EOTECH Makes a Premium LPVO | 1-10x Vudu

- The Vudu 1-10x is basically the best 10x lpvo on the market, by a fairly wide margin.
But is a good LPVO? Meh. Depends.

Thanks for the review, I have the Vortex Razor 1-10x on an ADM 308, and I honestly think it belongs there, while the EOtech is a decent offering, after about 2 years with the 1-10x I just love what that thing can do and a daylight bright optic is a must for me in the woods of the upper midwest as I've hunted with it in the last 2 years, plus the reticle from Vortex is nice with that semi transparent dot (which wasn't on the Eotech 1-10 with the MOA reticle I played with at my LGS), now you can tell me its not $1200 dollars nicer and I would agree, but I got my Razor 1-10x for about $1680 with a Veterans/ LEO discount, and for that I would argue puts it over the top. Now if I was going to mount an LPVO on a 5.56 AR, I would look to a 1-6x or possibly 1-8x scope that was much more versatile in all situations
Mmm, mm yes mm, quality content. My soul has been relieved
That Vortex is an _expensive_ boat anchor ($1680 _after_ the LE/Veteran discount... blech). 2.5-10X with an off-set is just a far more viable and well thought out set-up IMO.
@@DB.KOOPERVortex 1-10x is 21.5oz vs 21.3 of the Eotech 1-10x, a 2.5-10x Primary Arms is 22.5 Oz so adding in an offset is even more weight
Vortex razor 1-10 is a great scope. I liked my first one so much that I ended up buying a second one. Paid about $1700 for both.
I bet That ADM in .308 is pure heavenly. Nice setup…. Spendy but really nice 👍
Like your reviews. Got the eotech vudu 1-10x SR5. I've run it in timed drills /courses of fire out to distance-- 600yds The eyebox at 10x is fantastic! I run a vltor emod stock and can get behind glass in prone very comfortably as well as on barricades, etc. More forgiving than razor 1-10x but proper cheekweld and rifle setup makes the Razor GTG in terms of eyebox. The 28mm objective, like on the Trijicon credo 1-8FFP, gathers more light and makes it feel like I'm looking through a higher magnification scope. Just 1st hand feedback from an actual owner. I run arisaka 45 offset for a red dot that's zeroed at 50/200 with 75gr bthp. It's a phenomenal lpvo and arguably the best on the market!
I'm quite fond of my Vudu 1-10 as well, but with the LE-5 reticle. It is amazing for the price and the parallax is set at 200 yards versus 100 with the Razor and most other LPVOs allowing a little more forgiveness at longer distances.
@Super61Blackhawk nice dude! Where did you find the 200m parallax info. I'll look at eotech site but dit recall seeing that spec. 200m parallax on an LPVO is great!
@@kiteokoh2652 I agree; I haven't seen it anywhere, but I called their customer service number and asked.
Finally!! The vudu has gracefully got it's just deserves!!! I've come to realize the sweet spot in this lpvo craze is in the 1-6 range. I'm totally happy running a vudu 1-6 ffp sr1. Great content bro!! Been waiting for this review. 🙌 & I've got a new/spare PSL lever for the vudu from trajectory arm's. Would you like it? I don't need 2 of them & that's what I ended up with. Lol
I just purchased a brand new Steiner M8Xi 1-8 LVPO for $1,560. I determined I wanted the best picture possible. Apparently, Steiner revised these long before Sage Dynamics did their video on them. I physically could not find a better scope for that kind of money. I am gonna hold off on any higher magnification optics for now. 8X is good enough. I determined there are downsides with every single scope on the market.
You bought a $4200 scope for $1560? The lowest I could find a new one for was around $2800.
Might be a boring video but it'd be cool to see what y'alls storage solutions are like or what you recommend for a safe for apartment life

