Comfort is a great word for marriage Colleen. My husband of 24 years passed away unexpectedly on May 29. He was out of state on a month long work trip and was just 3 days from coming home when he was found in his hotel room. The last few months have been so stressful, challenging, chaotic (because of him being out of state) .. and of all things i am feeling, it’s the comfort of marriage is definitely one of them.
I have Irish twins. They were born 11.5 months apart. That was quite something as well. They were always at just slightly different developmental stages, but also close enough to be little babies at same time, early toddlers, late toddlers, etc. Now 20 and 21. We survived and thrived through it all, and it ain’t over yet! Young adult children are quite the adventure also. It is so important and valuable that you share your truthful experiences and also encourage others to basically hang in there, Colleen. So many bumps and so many lovely breezes along the way. How lucky and grateful are we? ❤
Hi, I'd never heard anyone say wasps bite either. I searched it and found They DO both, sting and bite. "Bite: A wasp bite occurs when it uses its mandibles to bite and tear at the skin. This is usually done for defensive purposes or when they are searching for food or building materials. Unlike stings, bites do not involve venom injection but can still be painful" Now we know. :-)
Hi Colleen!! I am 18 years old and I have been watching you since I was 8. You helped me through so many times of my life. I always knew that no matter what, I would have a Colleen video to watch when I would come home. Whether that was Colleen’s Corner, Miranda, a vlog, etc. I just wanted to let you know how much I look up to you. Never stop chasing your dreams because you have young women like me who have followed your journey since the beginning. I know this isn’t a Tortilla Talk Question, but I still wanted to let you know. I will always be rooting for you. Love you forever 🤍
Colleen!!!!! I just wanted to let you know that wasp can also build their hive underground. Please be careful with the kids. Some people think just because they don't see the hive above in trees or by the house that they're not there.
Yellow jackets are aggressive and can have nests in the ground and grass. You might have disrupted a nest and not know it. Especially if you were in the grass. Get an exterminator to check.
So glad you used the bug thing on the Yellowjacket sting. I got stung twice last year and I used it on one and it made a huge difference. I hope you heal quickly and no one else gets stung.
Sorry about my comment being in all caps....i was just so excited that the aquarium responded to me. They even let you feed them, i think. Once again, sorry for the caps. It was out of excitement.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I LITERALLY WENT TO YOUR TOUR AND GOT VIP AND WHEN WE TOOK PICS TOGETHER I CRIED THE WHOLE TIME SO NOW ALL MY PICS OF US ARE ME CRYING😂
I have triplets. They are 19. It does not get easier. It gets harder. Physically, it got easier. Mentally. It is harder because they do go through it ALL at the same time. Love them. You will miss this chaos. Really.
I literally just got stung by a yellow jacket last week and found a huge nest on the overhang of my roof that I had to conquer my fears last night and go out after dark and spray it and was scared for my life, but I did it and feel so proud lol but now I have to find someone brave enough to remove the nest so wish me luck but you could have one somewhere in your yard. Keep an eye out in bushes and overhang and I even heard they can be underground
Bring Bailey! Or Jacob. They are old enough and def have enough experience to take care of Flynn for a few hours in a safe hotel while yall enjoy the festival. Then yall can all go to the aquarium together! I did this for my cousins all summer and ANY kind of trip. I was an extra set of hands and was paid room and board, food and the experience of going to everything! Most of my families had a room with a couch I could crash on or I even didn't mind a cot (rollaway bed), it saves on having a whole extra room.
Colleen, i just want to thank you for all the times you speak on ADHD& what it's like having it my daughter is 14and has it you have helped me to understand better what she maybe feeling and ways to help her cope so from one mama to another thank you ❤❤❤
FYI regarding wasp stings - right after you get stung, make a paste of baking soda and water and let it sit in the sting for about 15 mins. Also take benedryl and ibuprofen as soon as possible and it reduces the pain and swelling.
Omg when you had that brief pause “Everything okay” when Wes came in… I literally felt that to the core of my Momma heart! 🥺 stop and drop anything and everything to make sure our babes are okay! ❤️ I’ve said that so many times before too… saw myself in that moment!
