I bought one of these about a year ago, and have used it consistently with whichever of my amps I happen to be fancying that week or month. Works well with: Fender. yup. Marshall. yup. Traynor. yup. Vox. yup. Orange. yup. Carstens...nah I think we're good because the Carstens "Headroom" knob is just a masterful feat of engineering and well tuned ears. This pedal makes your amp, almost any amp, sound more, better, clearer, articulate, driven, sizzle, no sizzle, whatever you want. Subtle. Massive. Whatever you want. It makes your amp and guitar sound like you want it to sound on the record. You turn it on, and you're like, "Well, okay, I guess, sure, maybe." ... and then you turn it off and you're like, "Oh CRAP! WHERE'D ALL MY TONE GO!" "WHERE'D ALL MY FEEL GO!" It's simply unreal under the fingers. Better than a Klon. There. I said it. Not affiliated, just appreciative.
Very happy that you are having a good time with the Enhancifier. It's great to have you comment on the touch/feel of the pedal. It's more than a video, it is experiential. Much more going on than just how it sounds. It is, as you so eloquently phrased, "simply unreal under the fingers". Rock out...
@@Enhancifier Do you know of any video demos of the Enhancifier into a solid state amp? I will probably never perform again; but I still like great tone and feel at really low volumes. I might want to use this through a headphone amp or a small solid state amp. Could I get the same kind of effects through something like a Blackstar ID Core Stereo 10 V2? Those 10 watt amps come with six preset amp sounds. I mostly use the clean, crunch, and sometimes acoustic settings.
@@MrMoneyHelper I don't know of any videos but I do have a friend who is a good player that uses a older Fender Modeling Amp for small gigs. Uses the Enhancifier with it all the time. Says he won't play without it. He told me he was going to a gig and was about 15 miles down the road when he realized he didn't bring the Enhancifier, turned around and went back to get it.
@@Enhancifier Why don't you make videos for your Enhancifier with tube amps AND small solid state amps? It would show how the product helps every amp. Make them long enough with lots of strumming and picking. Not five seconds of hearing each. Give people time to hear the tone and then think about what they're hearing; like listening to a song.
Wow. Great demo! When you boosted the Pal800 with the Enhancifier, that Strat sounded massive. Like it had a beefy humbucker in the bridge. The pedal’s subtleties would make it a really powerful tool in the hands of a session guitarist. It’d be fun to watch Tim Pierce play around with it. :)
Hey Phil, thanks so much for the fine demo. I seriously appreciate how much you put into your videos and being on your personal pedal "10" list is just mind blowing. Wow.
I ordered the older version about 10 days ago, but I did´t get any other response from "disruptive music tech" than the email that they thank me for my order. Do you know if they answer any emails, or does the Enhancifier just show up at one point? Thank you
Thanks for the excellent video and I'm glad you are enjoying the pedal. $400 is just too much for a boost/tone thingy. I'm not really hearing anything that can't be got with a couple of cheapies off Amazon for under 100.
Thanks, man. If it were just a little less expensive. But it helps me regsin my ear when you cycle through your values like this. So really…. Thank you!
That's an awesome box! Me likee. I have to reconsider single coil pickups again. That thing adds a clean "soul" to the sound. Can make a Strat sound like a Tele or even a ES335. Clean boost is good!
Sounds nice! I’ve been using the Taurus Servo for my single coils and LOVE IT. Often combine it with my EP boost. This would be a separate option if I wasn’t happy with that setup or had $400 laying around.
First: great job Phil! Second: ive been buying pedals since the 90s and man!.....they are expensive now (not much of a surprise all things considered). Enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Unique sound. I wonder what a bass with active pickups would sound like through that. Maybe mention if any of these favorite pedals are suitable for bass guitars as well. Thanks Phil!
Impressive! It really works well with your Strat . . . I could see this being an 'always on' pedal once you've found the sweet spot for any particular guitar.
Before I even got to the part you mentioned clean boost, I was going to mention my Telecaster with an afterburner (and the t52s). Goes from Neil LeVange to Alexi Laiho really quick.
The LA2A and 1176 are compressors. It's a compressor. Kind of shocked you don't mention that. All the controls and their functioning make perfect sense once you understand that.
I got a Zoia two years ago, and with it's base setting(stereo in/out) it's a PERFECT clean boost pedal. Use gain control to go from a whisper to an operatic scream. Five hundred bucks is a bargain....
What I loved about this pedal was the way it handled the highs, they never folded turning into fizzy mush, the clarity remained intact throughout all the knobs’ travel.
@Phillip, Great demo, you convinced me! Unfortunately it doesn't seem that they are taking orders anymore. I ordered a unit and there's been no contact from the company since placing the order nor do they answer the phone or return e.mail. I would really like to have one in my rig but looks like I'll need to hang out on reverb and try and nab one before they disappear.
Very similar to what the Buxom Boost can do, but BB seems to be even more flexible. The BB is on most of my friend’s board as an “adjuster”. The Tight knob adjusts saggyness of the sound/ feel, and the Boost knob will help to thicken the sound and give more Oomph to the sound. Best is that u can mellow down a harsh sound without boosting it, remaining the characteristic of the sound. When there are more adjustments needed, just kick in the EQ, and you can match nearly any guitars to any amps. Must have on any setup IMHO.
Great demo Phil ! It sounds really really good but it's a rather big pedal on the board aaaannnd 400$ for a clean boost/drive...hum.. really no way i could justify that :/
I appreciate your opening comment on the pedal: "this pedal is very expensive", something you almost never hear from content creators. Most players don't have the budget for a $399 pedal (you could get a whole pedalboard worth of pedals buying Flamma or even the cheaper Boss pedals, which are all excellent, with that money). Some expensive pedals are really good, but few guitar RUclipsrs acknowledge that a lot of expensive gear is out of their viewers price range.
Hi Phil, Question for you. How does this differ from using a compressor? It sounds like it is a compressor with some EQ functions? Would this be for someone that does not have either of these FX as a means to blend the two? I am not sure what the value add of a $400 pedal that looks like a record player on the floor would bring if we already have these other FX. Love the novelty of the design. Not too sure about its purpose though. Thanks for the demo! Cheers! See you tonight on the weekly show!

