banned in the empire.
@@pigoverlord8250 , it's not like the explosion would have to obliterate it to kill it. Getting the explosive force on the inside of the impenetrable skin would give it access to whatever vital organs it contains. I've never read these books or seen these movies, but I have no doubt that the worm, while probably still intact, would be very much dead after ingesting an explosive device.

Since it's all kind of loosely based on the world-building notes of Frank, bastardized by his son Brian after his death....not really. There COULD be some interesting things done here, but after seeing the disaster that was the most recent 'attempt' at Dune...well, I wouldn't hold my breath.

The films were great, the tv show has been mediocre at best.