Your Amazon link works frighteningly well. 😂 Thank you for putting the hair powder out there!!! I you use it years ago and could never figure out what it was.
Colleen, if you hang paper bags filled with newspaper around the yard and where the kids play, wasps will stay away. The bag simulates an enemy hive and wasps won't build or live in an area with rival hives. It would be a great activity for the kids.
have you tried temporary tattoos?? there’s small ones online that say “be brave” and you could see how you feel about it before really getting it ☺️ i think it would look super cute!!
Omg! No way you saw my comment. 😂 so sorry for yelling at you- I was just so excited to finally tell you how much your vlogs have meant to me over the years! 😭 I have always- and will always support you. So much love sent your way! Also- I too have had strange sleep paralysis like dreams with what feels like bad entities. So strange I felt compelled to ask and we have a similar story 😅 what a ride these ten years have been! You are my comfort vlog before bed- thank you for always being so raw and vulnerable.
I do think that having them together (mine are 17 months apart so definitely not twins, but close in age) but I do think it can help us not over helicopter our kids so they can learn so independence, more of a toddler and older thing.
I feel the twin mommy thing. When mine were in 5th and it was field day. They were in separate classes so I had to run back and forth trying to watch each one in their event. Most of the time I ended up missing them participating. So much mom guilt 😔
Not me sitting in Copenhagen googling where to see cuttlefish 😂 but the SF science center is literally one of the first results on google, wonder why you didn’t go there from the beginning
I got several yellow jacket stings last summer as I was doing yard work. The nest was underground and I stepped on it. My husband dumped a bit of gas in it and lit it on fire. Also I love Quokkas! They are so cute!!
Tortilla Talk: Hey Colleen, me again!! Thanks so much for noticing me. I am obsessed with musical theatre but I don't like to show it because I feel like I will get made fun of. Do you have any advice for my self confidence. And my favorite musical is Funny Girl, have you ever sang any of those songs? Thank you love you!
Get the tattoo!!! I have always said I would never ever get a tattoo. Well my husband passed 2 years ago and right before his bday this year I got my first tattoo for him! I love it so much and have no regrets!
Two things: 1) Aloe vera gel helps wasp stings a lot! I was badly stung on my hand, the wasp flew around and stung me in the palm of my hand and fingers, so I cleaned my hand thoroughly and then put a lot of aloe vera gel on. Thin cotton glove on top so I wouldn't gel up the house. It helped a lot! 2) Erik might be thinking of horse-flies, they bite and it hurts like crazy! And the wounds heal super slow, I was bit on the foot two months ago, and I still have a scab 😅
Colleen.. mom of twin girls here (they will be 39 in September). Listening to you describe different situations which are very difficult when one child is involved but add two.. can you imagine how it is with moms of bigger order multiples... triplets, quadruplets, etc.? I think anything above twins would require 24-7 extra help, at least through the infant, toddler time. I am so grateful that I was blessed with twin girls and I have loved watching their relationship change and blossom into what it is now. One daughter is married and the other daughter lives with them! It works out because one daughter has a very demanding job and works long hours, but her sister works less hours at Starbucks and is home a lot earlier, so she keeps the house clean, shops for groceries, and does a lot of the cooking. It works for them and I am tickled that they get along so well and that they love each other so much. I enjoy watching as you go through life... it reminds me of when my girls were small. They are my only two children and again, I am so fortunate to have been able to have them. Take care and hug Flynn, Maisy, and Wesley for me!
We use the bug out too! My daughter is crazy allergic to any stinging/biting bugs and it’s a life saver! Reduces the swelling and pain, so much quicker!
Re the quakers at rottnest island, they are only found there, it has been known that some were brought to the mainland but they can only be found at Rottnest they are friendly and seem to smile when you take a selfie, even though they do seem tame it’s not advised to pick them up or touch them really. But they are very cute, as a person from and living in Perth, we go to Rotty many times, it’s such a lovely island xxxx
Have you ever tried a glass of red wine before bed to help you sleep? I used to have a ton of trouble getting my mind to turn off at bedtime, but the first time I ever had wine, I went right to sleep in about 30 minutes. I don't drink any other time except for before bed and it really helps.
