i went back to lead acid batterys for my 89 cbr .gels seem to die quite often
Think I'll do that to.
I know it's a bit controversial try a wiff of easy start in airbox intake..that should eliminate any fuel issues ..after that I suspect it could be cdi igniter fault
Plugs are damp so yeah I didn't even think about the cdi. Cheers buddy 👍
Plugs might be sparking but are they doing so in the right order. Considering thats what you've been working on I'd check and double check your coils and leads are all in the correct order.
all ok thanks.
Had the same issue on mine the other day i hve a 92 1000f i have just built and had no fuel, turned out i had a vaccum pipe from the carbs that goes to the tank to push the fuel through on the wrong nipple as mine has 2 for some reason fired up after that, also i will mention i chased a no spark issue for ages and turned out i had left the side stand down which kills the spark also the clutch must be pulled on mine as that has a kill switch too felt a right divvy after that one lol
Cheers knuckles. Fantastic tips much appreciated fella. 👍
Wonder what’s going on there very baffling 👍
Yes I just hate the bloody thing.
@@jonyr1TT seriously I’m surprised bet it’s something simple you done the checks working in the cold doesn’t help either my white Kawasaki the spark on that gone yellow and weak yet the coils are reading within the limits might get a new aftermarket set Jon I’m baffled about yours 👍👍🙏
Thanks derek I've had loads of help from all you guys this week. Good luck with the gpz derek cheers 👍
The fuel is not going down in the washing up bottle, so, is the fuel pump working???. Assuming it has a pump
Bypassing the pump. Gravity fed 👍
Very frustrating mate, if the plug leads are making a spark with the file and the plugs are wet with fuel could it be the spark plugs that are at fault?
Cheers Gary. I have another set in the spare head I'll try those. 👍
@@jonyr1TT I mention the plugs because nats Nackers Yard had the same symptoms on a cb 400, new plugs solved the problem 😉
Yes thanks Gary it all helps I've had loads of helpful tips this week and they are very informative and much appreciated 👍
Did you check the "new" coil before you fitted it?
Yes but not the brightest spark to be honest.
I’ve just had the same problem with mine , how many wolts do you have on the coils?
On mine I had 13 wolt on the battery but only 8,9 wolt on the coils , and it neds to be minimum 12 wolt on the coils
On mine It turned out to be an issue on the main fuse/starter relay
Cheer’s from Denmark 🇩🇰
Hi Jorgen. When you say wolts I'm assuming you mean volts if so I'm not sure. Where would I connect the metre wires to? Thanks buddy 👍
@@jonyr1TT sorry yes I meant volts , mine had also a little bit of spark on the plugs , but i found out (after almost going insane over the stupid old bike) that it must be 12 volt on the coils , so with the ignition on you must be able to read minimum 12 volt on the cables going to the coils
OK Jorgen thank you very much for your help. 👍
My guess is if its sparking on all 4 then fuel not getting through .
Thanks buddy. I'm thinking the same thing at the moment.
@@jonyr1TT thanks for reply you will get there in the end. can I ask do u smell any fuel getting through with all that pumping on the starter also have u checked the plugs for any wet sure sign fuel is about
cheers john yeah the plugs are a bit damp.
Control unit not working
Cheers 🍻 buddy 👍
If it was easy everyone would be doing it. I hate electrics on anything.
Sometimes we have to go backwards to move forward. 👍
