    This vehicle is one of the very few that the rear seat backs actually fold "flat". A lot of makers claim that, but they usually have a slight incline. Most reviewers don't mention that. Anyway, my two cents worth. Thanks for the video.

    Great review as always. Looks to me like a true 4 seater only and the mpg is a bit weak in a crowded segment.
    For a higher trim model this thing looks very spartan. I bailed on Honda after 2013 and owned too many to count since 1986. Not sure this would win me over. The max 5000 lb. tow rating is a nice start for Honda!

    Can you do an off-road review for the Honda passport?

    • @ibdustin15
      @ibdustin15 4 года назад +2

      It’s very similar to the Subaru Outback. I bought a Passport 10 days ago. The Passport is superior in some ways though...... the automatic transmission doesn’t cut power like Subaru’s CVTs do, the AWD has a “simulated” locking rear differential, the passport has a crawl ratio for off-roading, and the V6 has tons of power to get through any obstacle. The Passport also has a better approach and departure angle. However the outback has a slightly better break over angle.
      The biggest problems with the Passport are it’s 20 inch rims (if you actually got the vehicle to do some off road adventures) and the 8.1 inches of ground clearance. They do offer a Honda partnered leveling kit from Jsport. With bigger tires and the leveling kit the Passport can reach over 10 inches ground clearance.
      Make no mistake though.... you won’t keep up with a body on frame truck/jeep/suv when it comes to off-roading. In return they can’t keep up with the Passport performance on the road which you’ll spend the majority of your time.
      This thing is fast too. It’s been tested as low as 5.6 seconds 0-60 and 14.7 1/4 mile times.

    I don't tow so I bought a Hyundai Santa Fe Ultimate 2.0 The Passport drove great but I felt the interior was not much of an upgrade to my wife's 2013 Honda Crosstour (Which has the same drivetrain) It was also almost 10k more. The interior quality of the Santa Fe was much nicer and it had tons more equipment. 20 inch tires are also a huge expense. Honda will sell many of these but I would go for an RDX if I had to spend 44k for the Passport.

      Dan Dawson Yes. I agree. I ended up buying the 2019 Honda Pilot LX and there was some great information in the video, I would have liked more information on the base LX model.

      Amtrak 2523 - he might have reviewed the Pilot as well, I’d assume. This was a Passport review, so not sure if reviewing the lowest Passport Sport model would have helped your Pilot LX decision. Regarding your purchase, you’ll enjoy it. My ‘05 Pilot has 326k miles and just about done. Its made some long family trips. Looking to replace it with Passport or 4Runner.

      Dan Dawson You’re right. I made a mistake🤡. I watch too many of these reviews and confused it with another video from a different person. I still wish the reviewers would occasionally focus on base models and not the top of the line models. Great to hear about your Pilot and it’s reliability. I’m looking forward to traveling all over the U.S.A in mine. Thanks"

      I agree! They could have gave gave it a more square-shaped traditional SUV styling or modeled it closer to the original Passport. Yes it was technically an Isuzu Rodeo, but even those looked better than this! LOL

      lol... nah. most of it is just trash talk, some are even getting paid because that's how scared competition is. honda said they were losing sales of up to 20k units of a car like this each year. they sold 2k las month, so i guess will see. but flop? to call it that you'd have to compare it against the king crv and just doesn't make any sense from any point of view.

    This guy is not an automotive journalist nor does he do reviews, this is simply show and tell. No information on how the vehicle handles or drives, or how the engine and transmission perform. It's basically just an infomercial , and links to Amazon and different companies which he probably gets kickbacks from. Don't waste your time watching anymore videos on this channel.