Hi Colleen! I rarely comment but wanted to say I saw you in concert in Brisbane with my 16 year old son about 10 years ago. Since seeing you in concert I’ve followed you , I’m probably your oldest OG supporter 😅
I’m 43 and have never been stung by *any* insect, but I just moved to a new town that is covered in yellow jackets (so many that their high school mascot is a yellow jacket 🥴) and I’m constantly freaking out. I cannot wait for it to be fall 😭
6:58 in third grade, me and my class were walking through the woods for a project with our teacher. it was a private school so the class was fairly small, around 10 kids. we were walking through the woods and a girl in the front stepped on a yellow jacket nest bc yellow jackets make them on the ground. they immediately exploded out and attacked us all. they were in our hair, clothes, hands, legs, everywhere, especially the girl who stepped on it. we each got 20-30 stings and it was honestly so traumatic. they stung really bad and yellow jackets do not lose their stingers so they can sting multiple times. and after they stung really bad, later that night, they itched like CRAZY. like way way worse than a mosquito night could ever be. just thought id share!
Girl. I’ve been stung by a bee once when I was 7. I stepped on it and the stinger went into my foot. To this day I cannot be barefoot ever. Not in my house, not outside. I wear shoes in the pool. I’m 43 years old haha. It scarred me for life. The bug bite thing is amazing but for me only works on like the regular big mosquito bites. I live in south Orange County and we have those little ankle biter mosquitos who leave little bites but itch 10 times more than the big ones do. The bug bite sucker thing doesn’t work so well on those for some reason. 🤷🏻♀️
I could cry at what you said about surviving. When my son was a newborn (he’s 2 now)…following his 43 hour labor and Delivery… I was dealing with crippling post partum anxiety. In my mind literally everything was out to unalive him and I was going to wake up and no longer have him. On top of that I was pumping every 3 hours and dealing with a horrible allergic reaction to the penicillin they gave me. Which caused a rash and itching plus ankles so swollen I could barely walk and had water blisters. That lasted 8 weeks. I had anxiety his whole first year. People kept telling me to enjoy it and I literally felt I couldn’t. It was impossible. And I felt that guilt. But they were right. I blinked and he’s 2. And there’s a lot I wished I could have changed. I now have a 1 month old. Labor and delivery was spooo much quicker and easier. And post partum has been a breeze. I decided to just do formula. I believe fed is best and pumping was too hard on my mental health. BUT my 2 year old is acting out more and begging for attention. When I have to change or feed baby sis and he just wants me or wants snuggles it is sooo hard. My husband is an amazing help, but he’s back to work now and I’m on my own during the week most the day. And I am SO tired and feel so guilty that neither of my babies are getting the love and attention from me they need. I feel like im just feeding them and trying to get them to sleep and I’m not laughing and playing and enjoying them. I’m in survival mode all over again and my son is getting way more screen time then I’d like to admit cause it’s the only way I can breathe…. I can’t even imagine twins and a 5 year old. You are doing amazing.
I looked this up and apparently wasps sting and bite!!! I’ve never heard of this before!!!!!! I’ve lived in Knoxville TN most of my life but in Michigan for 13 years and I’ve never heard of this before!!!!! Apparently….Wasps can bite or sting humans, but a wasp sting is more common. Wasps are venomous insects that use their stingers to inject venom into their victims. Wasps are not always aggressive and typically only sting when they feel threatened, such as when defending their territory. Unlike bees, which die after stinging once, wasps can sting multiple times.
speaking of telling ghosts off..my mom always tells this story about something touching her feet (she thinks it was her dad that passed) and one night she said out loud “please stop touching me it scares me” and it stopped! pretty wild
I'm so sorry that that stuff happened to you and Rachel in Australia but I do hope you come back one day even just as a family holiday because usually everyone is nice.
I was at your very first show in Sydney at Slide Bar (I think it was Slide Bar) and I got a photo with you at the end. I’ll see if I can find the photo and I’ll send it to you!
I love these long taco Tuesdays. After a long day at work I love listening to you answer questions while I am coloring! It’s like relax the podcast ( that I listen to on the way to work and love) but it’s just you! I love it all! Love you!!!
