They weren't really getting better, or at least not noticably so. The problem is they very much became known as "The Micheal Bay transformer movies" and became known for being almost entirely sex jokes, explosions, and little actual interesting writing. Micheal Bay's style and refusal to listen to fans TIRED of his style killed the franchise. He even said once that he didn't care if people hated his movies because they'd go to see them anyway ... well this became less and less true as the general public finally got tired of him. I doubt he cares though ... he made what ... 6 very profitable movies? Dude is probably set for life so he's already won. It's the fans that lost as he milked what they loved for profit and left it's husk to rot. Transformers One was a great chance to revive it. But bad marketing and Hasbro made sure to kill that remaining hope.
When $129.4m is considered tanking you need to fire whoever was in charge of the budget because the movie shouldnt have cost more than that to make in the 1st place According to sources, the budget was 75m, but production ran up to as high as almost 150m in costs
The main reason I avoided Transformers One at the cinema was Chris Hemsworth, and there are two reasons for that. 1 - I'm kinda getting sick of seeing him in 'everything' now. Granted, he's not at Chris Pratt level yet, but he's getting there. 2 - I'm just not quite ready yet to let go of Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. Like, I know it's gonna happen one day because he's not immortal, but I'm just not there yet. That being said, I have seen it now and it was better than I expected but I still wish they'd cast someone other than Thor as Prime.
The only sure thing left seems to be James Bond. Never mind the endless sequels for the other franchises and concentrate on getting 007 back on the big screen.
Wasteland should've been first and furiosa depending on the success of a sequel. What a stupid idea, even if the character was popular. I liked Transformers One, but it doesn't need a sequel. I'm glad they made the decision to go one-and-done.
Shame about Fletch. That movie was really good and deserved a sequel. Jon Hamm crushed the role.
This is why you never never ever...... end a movie or a tv show on a cliffhanger for a sequel or a just chance that there could be another part two. Even if you have a power house actor leading them. You give fans hope that there will be and then nothing.
@@johnmoore2344 the director of a show x on netfix should have written into his contract that he atleast get to make 2 seasons so he has a chance to finish the story properly unless its a mini series and only have 1 season
The should've done a logan style mad Max with Mel Gibson
Several reasons why movies are not doing as well as they did in the past. One is high resolution TVs and streaming services. Second is going to see a movie is expensive. In the U.S. one person would pay $30 dollars for a ticket and food/drinks.
Transformers One was a masterpiece, but if anyone ever thought it would make hundreds of millions at the box office they are delusional. It should be either made direct to stream or as a proper anime by a japanese studio. Hollywood are not only crazy, they are also stupid, it seems.
No one wanted a mad Max film without mad Max.
mel gibson is a racist piece of shit. fury road and furiosa were both perfectly fine movies.
It was also just not very good. A lot of awful-looking CGI as well.
@@Matticitt fury road and furiosa were not bad movies. furiosa had a few minor problems but nothing serious.
@@deepwaterlife48 why are you talking about Fury Road? I never mentioned it. Fury Road is one of the best action movies ever made. It won six Oscars. Furiosa is a boring mess filled with awful CGI. I've never been so bored watching an action movie.
@@Matticitt exaggeration much? furiosa is not that bad.

Literally everyone who developed and worked in the movie is optimistic that a sequel will be made so this really should not be in this list
Just because Hasbro isn’t funding movies anymore doesn’t mean jack on if the movie will happen or not, it just means Hasbro no longer has a say on how the movie will turn out
Unless yall have full confirmation that things aren’t happening, you shouldn’t put movies on the list
“Confess, Fletch” was brilliant.
Aubrey Plaza was born for a John Waters movie!
I hardly ever go to the movies but I would have for a John Waters film!
Anyone else came expecting the Snow White movie to be on this list? Also, I am glad Eternals 2 got canceled... Sorry for the fans, but I am not ready to see Harry Styles as an actor... There is only one David Bowe and that's that.
Nah that one is too big, too expensive, and they've been too public about forcing it on us to cancel it now. God I hope I'm wrong about this...
Yes
@@HoundMonkey
Nobody "forces" a movie on you. They put it out. You see it or you don't.
With all of the negative publicity on Snow White, that alone will bring in people just wanting to see what's up. Don't you think? ☺
@@jamesseabolt5915 unfortunately, I agree
Me: [watching/listening to Ellie].......[video ends] ..... what was this about again? I got a bit distracted. Oh, movies that got canned before production. [watches again] Yeah, no big loss.
Seriously, though, could we get Ellie reading, oh, I don't know, some book of Brit Lit or something? The Hobbit or Pride & Prejudice? I'm not picky.
2:09 ..."The Woman", from Sherlock. Right there. Lara Pulver. Little Easter egg for you.
not a surprise on Transformers One failing it was a hard watch given that there were no surprises at all and everything that you knew was gonna happen happened a great twist in the end would have saved it subverting expectations but sadly they were just so lame to do anything interesting and only those heavily nostalgic fanboys would have loved it.
I auditioned for an indie zombie movie 30+ years ago. My audition even made the news…not that it was ME, but that a movie was going to be made in our town. I was called and offered a part, and happily accepted. This was to be my first professional acting job. Two weeks later they called me back to tell me that the film had lost its financial support. I asked why and he said that banks don’t generally want anything to do with pornographic movies. I said “What kind of movie?!” He laughed and said, “Oh was I not clear that this was porn?”Uh, no, you most certainly were not!