I don't generally comment on gear videos, but wow that sounds fantastic. A bit steep in price for me, but I suppose that's a fair price for what it is and how epic it sounds.
For me, the best sound is single coil with a preamp booster. I prefer to have it on board, not as a pedal. I was lucky enough to get a great one in my Strat in the late '70s. Are there still good Strat preamp boosters out there (the Fender systems, e.g. the Clapton one don't cut it for me)? Alternatives?
This reminds me of what my use of my tone city sweet tea does. I just leave it always on on lik2 gain and it thickens up my clean tone and adds a sparkle. Can't explain it, just suddenly sounds magic and alive. I need a small practice (home and very small not loud band use) amp. I really want something fun like an ac-15 in that maroon special colour run, that Laney super cub looks pretty fun too but I'm wicked poor. Any recommendations on a small tube amp I could get away with.

Visually, the design of the pedal is a nod to the Maestro Brassmaster
I don’t need anything but a cable and amp to love my single coils, I would usually play 3/4 of my gigs with single coils and 1/4 with humbuckers.
Nice playing dude! And that boost sounds real impressive, and at $400 it should.
I'll keep the $400...

Dude, I saw the thumbnail, and my first thought was "What the hell did they do to that Maestro FZ-1S?" 😂 (Very cool 70s fuzz. KILLER on bass.)
Great pedal series! The playing demos capture the vibe of "I just came up here to noodle for 10 minutes, where did the last 45 minutes go?!!"

? Why isn’t your guitar humming ? Do you use compression or a noise gate while demoing ? I do like those two pedals together very much .
Love these pedal videos. I thought I was pretty hip to the pedal world but I wasn't aware of this one - thanks!
Unique sound. I wonder what a bass with active pickups would sound like through that. Maybe mention if any of these favorite pedals are suitable for bass guitars as well. Thanks Phil!
You can use pretty much any guitar pedal for bass, bass pedals just generally have a little different EQs
Impressive! It really works well with your Strat . . . I could see this being an 'always on' pedal once you've found the sweet spot for any particular guitar.
Definitely sounds like an always on pedal, and actually sounds worth the high cost. Thank you for sharing, great playing!!

Pumps those strat single coils up into a P90 richness. I wish I had the liquid cash for one, but it goes on the wish list for sure.

I’m curious how a Danelectro would play through this device.

I didn’t want to like this but I do, what a great bit of kit!