I just bought that hair powder thingy before you posted this vlog. I'm sad i didn't get to use your link. I literally had to watch back several videos to see where you talked about it to see what it was. I'm happy to give credit where credit is due moving forward.
Hie Colleen....i havent been able to get this out of my head since you briefly mentioned it on Relax...please talk about the gourd class you took while being home schooled....i need to know the details 🤣 Lots of love from Germany - Martina
Both Wasps and Yellow Jackets can bite and sting. Yellow Jackets are a type of Hornet and technically Hornets are a type of Wasp. Regular Wasps are less aggressive where as Hornets are considered more aggressive. But dang I am sorry you got stung. 😫It was likely a Yellow Jacket, they are known to be aggressive and sometimes will sting without being provoked. I have had 2 stings and/or bites from Yellow Jackets when I wasn't doing anything except standing. When I was 2 I picked up a wasp, so I have struggled with a slight phobia of bees and wasps/hornets, I have been stung and/or bitten too many times.
I'm a lucid dreamer my whole life and yes you absolutely can hear smell taste feel see in your dreams. I've awoken to 180 bpm heartbeat from the horrible way I was tortured in my dream. The pain and fear caused me to go to hospital.
I loved today’s vlog! I have never heard the just survive advice but dang it would have been so helpful as a single mom raising her boy! I fully plan on using that advice going forward! Thanks for the vlog- enjoy your festival this weekend!!
Hey Colleen, I just wanted to say that your vlogs make my day!!! I hope your days going amazing today also!! You’re an amazing mom, your kids are so lucky, have a great day Queen!!❤
I listened to you describing the early baby time with two at once and that was amazing. I totally feel for twin, triplet, quadruplet and quintuplet parents. I've watched the RUclips channel, It's a Buzz World, for years. They have five girls all the same age (Quints) who are now eight. The early years were R O U G H just as you said. Luckily, they did have family who could step up and help during those first few months.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the carrot socks🧦🥕I would love it if you linked your Amazon recommendations, and omg Flynn will love the cuttlefish blanket so much!!!!
Happy Tuesday Colleen ❤ So I had the EXACT same experience in that in between awake and asleep stage, my son who passed away a couple years ago walked into my bedroom! He was there, I believe that 100%. He looked so good and so happy, it really brought me a sense of peace. IT DOES HAPPEN!!!
Oh and they tend to make their nests in small holes in the ground, its sometimes hard to see where theyre going in if the nest is in the ground. Try to mark where people have been stung and avoid the ground in that area!
Colleen: "Im a total baby when it comes to pain" Also Colleen: has had 2 of the hardest pregnancies ive ever seen that literally shattered her pelvis and made it through to have 3 of the most incredible kids
TTQ: Are you working on or writing something new? You’re so creative and have so much talent for showbiz, I need to hear that you’re writing a musical or tv show or something!
Hello Colleen, what's up, good afternoon, love your fruit trees. It is warm here today, in Los Angeles. Redo the schedule or just add a couple of vacation days, so you can include Flynn.
ttq: are your kids obsessed with blankets? i was when i was younger and i was wondering if its a universal thing. if you see this colleen i just want you to know i have been watching your videos since i was in 4th grade and im now a senior in high school. you have gotten me through so much in my life and i cant thank you enough ❤❤
COLLEEN I JUST WENT TO LONG ISLAND NY AQUARIUM 2 weeks ago and literally have posted this info in like every vlog since you guys went on aquarium letting you know THEY HAVE CUTTLEFISH!! I coincidentally was on my family vacation and went to the Long Island aquarium literally the day after you guys went to the Long Beach one and I have photos and videos of all different cuttlefish to prove it. There was at least three different kinds, including a flamboyant cuttlefish so I promise you it was totally worth it. It was such a cool aquarium, it had a butterfly room and in sea lions penguins so many fish, whales , sharks they had an octopus, but 100% had three different species of cuttlefish!!!!!! my family did not understand why I was so excited to see cuddle fish, but I literally had you and Flynn in mind and was so excited to see them because of his obsession! I hope this helps. I really hope you see this!!! ❤❤❤❤
I also have crazy vivid dreams and omg last night in my dream something was going on with my eyes where I was trying to open them but it was like the eyeballs were flipped around so you could just see like reddish skin that I imagine is the other side of your eyeball or like the inside lids that animals gave.it was disgusting and terrifying! I dream so vividly that sometimes I’m exhausted when I wake up and SEVERAL times I have truly thought that something that happened in my dreams were stuff that happened in real life. For a One time I really convinced myself that I had bought a motorcycle scooter thing in high school bc I had dreams about having one so often! random bc that’s not something I would ever buy so idk why it kept popping up in my dreams lol
TTQ: I just had my first baby - it was an emergency c section after praying for a natural (no medication, no intervention, vaginal) birth. I’m totally traumatized from the experience and have been trying to figure out why. I started watching some of your old birthing vlogs and seriously wept at your twins birth. I’m curious if you feel traumatized from your emergency c section or are you indifferent? I’ve talked to a few people who had c sections and they don’t seem to have the level of PTSD that I have. I’d love to hear your take. Love youuuuuu 😘
HI! It's Tortilla Talk Tuesday! What did you think of today's vlog? Let me know in the comments below!
