The Non-Canon Expert looks at how knowledge of the Star Forge and the Rakata, which despite having been built millennia before them, was discovered by the Sith within the Rule of Two era, explaining how Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious would understand the Star Forge of the Rakata's Empire and how it was used as a significant teaching device by Darth Plagueis that would guide their completion of the Sith Grand Plan.
This is a Legends story for Darth Bane, Darth Plagueis, Darth Sidious, the Star Forge, and the Rakata with information found in a number of Legends sources, but primarily within "Star Wars: Darth Plagueis," "Star Wars: Darth Bane: Path of Destruction," and the Book of Sith reference book. Palpatine had a weapon based on the star forge called "World Devastator". these super weapons created weapons like starfighters using any matter whether organic or inorganic
Byss was a Rakatan base, so Sidious used Star Forge tech that he found there.

Never forget disney killed apeiron, the fan kotor remake after it was only few months from completion.
The Star Forge is probably still my favorite superweapon. A space station capable of producing ships at a rate easily surpassing any modern shipyard, creating a force that can dominate the galaxy rather than the one system at a time solution that is the Death Star - that I can get behind
yeah it's really neat, an almost unlimited capability automated ship factory
The World Devastators do the same.
It's by far the most practical super weapon in Star Wars. That's what makes it the scariest. One death star can be destroyed. Infinite less powerful but still formidable ships will overwhelm you no matter how many you destroy.
Well the Death Star can actually enter hyperspace.
But hear me out! What about both a Death Star AND a Star Forge? Or even a Star Forge large enough to MAKE Death Stars? I think THAT would be pretty scary, too. The Rakatans really missed out on that imo.

The Rakata really should be made canon. They have way too much of an interesting story to not be canon.
I mean, Rakata Prime is canon, since it’s technically in The Force Awakens (sort of), although yeah... I suppose that doesn’t necessarily mean anything about the species itself or it’s lore.
@@masamune2984 In the rumored Star Wars Rebels sequel there's supposed to be an elder Rakata from the times of the Rakata Empire that's going to be a mentor for Ezra.
But for now it's just a RUMOR

I personally think that there was more than one starforge as they are essential a massive ship factory and you wouldn't just have one ship factory for a galaxy spanning empire
The Rakata also had The Foundry and several Infinity Engines. The latter had the theoretical capacity to create a whole galaxy; given enough time of course...
Byss, the capital of Sidious’s secret empire in Dark Empire, was a Rakatan base. I wish it was revealed that Sidious used Star Forge tech to build the fleet he uses in Dark Empire.
Actually, I just thought... It could help explain Palpatine's fleet in "Rise of Skywalker".
I love how the lore from KOTOR is responsible for the reasons behind the beliefs of Bane, Plagueis, and Palpatine.

Big disagree. Legends has some gems, but it's overwhelmingly a jumbled, inconsistent mess that pretty much went full DBZ with the power scaling. Disney had a couple bad movies (as did Lucas, lookin at you Prequels) but them seperating legends from canon was a great move

@@ramadansteve1715 That may be true but that 10% of legends still makes Disney's best look barely mediocre (Except for Mando and whatever Dave Filoni works on). Thats why they keep on trying to reintroduce it to their lacklustre canon (e.g. Thrawn).
Sequels are good.
I've read somewhere that the Rakatan plague was genetically engineered by the peoples that the Rakata were oppressing, perhaps the Kwa. Then I've read it was created by the force itself to preserve balance. Either one is a good option but not inexplicable.
I always love your Plagueis & Sidious videos so thank you for this lovely surprise 😁 the discussion of the Rule of Two in the video makes me wonder do you think that the early years of the Rule of Two era will be the same era as the newly announced High Republic? I'm vaguely sure they said something about it being 200yrs before the main series/Skywalker saga. The slow reveal of the Rule of Two Sith as a behind the scenes architects of all the brewing problems would be wonderful! xx
I like it when you do lore videos like this. This is my favorite content you create.
Legends went into more history of the Sith and the conflict between Jedi and Sith. Legends also created a Sith Lord who did nothing wrong, I forget his name but I know he appeared in one of the stories with Darth Talon as a way to show that Sith are not fully evil since one Sith Lord only pursued knowledge and when he did die it wasn't from the Jedi or an apprentice, he died in his sleep surrounded by friends and family who didn't know he was a Sith Lord.
Traditionally sith, as in the force users, where something you where born in to. You didn't have to be evil by nature. Many sith fought against the republic to uphold the honor and legacy of their families. The main reason why you would find maybe even good sith was because of the nature of the sith culture.
If Plagueis's master, Tenebrous, had controlled the star forge...could he have mass produced biological material like his maxichlorian retrovirus..a galaxy throughout without any connection to the Force.. from this chaos the Sith's lack of morals would likely lead to their conquering all the sentients around? 😂
But it would have separated both Jedi and Sith from the Force.
I am not for sure on this but i think that the star foorge might just be ships and droids. However, i could be wrong

Thank you for watching! I'm hoping we get to see a short story with the Bad Batch, or at least a number of other Clones from the show, in The Clone Wars Anthology later this year.
The Bad Batch was also supposed to appear in a TCW arc centered on Kashyyyk, but I don't think that one will make it into this season. They have not featured in any other stories so far

AI also wonder what happened to them during order 66, were they affected the same as the other clones? What Jedi did they take out, and how? So many questions!!

The only foolish thing he did was completely trust Palpatine and that is it.
I grew up with the OT, I got into the PT when I was 10 and read all the books on the machinery. I played all the games especially KotOR and KotOR II and TOR.
But I only hist got my hands on the Thrawn trilogy and I am in love. I definately prefer the EU legends compared to the Disney mess.

It makes sense that the Sith would want to understand everything about the Rakata, a people with a culture centered around the Dark side of the Force.
The Plaugueis book is so damn good. It's better than the new trilogy by a country mile and then some.

But actually the Rakata were taught to use the Force by the Kwa, Force sensitive lizard people from Dathomir, than they taught the Rakata and the a Rakata turned on them and established The Infinite Empire the first Galactic government.

So much more lore was gonna be added to the very early Star Wars Expanded Universe but the novella that encompassed the info was never officially published; making it as Canon (to Legends) as the Infinities and Tales comic lines.

I really wish they would do a Plagueis trilogy of movies. He's such a great character and has an amazing story. The thing I wanna see the most is after Palpatine attacks him in his sleep, it's shown that he knew his apprentice would betray him and that it wasn't actually Plagueis in the bed and instead it was a force illusion. Then the could be a new trilogy to replace the crap we got with Plagueis using his massive fortune to create a new Sith Empire. I'd also like to see him with a female Twilek with Sith tattoo's as his new apprentice.

It's sad that the Sequels had to ruin everything and turn Anakin beign created by the force to bring balance insignificant.
It was still insignificant in legends too with Darth Krayt when Anakin destroyed the sith. Not as insignificant as Disney cannon though.
Question: if the Star Forge was a formidable super weapon, why didn't Darth Sidious make one of his own? OR Was the Death Star Designed to be an improvement on the Star Forge?

That's why Kreia is correct. You either are a puppet of the Force, or you suffer greatly for refusing to obey the destiny it decided for you. There is no free will, not while the Force exists. Which is why the Force itself must be killed.
