- Have you ever been plagued with firestain? You know, that ugly gray cast that shows up in your pieces after your final polish? This video will show you how to make your own barrier flux that can greatly reduce the chances of firestain ruining your piece.

In the UK we know denatured alcohol as methylated spirits, or meths.
Can I use my borax cone flux for flow with this barrier you’re recommending here? Thank you.
If you have to anneal 9ct yellow gold a few times, should you pickle after each heat and reapply this boric acid coating?
Can this be used for copper & brass or is there a need?
Can you use Borax cone flux after doing this, i.e. there will not be an adverse chemical reaction?
How do I remove the scale shield after I'm done with the soldering? Do I use pickling? Thank you for the fire shield instructions.