I’m glad I’m not the only one
Thanks for talking me out of considering this as a LPVO option FOR ME. Seriously! 😁
Brutally honest and to the point review. I'll pass. I'm a sucker for ACSS Reticles anyway. I agree with DIB001 "Why hasn't this guy been picked up? Perhaps his witty banter and painfully honest reviews." LOL! Love the dog...
honestly still kicking myself for not getting them on eotech's black friday sale at $1250 honestly competitive at that price
NGL, I'm honestly debating getting one of these but in 1-6. I currently have a Tango-6T on one of my 14.5's and it's definitely not bad, but, I've realized from it, that I don't need anything higher than a 1-6. Also, the Tango-6T is so damn heavy, I'm extremely confident that I could literally beat someone to death with it. Seriously.
I love my Eotech Vudu 1-6x but up front, the illumination absolutely sucks a butt. It's only good for dusk/overcast-ish conditions. Adjusting magnification is pretty stiff too. That being said, I run it on my Hellion and likely will leave it on there for quite some time. Their 1-8X is basically the Vortex Razor 1-8X they skipped to make the 1-10X.
REKKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Great video, been waiting for your views on the eotech.
You get a like just for the rekke comment
I've considered the 1-6 or 1-8 for my 12.5 because the price point is very attractive.
I just don't see the purpose in going to a 1-10X over my 2.5-10X with an off-set RDS. In my experience it's a LOT faster to transition to the red dot then it is to dial back even a 1-8x LPVO to 1x for up close stuff. I hunt (deer) in the N.Idaho mountains with a 6.5 Grendel AR and I run the same PA 2.5-10x/off-set RDS set-up on that rifle as my main long-gun and I've taken 2 deer that surprised me walking out at ~20 and ~35yds respectively with the off-set red dot. It took more tim eto decide if they were shooters then it did to get on target and let the round go.
Great content mate, love this channel and all the "gear autism" you give us. Keep up the awesome work.

Just put a prs lite on my 1-6 gpr. Game changer. Superior cheek weld equals much less scope shadow while on the move.
Stellar delivery on the warning disclaimer
I feel justified by going to the NF NXS 2.5-10x42mm. Same weight, same price.
I’d love to see you review a few *ultra premium* LPVOs that supposedly get around some of these issues like the March compact tactical shorty, nightforce S-VPS Milspec, Schmidt Bender’s weird thingamabobs, etc. Of course they’re hilariously expensive, but I’m curious to know if they’ve actually figure this 1-10x/1-8x conundrum out.
1-8 isn’t really a conundrum. The S&B is fantastic but prices are dumb
Just saw these optics IRL. They looked good but always like to see someone with some time behind it
I have been extremely underwhelmed with the 1-10 offerings on the market. Honestly between the eye relief, the mediocre glass on both ends of the magnification scale and weight, I just cant get into it. I checked this one out and the Vortex 1-10 and honestly was disappointed. Get an ATACR 1-8, NX8, VCOG 1-8/1-6, S&B 1-8 or MK8 1-8. I wan’t to finger fuck a PLX 1-8 or even their new compact PLX but nobody here in Utah has one. Thanks for the review!
Your analogies are gold. I can’t stop laughing. 😂😂😂
Thanks for the video. That smooth jazz voice is perfect for this format.
“Make sure you’re not getting 10x lpvo on your gun just for the sake of getting a 10x lpvo on your gun”
This is solid advice as dumb as it may sound..I am ashamed to admit I fell into this trap without properly thinking it through. I thought lack of parallax adjustment would be fine but turned out I really needed it for my SPR…who knew!?
Anyway great video this is an optic I have been very interested in since it came out
Thanks for a very comprehensive review. I was considering a 1-10 for a mid range duty on a .308, but I'm not so sure now after your comments about the performance on longer range and the absence of parallax adjustment.