loved it like always! Love you Colleen!!!!!
I loved it
I would really like to know when you are going to explain to your twins what twins are?
and how are you going to convince them that they are twins?

Your hair is so pretty in this vlog!! I love the length!
I was thinking the same thing!
The fact that you had twins, and a toddler at home AND filming and editing and posting almost everyday?? You are a superhero. Any mom is a superhero:)
I know Eric will do whatever you really want and especially for his family! My fingers are crossed Flynn will get to see his cuttlefish soon!!

Wow that is so interesting
Oh hey, where did you find that information? The only place I saw that said that wasps bite was Google ai. I'd love to read about it.

Fun fact from an Australian🇦🇺 : Quokkas throw their baby's at danger as a division (cause they could always make more baby's 😅)
Colleen!!!!! I just wanted to let you know that wasp can also build their hive underground. Please be careful with the kids. Some people think just because they don't see the hive above in trees or by the house that they're not there.
Yes! My son was playing with his cars in the grass and got stung 8 times 😭
This is terrifying information 😭

OMG! OBSESSED with ur garden looks like fairytale garden 🩵🩵🌊🌊🌊🌺🌺🌞🌊🩵🩵🌊🌺🩵🌊🌊🩵🌺🌞🌞🩵🩵🌺🌺
For bee stings- run a metal spoon under hot water ( not too hot) & put it on the sting, it will neutralize the venom
Obsessed with watching your videos whilst I do my makeup in the morning, it’s get me through my day!
16:20 the "I can" had me cackling😂
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I LITERALLY WENT TO YOUR TOUR AND GOT VIP AND WHEN WE TOOK PICS TOGETHER I CRIED THE WHOLE TIME SO NOW ALL MY PICS OF US ARE ME CRYING😂

Omg you should make lemonade with all those lemons! I bet the kids would love it!

Please tell me I'm not the only one that still sings the intro and says "I'm dah queen"
I think you got stung by a yellow jacket. Their nests are in the ground. They are aggressive and will sting over and over. I hope it feels better now
FYI regarding wasp stings - right after you get stung, make a paste of baking soda and water and let it sit in the sting for about 15 mins. Also take benedryl and ibuprofen as soon as possible and it reduces the pain and swelling.
Omg when you had that brief pause

Tortilla talk question- has the twins or flynn ever said a curse word?
I have had a dream that I attended my own funeral.
I do think that having them together (mine are 17 months apart so definitely not twins, but close in age) but I do think it can help us not over helicopter our kids so they can learn so independence, more of a toddler and older thing.

I'm pretty confident there's a dedicated video of Rachel explaining the whole story of why she quit.
I got several yellow jacket stings last summer as I was doing yard work. The nest was underground and I stepped on it. My husband dumped a bit of gas in it and lit it on fire. Also I love Quokkas! They are so cute!!

But they are very cute, as a person from and living in Perth, we go to Rotty many times, it’s such a lovely island xxxx
Nice to see more Perth folk on this channel 🙌
Hornets, and Bees sting. Wasps bite. For all three, Ammonia is the remedy. 🐝
Yes redo trip!!! I want to see Flynn seeing a cuddle fish
TTQ: Hey colleen! Do you ever check your p.o. box? I sent you an apache tear and would love to see you open it or at least know you got it! Love you!!
