    It’s a very impressive piece of diplomacy. Albo has successfully negotiated the return of two Australian citizens being held against their will in other countries. Big props to Rudd as well who acted as Albanese’s intermediary.

    People dont understand that the prices of things are never going back down. This inflation is deeper than we think. Those buying groceries are well aware that the real inflation is much over 10%. The increments dont match our income, yet certain investors still earn over $365,000 in stocks and assets. Wish I could accomplish that.

    What you are saying makes sense Ali but negative gearing is protecting housing prices from any negative shocks so until housing reform is implemented I don’t think the bubble will burst

    the AUD wont be worth anything and you will not be looking at "cheap property"... unless you got eurodollars. majority of our landlords will be all overseas buyers if that happens.
    the worse the recession the more relax the government will be on who can buy Australian assets... which could include vital infrastructure that citizens will be fucked on due to no alternatives... colesworth but international corps for all services.

    I totally get that people take advantage of negative gearing, but it seems that all these phoney ‘investors’ make rents high enough to completely cover the mortgage repayments. An investment is a risk and it should fall on the owner should they take a loss, but they completely push the costs onto the renter which makes it impossible to save any real money alongside the insane costs of living at the moment. Why do renters have to pay the RBA rate increases when we aren’t the ones who ‘invested’ in the property? It should fall on the owner, but they don’t care - there’s 100s of people lining up for an inspection if their tenant cannot afford the rent increases with many also rent-bidding out of desperation. That including the flood of migration post-COV1D who are willing to pay insane amounts of money for housing has pushed so many people onto the streets or back into their parents’ homes (if they’re lucky to be alive+own their home and live in the same city).
    I’m hoping for a crash. Economists will shriek and go on about all the fall out that comes with that, but the system is already completely broken and needed a reset years ago. Let it fall!!

    • @kirsten-1144
      @kirsten-1144 Месяц назад +1

      Also the Real Estates are to blame for this mess. I’ve heard from a few, even my own parents, that they sent emails out to all of their ‘clients’ encouraging to raise the rent by a large scale by saying ‘you could be making $250 more a week based on the market’ - of course they took it. They’re stuffing their pockets with every cent they can get from this crisis.

    Surprised you have not mentioned anything about the vape ban ? Thousands of businesses shut and tens of thousands without a job with no compensation. If you want to ban vaping ban tobacco.

    • @kirsten-1144
      @kirsten-1144 Месяц назад

      Smoke shops sell way more things than just vapes. I do both (vape + tobacco) and I think it way better as we really don’t know what’s in them… the nicotine levels could be exorbitantly higher and it’s got all kinds of stuff in them: the ‘under the counter’ vapes are completely unregulated.
      A nurse even told me it’s better to smoke tobacco as people can potentially smoke for decades with no harsh health side-effects, but people who vape come down with all kinds of terrible illnesses within a couple of years. Also the flavours have got these kids hooked bad. I used to get sneered at for smoking a cigarette, but now sooo many people vape it’s kind of crazy

    • @randomoldbloke
      @randomoldbloke Месяц назад

      @@kirsten-1144 the nurse has no idea , I went from 60 cigs a day to vaping , no more smokers cough , smelly clothes and fitness went up big time . Getting vape gear from established shops means quality juices and vape units . Looks like you have fallen down the misinformation rabbit hole go talk to ppl that actually use them . Totally agree stop kids but not adults