I feel like eotech wanted to get into the scope game, but basically tried to ride their holographic sights as the hype. They have all the right components, just seems to fall short where I need it to be. I had the 1-6, and ended up selling it. Settled on the razor 1-6 in the end, but that thing is still heavy as all get out and the reticle is limiting at extended distances for holds. Really been eyeing the PLXc for the weight and what you get from it - for roughly the same price
I don't know why everyone has gotten so sucked into the topic of scope optics recently. I've picked up a few things here and there, and I'm amused that things keep coming in waves. Via the grapevine, someone pointed out that the LPVO was a 3-gun thing, because you could only have one optic... At the same time, LPVO's really tend to struggle on the low end, and the high end of their magnification range, and the take-away from the SPR/SAPR videos I've seen from both you and hop, as well as Nutn tend to focus on lower power optical scopes (2-10, 3-9x) While Hop's observation that you all got smoked by a dude with a 4-16x.
For those of us in the western deserts, the higher-medium 4-14,16 etc are really amazing, and I'm still confused why people try to hammer away with LPVOs and other devices that just aren't that tuned for the environment. I think what I just keep coming back to, is I just don't need a 1x power setting, I'm not sure I need a 2x power setting. I run a 3x prism on one gun and I kinda wish that was more. There's a lot of development and R&D being sunk into the 1-24x, but the obvious trade-offs in terms of exit pupil, and the biggest one for me: Objective lens size just make me confused why people keep torturing their wallets with LPVOs, without a real METC (yea, i'm co-opting the acronym for myself).
We're all capitalists here, and if it tickles your fancy to buy one, do it. I'm just always searching for the underlying logic beneath that purchasing choice.
Word Bro
It’s a popular way to spend money and keep up with the Jones.
I think I needed to read this to push me over the edge towards a 5-30x56.
@@illestdomer2005 only question when you go that big is what the size and weight constraints are.
@@highdesertdrew1844 I feel like my shoulders and upper back can handle the 36-39oz of the Optika6 or Ares UTR vs $2,500+ range. I really don’t want to buy Chinese, but the Ares UTR just appears to be outstanding for the money.
That said, I love the PA reticles; so, I am also heavily considering just plunking down the money for a PLx compact or a GLx 4-16 as a happy medium. I am almost researched out where I just need to make a decision and stop looking.
If it’s a bright day the illumination on 1X is useless but the etched reticle is as clear as an illuminated EoTech so the Vudu 1-10 on 1X is just as fast as an EoTech on 1X. If the lighting situation is dimmer then the illumination makes the extremely visible etched reticle illuminated.
If you are taking shots beyond CQB then you have time to aim small and good luck finding better glass at distance on a 1-10 or 1-8 without spending $2,800 and beyond.
I spent $1,300 on my 1-10 VUDU and others I know have spent $1,200 adjacent. There is NO competition in the sub $2,000 range. The NX8 is not anywhere near as good as the VUDU 1-10. It just has a brighter reticle. The Razor 1-10 is a thousand dollars better than a VUDU 1-10 so if you have the coin then get that.

Great video as usual! I appreciate your honest reviews!
I am most definitely tipsy (maybe drunk), but I love the sass. Commenting on how eotech is a decade behind on certain features 😂
Been using this one for a while (with an offset), and I quite like it, though I agree with everything you said in this video. In theory, I'd just change it to a 2-10, but the size/weight difference still makes this one the winner for now.
Great video man. Looking forward to the review you do on that PST
Everyone compares the Razor gen 3 1-10, and the Vudu. Meanwhile March has a 1-10, with parallax adjustment, that is under 18 oz, 8 inches in length, with a dual focal plane reticle (red dot on sfp and tree on ffp), decent eye relief, exit pupil on par with the Razor and Vudu, and price point comparable to the Razor. Not sure how the depth of field compares, but hey you have an adjustible parallax. It's also from a company that is held in the same regard as SB, Zies, Khales, and Tangent Theta. And if you're one of those weirdos that doesn't care about FOV, and intermediate magnification, or that always dials, they have a SFP (with adjustable parallax) at almost the same price as a Vudu.
Seems pretty good for a 16" .308 SASS under the 2-10 leupold....if only they had better reticle options
From my internet "research" I managed to come to the same conclusion. It just seems like its overlooked. But now that you made a video calling it premium the price on the used market is going to jump. Thanks BF lol
The more I hear of people dropping Gs on scopes, the happier I am for getting a new trijicon accupoint with the green triangle for only 600 bucks.
for the pricepoint it makes more sense to go for a PA PLX compact 1-8x...
yeeeerp
I concur. That 10x is aids. I kept it on 8 pressing it out. Wish it had the nuclear bright as well. I returned to COG life.
Oh thank god, I was beginning to think I was secretly a psychopath stroking my rifle as I watch youtube videos.
I would love to hear the justification of not having daylight bright illumination. Especially when they went to such lengths to include their signature reticle. I get that it probably would have sucked up battery life, but the tradeoff would have been worth it.
Came close to an EoTech as I love the Holographic but I found a 1-5x Weaver local and I'm very happy with it. Paid half of what the EoTech is.
LOL! I see what you did there with the intro in regard to my comment on your last video. 🤣
I don't think there's such a thing as too much magnification on an lpvo. It's a first focal plane, if you want a wider field of view or a more forgiving I box, you can just zoom back to less magnification. The bullet drop and range estimating will still be accurate because it's FFP.
This scope is stupid expensive though, which is why I got the Primary Arms 1 to 10 FFP.
2.5-20x ATRO-20 is a heavy hitter. Descent low end up to 20. Offset red dot best if you must have 1x.
Here I place my offering to the algorithm overlords. Great stuff as always
Was seriously considering this scope for a build until I watched this video... BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD I GUESS!!!

