Inherited my dad’s Gen 3 G17.. a great gun. He was a 30yr retired MGYSGT (USMC) and that was the gun he kept in his nightstand until he passed at the good age of 87. Boy, do I miss him. The G17, eats anything, and points like a good bird dog. I’ve done a few minor mods: lighter trigger spring, smooth slide release, and Trijicon sights. It now is in my nightstand and will be there until one of my 3 sons gets it.
These are great training pistols for folks that want to save a bit on ammo. I've had one since last spring and it's been a fun little pistol. Still surprised Glock doesn't offer higher cap magazines like the Pro mags. I have a couple of the Pro mags and they're half decent.
Buddy of mine got one of these when they first came out.. Nice little pistol.. he also got the baby Browning 1911 in 22. Also a great little pistol.. I remember when I first heard about the Glock 44,, I was like Awesome! I want a 44 Magnum Glock.. then I found out it was a 22.. I felt cheated! lol .. I still want a 44 Magnum Glock tho.
I hold a rental one for shooting range and felt it was a bit small for me so if I buy a .22 LR pistol from Glock, I want a full sized .22 alternative to Glock 17.