First!!!!! Lysm Colleen and Flynn’s obsession with cuttlefish is ADORABLE and Wesley singing HOT TO GO was SO CUTE!!🥰
Same love the beach during the fall I can hunt for seashells easier more quite peaceful for me too 🌺🌺🩵🩵🌞🌊🌺🌞🌞🌊🌺
Thanks for doing the Amazon link. I have been trying to find those pants that you showed a few videos ago.
Wasps bite and sting 😄 but more commonly they sting I believe. Love ya Colleen!
Tortilla talk question will you talk to a physic medium and talk to the little girl ghost? 🌊🌞🩵🩵🩵🌺🌺🩵🌺🌞🌊🌞
Check out the research place while in San Fran with Erik and see if it would be something Flynn likes. Then make a special mama son trip later.
Yes. THIS!
Why is my obsession is watching Colleen’s shirts everytime I watch her vlogs? Is this me? I know TikTok’s been getting my money lately 🤣🤣
I HAD NO IDEA YOUD BEEN TO PERTH!!!!! It’s the best place!!!
Most wasps live in the ground! Look out for little holes.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the carrot socks🧦🥕I would love it if you linked your Amazon recommendations, and omg Flynn will love the cuttlefish blanket so much!!!!
Omg! Have fun at outside lands! How did I not realize that’s where you’re seeing her
Happy Tuesday Colleen ❤ So I had the EXACT same experience in that in between awake and asleep stage, my son who passed away a couple years ago walked into my bedroom! He was there, I believe that 100%. He looked so good and so happy, it really brought me a sense of peace. IT DOES HAPPEN!!!
What happens
Chauvinistic + Misogynistic = Michauvinistic 😂
Yellow jackets DO bite AND sting!!! Ive seen them do both! So yes some wasps do bite as well as sting!
Oh and they tend to make their nests in small holes in the ground, its sometimes hard to see where theyre going in if the nest is in the ground. Try to mark where people have been stung and avoid the ground in that area!
I stepped on a yellow jacket 😩 years ago. It was horrible, felt like I couldn't even walk for hours. My husband just made fun of me the whole 😢time!
Colleen: "Im a total baby when it comes to pain"
Also Colleen: has had 2 of the hardest pregnancies ive ever seen that literally shattered her pelvis and made it through to have 3 of the most incredible kids
I love your Stay Coo shirt! I’m curious what Erik said about adding to the trip!!
TTQ: Are you working on or writing something new? You’re so creative and have so much talent for showbiz, I need to hear that you’re writing a musical or tv show or something!
I think you should get the be brave tattoo this weekend.
Hello Colleen, what's up, good afternoon, love your fruit trees. It is warm here today, in Los Angeles. Redo the schedule or just add a couple of vacation days, so you can include Flynn.
Great vlog thank you Colleen.😊
Do it separate, another chance to have a little trip 😊 enjoy the festival that’s all you were doing , just for you two .
ttq: are your kids obsessed with blankets? i was when i was younger and i was wondering if its a universal thing. if you see this colleen i just want you to know i have been watching your videos since i was in 4th grade and im now a senior in high school. you have gotten me through so much in my life and i cant thank you enough ❤❤
Thank you for making the Amazon link!!!
I work in Pest Control! I would really check the area and ground for yellow jacket Ness they are known for building nest underground, or in the ground
Hello to one of my favorite people ❤
I also have crazy vivid dreams and omg last night in my dream something was going on with my eyes where I was trying to open them but it was like the eyeballs were flipped around so you could just see like reddish skin that I imagine is the other side of your eyeball or like the inside lids that animals gave.it was disgusting and terrifying! I dream so vividly that sometimes I’m exhausted when I wake up and SEVERAL times I have truly thought that something that happened in my dreams were stuff that happened in real life. For a
One time I really convinced myself that I had bought a motorcycle scooter thing in high school bc I had dreams about having one so often! random bc that’s not something I would ever buy so idk why it kept popping up in my dreams lol