Capped windage

You’ve pushed me further towards the NXS 2.5-10
I have that on my 16" with an offset RMR. You won't be disappointed. Only downside is exposed windage. SFP makes the reticle usable on 2.5x. Weighs less than most LPVOs and trounces them in functionality.
@@jonbartholomew84 Yeah the only thing holding me back now is the SFP
@@jrcumming997r6 Yeah man its definitely a thing for a lot of guys. I actually like it on that magnification range because the 2.5x is somewhat usable, but I certainly understand its not what some guys are looking for. Compromises...

I dare you to review a prism scope from Monstrum. I doubt you will even have to pay for it, “hello I am famous give me product” and you’ll likely get it.
You want a good 10x buy an actual range scope rather than an LPVO. Got a 3x-10x on my 14.5. Makes for very good sight picture for PID purposes.
Nobody should be happy at all about that price in 2022, I spent a grand a few times on nice FFP scopes and honestly my 1-10x SFP Arrowhead LPVO from Swampfox that was less than $450 is a great price for a damn good scope. So a third of the cost, man screw spending over a grand on glass, it’s not necessary in 2022, not at all. All I did was waste money not buying nothing but the 1-10x SFP Arrowhead’s, they’re amazing scopes. Ya got too many cons to justify that price of $1600, even if you got it on sale for $1400, that’s a lot of dough. I will be buying more of the Arrowhead LPVO in the future. I’m no longer a Vortex only fanboy, I love em, but I’ve come to buy other brands lately to test the waters and I’ve found that Swampfox’s scopes and red dots are truly great, while I own several Vortex Venom’s I put a Swampfox red dot on a Dagger recently that worked great. Do yourself a favor and get an Arrowhead LPVO, if you’re gonna spend four figure on an optic get a damn good thermal scope and don’t look back.
The March 1-10 shorty remains undefeated with it's weight, size and parallax adjustment. It beats my razor 1-10. The razor only has maybe around 10% brighter illumination. Dual focal plane is neat too.
the price as well. that's the big reason I haven't touched one yet
@@BrassFacts I mean, Deon Optics does pushes what is possible with current technology , and I think anyone that is a customer of their optics understands they are paying for a early adopter tax. But Swarovski, Zeiss, Leopold Mark 8 and the Vortex Razor and Night Force ATCAR lines seems to follow what Deon makes at the premium to super premium level . Someone has to do it I guess, less you want stagnation, it ultimately makes it way to mid range and low range optics in time (say 10 to 15 years IMO).Vortex has leaked pictures of what looks like a shorty LPVO, something that Deon's March F 1-10 shorty had a year ago, it's no coincidence. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a vortex 1-8 razor shorty soon then a 1-10 in a couple of years. By then we'll see a MPVO that is 1-12 with dual reticles and parallax adjustment from DEON that doesn't suck.
@@namenotfound8747 I dont disagree that they're worth price.
But I am a poor boy.

Really liking your Optics Reviews. Stumbled across them while doing LPVO research. But it's extremely hard to actually find something that would be worthy enought to replace my 1-6 Delta Striker HD... unless you step up to a Kahles or Swarovski maybe...
I was kind of interested in trying this out, but goddamn do I fucking HATE rotating optical assemblies. Made the ATACR unusable for me because scope caps that stay in place are a must in my opinion. Shame.
