Two years later but the intro got you a subscriber! Wouldn't want to break the law. My future fishing buddy just turned 1 but can hardly wait until she's old enough to be on the water with me!
I OWN BOTH OF THEM! I LIKED THE 110 SO MUCH I BOUGHT THE 130. I'M 5'11" 220 POUNDS AND THE 110 HELD ME PERFECT. No water coming up from the scuppers, the gear tracks are set up perfectly. Very comfy seat 3+ hrs and no problems. Amazing turning radius. Just DO NOT PUSH THE PELICAN PEDAL DRIVE, IT WILL BREAK! I upgraded my sprockets to hobie v2 set screw sprockets and now I'll pedal it hard! I LIKED THEM SO MUCH I SOLD BOTH OF MY HOBIE OUTBACKS! Bought the 110 for $440 with a broken sprocket Bought the 130 for $500 with no dryve but it came with a troll motor. I already had 2 hydryves. NOTE: Most mfg max weight on all kayaks is exaggerated... subtract about 1/3 and you're still pushing it. Thanks for the content!
Love your content. Always keeping me updated. So about a year ago when I was in the market, you helped me the most. A friend and I bought our yaks about the same time...he wound up with the lightning by Robert field and I found a 2005 hobie outback with tons of extras for 500....it was so clean and kept be 1 owner..I couldn't say no...but my friend has had the lightning for a year now and he complains about it alot. And if I didn't find the Hobie , I most definitely would have and still probably will buy a P130. Thanks again...now go flip something!
That's a steal! I wish I could find a 2005 crew cap in mint conditions for $5000 😁 that's the equivalent lol, whats not working with your friend's lightning? Thanks for the support bro
I really am so happy that you did a video to compare the two Kayaks, I was actually trying to decide between these two or a Perception Kayak. These are lighter weight and less expensive, plus they have features that the perception does not have. I am a big person with joint problems and it keeps me from going kayaking because I can't hold the paddle, the pedal design is going to change this up for me. I just have to save up and pick a color, and sell my old Pelican kayak. Keep up the video's they are a great help.
I was looking up other pedal drive Kayaks and came across other brands I am not familiar with but look really nice too. Are you familiar with Hobie, Jackson, Hoodoo, or old town and if so what is your opinion of their quality, durability and fish-ability? Also do you stand up and fish on any of your kayaks and which has been the most stable in your experience to do so?
the most stable pedal driven boat for the size i gotta say it is the slayer max, check out the stability test video here, ruclips.net/video/0Kqb9kiLI6c/видео.html but what are you leaning towards what questions do you have? hobie, old town and native make great kayaks, there is doubt about jackson and im not super familiar with hoodoo
I bought the 110 & a C Tug kayak cart because I saw you use it on the 130 & recommend it to another viewer. Do you still like that cart for the kayak or do you now prefer the one featured in this video?
Aliex Folgueira 😅 Whew, thought I messed up & got something that wouldn’t work well with the hull design. Thanks for the prompt response. I enjoy your reviews! A lot of energy & light hearted fun.
Aliex Folgueira I was just worried about the hull design & the C Tug shape. They don’t really look compatible. So all I really have to go on is your first hand knowledge.
Just waiting for them to restock so I can use your code. I have no idea where I’m going to store the kayak but I will work about that later lmfao. I’ll use it as a kayak/bed if I have to. Really appreciate all these videos you’ve made! I refuse to buy one until I can use your affiliate code :)
@@AliexFolgueira After your reviews on both kayaks, I'm thinking go towards catch 130 Hydrive 11. Because I weigh over 200 pounds. At first was going for 110 HD but maybe be better for me larger size 🤔😅 thanks again 👍🙂!!!
So I have a compass. Looking to get my wife a mirage drive kayak soon. Were considering the catch 110, the passport, and possibly another compass. She will fish out of it but not as often as I fish from mine. We are limited to small lakes and ponds. Your thoughts?
I would start with budget, also look at ease of use and stability. Clearly a compass camo with md180 would be the best here but that's a lot of $$, between the passport and the hd110, I take the hd110, more features, better rudder, better seat.
@@AliexFolgueira that's kinda what I was thinking. I wouldnt mind getting her something with the 180 drive (so i could use it in my compass) but yeah, $$. In your opinion, has pelican fixed their drive problem?
@@AliexFolgueira yeah, they look pretty close. How's the tracking and stability difference? Looking for a kayak to go offshore on Dania Beach, maybe 2-3 miles tops. Budget is tight. Also I have a Colorado truck so only 6ft bed. How's transporting each in your truck?
they are essentially the same drive, I don't see as one better than the other. Pelican improved on the built quality but speed wise they feel the same... test coming???
I believe these kayaks are great for ones budget....and these manufacturers are trying to get their share of the market.....but at the end of the day, Hobie is the market leader.....however, not all can afford the Hobie brand. It’s all about compromise.
I’ll tell you what would make my hobie better...........my son’s Bonafide seat.... no joke. I take my son’s Bonafide seat to watch him play basketball at the schools that don’t have seating...

Wondering how stable the 10 foot 6 inch is for fishing. Watched your video on stability on the longer kayak and it looked super stable.

pedal drive for the win!, check my latest video from today, also fun fact, pelican owns perception too :)
Thanks for the excellent review. Beside the pedal system does both of those kayaks come with the paddle or you have to buy it separate?
Couldn't decide so I got one of each. Thanks for the video!

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Do you think they’re going to make those with reverse without taking them out and turning them around
don't see how they can do that, but pelican does have an instant reverse propel drive :)
Aliex Folgueira what pelican kayak has the instant reverse pedal drive? Or Is It something new that hasn’t come out yet.

Since the design is basically the same, would they both perform about the same in choppy salt water?
the longer one will do better, faster more stable

love that little boat
Can you compare the Old Town Topwater to the Perception Pescador Pilot????

2 ft apart, it may be the gopro
