I think she should only need the sword for highly resistant monsters you know? Like… a sword while battling Doomsday makes sense. Otherwise punch a hole in their faces 😂
@@akeiltheseal I think a teaser is often meant to highlight what the character is known for. thor for his hammer, steve for his shield, tony for his arc reactor and so on. In Wonder Woman's case i think the lasso has been the foremost weapon for her in every aspect so thats why no sword and shield.

The game comes from Monolith, the studio that brought us the open world LOTR's game Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. Wonder Woman is in good hands cause their games have great gameplay mechanics, and action for days. Super excited, this studio deserves a property like this.

I imagine the developers at Monolith have made massive improvements to the system in the last few years. And this is a game that could really put their studio on the map, like how Arkham Asylum put Rocksteady on.
The lasso is going to be incredible to use in combat. Get over here moments with a sword slash or shield thrust to finish a foe. So many cool things the lasso could be used for in a game like this. I grew up during the Wonder Woman TV show so the lasso to me is Wonder Woman.
And also her sword, bracelets the shield, her ability to leap super high and her special armor with wings, I've always thought Wonder Woman had so much potential for a videogame, let's hope WB don't ruin this like the movies.
You forgetting the Lasso will be and should be used for interrogation. Similar to how the interrogation system worked in Shadows of Mordor but even better & funnier hopefully.

Personally I love Wonderwoman’s sword,shield,and lasso . I prefer for her to have them all . I understand that the lasso is more Iconic for her and more true to her character since Wonderwoman is the only character who is known for using the Lasso Of Truth . My theory: Bana Mighdall tribe has been framed. An enemy broke the doors to Tartarus that Themyscira guarded in 90s comic continuity. The two tribes are readying for war while demons emerge from the underworld to spread chaos and destruction. It's up to Diana to end the Civil War AND defeat the greatest monstrosities of Greco Roman mythology. You could have a lethal and non lethal combat mechanic where Diana only does non lethal moves on Amazons because she doesn't want to kill any sister, even a Bana tribe sister. But for demons and monsters, sword and shield bust out for some evisceration. In New 52, her gauntlets got an upgrade from Hephaestus where they could manifest god weapons and battle tools when needed and then store them back away with magic. So it would solve the issue of having the sword clanking around during nonlethal hand to hand fights with amazons.
I think that she is just as overpowered. The difference is that her mythology and and it’s characters are all overpowered. She fights/ allies with gods and mystical creatures that pose different types of challenges to her. While Superman does have this, it’s not to the extent of Wonder Woman and her rogues gallery.

The lightsaber might be the coolest most cinematic weapon ever created on film, and the Lasso of Truth is basically a lightsaber whip. It has the potential to be amazingly cool on film and in videogames, but you got to give it a cool sound effect, which the movies didn’t do, and you have to come up with some cool moves for Wonder Woman to do with it.
I mean why would you put SFX on it?? When it's literally just a rope that has the power of truth....but I guess they could put SFX on it when she's compelling people the truth

Monolith games is making this. They made Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. Those are two underrated and fantastic games. I'm very curious about this one.
I think they just used the lasso for the teaser because it glows and probably didn't put sword and shield on her for a cleaner outline of her with that dark background. In gameplay I'm hoping it'll work like the Batclaw from the Arkham games (or webs from Spiderman) and that she'll have sword/shield for CQC as well as some concussive move with her bracers to gain some space. Or that we get to choose what weapon we want to use. I'd also bet that "uniting old enemies" will have her beat the crap out of them first - as is your wish :)
Monolith did Shadow of Mordor which was action packed and full of violence, so I'm sure we will see Diana be able to use a sword, lasso, and other weapons.

It's interesting how you consider videogames as testing grounds for movies, because that's exactly what happened with "Captain America: Winter Soldier." Sometime after the first Cap movie, Chris Evans played the Captain America: Super Soldier videogame-adaptation and he was so amazed by the fighting coreography in it, he suggested the movie producers to incorporate it into the fight scenes for the next Cap movies. Probably one huge reason why "Winter Soldier" had remarkable action scenes. Also, If this game is *ANYTHING* like Shadow of Mordor/Shadow of War but with WW, i'm sold on it already
I hope that the fighting goes beyond Batman games and that she uses sword, shield, bows and hand to hand (along with Kicks) in this game. Along with all of her outfits from past to now. And hoping to see who plays or who voices her.
I hope they make the lasso more like a whip. There's a huge untapped market in videogames for whip-based combat ever since the Castlevania series came to an end. Darksiders 3 managed to incorporate a whip as a primary weapon for its female protagonist quite successfully as well.
I think there can be a lot of cool and inventive ways to use the lasso. But I definitely want to see the shield, which can also be used in inventive ways, and hell yes, give us the god killer sword!
I'm glad to hear Hippolyta has an accent. I think Diana having an accent is a good addition from the films, and I hope she has one in the game. It just makes sense. She wouldn't sound American unless she's putting that accent on to blend in.
It's all lasso. That teaser did not scream short-range blood splattered sword play. But I agree, a lasso can be a more satisfying playable weapon than a sword.
the biggest announcement to come out of TGA was hands down BY FAR Space Marine 2. We've been waiting for it for 10 years. There's not much in the way of film/tv Media set in the Warhammer 40k universe Grace but I would read up on it a bit just in case they make it, because boy, it's big, and the fan base is as big as DC's.

I mean, there is alot of possibilities and DC universe is very big. They can create anything to make the game amazing

I think there can be a lot of cool and inventive ways to use the lasso. But I definitely want to see the shield, which can also be used in inventive ways, and hell yes, give us the god killer sword!

I'm glad to hear Hippolyta has an accent. I think Diana having an accent is a good addition from the films, and I hope she has one in the game. It just makes sense. She wouldn't sound American unless she's putting that accent on to blend in.

It's all lasso. That teaser did not scream short-range blood splattered sword play. But I agree, a lasso can be a more satisfying playable weapon than a sword.
Maybe she'll get some pointers from Catwoman with the whip.

the biggest announcement to come out of TGA was hands down BY FAR Space Marine 2.
We've been waiting for it for 10 years. There's not much in the way of film/tv Media set in the Warhammer 40k universe Grace but I would read up on it a bit just in case they make it, because boy, it's big, and the fan base is as big as DC's.

I think it’ll be very similar to injustice in terms of fighting. Mostly similar moves to what Wonder Woman had in injustice.
Now I m wondering what kind of enemies we will get??!!....my little finger is targetting some powerful villain Amazon corrupted by Hades, some great warrior from Hades dimension and ranked as Champion and commanding many other legion of inferno demons and beast creature from the hell or whatever the name, and then some dangerous, malicious and very threatening Humans who managed to reach Themiscira in the will to conquer it... I mean, there is alot of possibilities and DC universe is very big. They can create anything to make the game amazing