There’s no reason these poorly thought out projects should be budgeted over $25M with 3-5 more on marketing. Then making $175M isn’t failing.
Snider needs to release the extended cuts first before the netflix cuts the extended cuts tell a far superior story with much better world building and would have been recieved with much more favourable reviews
I think it kinda sucks that the Transformers movies were starting to get better while the box office tapered off. Is that irony or a coincidence?
Or maybe they weren't actually getting better.
Wasteland would've done well where Furiosa failed. Furiosa should've came 3rd.
Well, that's a shame for MM: Wasteland. I haven't seen Furiousa yet, but overall, all the mad max movies are great.
When $129.4m is considered tanking you need to fire whoever was in charge of the budget because the movie shouldnt have cost more than that to make in the 1st place
According to sources, the budget was 75m, but production ran up to as high as almost 150m in costs
I struggle to see how you can make a good Transformers movie with an under 50 million dollar budget , though.
Have to say, i dont mind any of these cancelations. havent seen any good movies in some time. currently watching apple tvs silo.
Sounds like it was a good call canceling these movies.
I always thought of Army of the Dead as a prequel to Snyder's 2004 Dawn Of The Dead.
The only sure thing left seems to be James Bond. Never mind the endless sequels for the other franchises and concentrate on getting 007 back on the big screen.
This was def made a couple of months ago since she said this film was sched for later this year (liarmouth) when its already almost end of year
Good catch
The less things written or directed by Zach Snyder the better.
Wasteland should've been first and furiosa depending on the success of a sequel. What a stupid idea, even if the character was popular.
Also Rise of the Beasts could've been very successful, but instead of delivering on the promise of a LA version of "Beast Wars" we got a weird mismash of 2-3 different films and nothing to do with the beloved Cartoon
Furiosa is one of the best films of 2024, and a great cinema experience. It's a big shame it bombed.
That sucks about Fletch. Hamm was fantastic and nailed the character, but it literally had zero marketing. I didn’t even know it existed until I ran across it by accident.
Another Fletch would have been great. Jon did a great job in the role.
Why the heck would they make a prequel to max max instead of a sequel like cmon
I didn't realize they were even making an Eternals 2 film. After the first film did so badly I didn't think they had even considered making another.
The problem is that the money people thank that just because someone got lucky with one movie they must be the next great one. They think that people will flock to a movie that is junk just because of some previous movie, thank of the MC and how they have become junk.
Not happy about there Snyder cut stunt and cancelling his planet of the dead when it was there idea to do what they did with rebel moon
TF One deserves a sequel. Unlike Rise of the Beasts, TF One is a phenominal movie with loads of emotion and hear poured into it. Damned shame that the Bayverse burnt out the audiences, and the trailers for TF One focusing on being a childrens romp instead of what it actually turned out to be.
Joaquin Phoenix reportedly turned down Brokeback Mountain because of the sex scenes. I guess he was felt he missed out and tried to create his own
You really got to love how the studio gave a Furiosa prequel that no one was asking for instead of a Max sequel with Tom Hardy and now because of their F up they decide to punish the fans for it. It's this kind of asinine studio decision making that allows "Pitch Meeting" to produce so many enjoyable videos.
Snyder just makes some really really bad and bland movies
Eternally grateful that there will be no Eternals 2.
I get it! Saw what you did there!
I don't get the hate Eternals had. I thought the movie was fine and actually had some interesting ideas such as the Eternals inspiring religion around the world.
* Arrested Development movie.
* Footage not found.
Claiming finished but unrealeased movies as tax losses should be banned.
Simon Starring Harland Williams and I Just Saw Slacker Cats months ago great show Disney shouldn't try to bury this cult classic wish I could watch Simon though I'm also a Harland Williams fan
When Marvel announced the return of RDJ to the MCU as Doctor Doom, it wasn't because they were desperate, instead, it was because of the legal issues that Johnathan Majors found himself in, causing Marvel to scrap the Kang story arc in the next two Avengers films, so, please do not say it was a desperate move, ever again. Also, there is another Transformers film being developed; the Transformers/GI Joe crossover.
I like the idea of Hemsworth playing Hulk Hogan.
That sucks that Madmax: Wasteland got cancelled.
Nobody wanted to see Furiosa, everyone wanted to see wasteland.
Oh yes, rush out to see a film nobody wanted. lol
Transformers One was such a good movie. Its a shame that it failed.
Transformers One...AAAANNND done! My nephews went to see it and the "meh" expression just said it all...
This is the first I'd ever heard of the Fletch reboot; might have to check it out 🤔
Transformers One was such an incredible movie but it's just sad that it took us 7 movies to finally get it.....then it flopped, marking was awful
Of course, the cancellation of a film near ready for release has nothing to do with tax breaks.
Mel Gibson is the only Mad Max
Not enough.
Also, what is most of this?
But also: Please not Alita. Not Alita. Not Alita. Not Alita. Not Alita. Hooray! Not Alita!
I didnt even know there was a jon hamm fletch movie
There a lot of these guys don’t cared for but I did want to see the Hogan bio pic, the Mad Max Wasteland. Furiousa was a let down, I don’t even watched it throughly. Stop before she grew up.
