Fun fact, apparently that Pedro kid was testing the penetration of the Desert Eagle before the "stunt" What i think happened is that when he was testing how much the .50AE penetrates, he stacked a lot of books one after another and shot them. The force of the impact dissipates and transfers through the pages and books so it can happen that the bullet stops in the fist book. To someone not knowledgeable in terminal ballistics this would seem like only one thick book will stop the .50AE which is definitely not the case
There is an old episode of Miami Vice where they hide behind a palette full of fake money from enemy fire. Mythbusters fact checked whether they would be legit cover, and it was, even the firearms specialist they had on set confirmed it. But that was a FULL PALETTE, not just a single book. And they only used 9mm i think.
So when he tested it was it stopped by only one book? Did he hold it too tightly against his chest and that's why it penetrated? Man, that video was heavy. I'd never heard of him.
@@TransRoofKorean The impression I got was he stacked multiple books into a pile the same size as the encyclopedia. Problem is the covers and small amounts of space between them did a lot to slow the bullet down. It's been a while so I might be off, but that should be roughly what happened.
@@TransRoofKorean No. The energy is dissipated much better when there are other objects behind what receives the energy. In this case, during the test, subsequent books dissipate energy so much that the first book has less energy on the same surface. More books, more mass to absorb energy, less energy per single sheet of paper. Later, in a fatal test, only one book had to absorb all the energy of the bullet, there was nowhere to spread it (there was no more mass of the books to share this energy), so the energy of the bullet defeated the strength of one book and unfortunately it also defeated this guy.
Brandon: Here’s what not to do with guns. RUclips: This might teach people how to handle guns improperly. Brandon: I don’t think you understand how learning works.
Understand? I doubt the people enforcing rules on RUclips even read them. Probably just skim the titles so when they want to ban something, they know which to use as an excuse.@@Texasplit
Just as a complete aside. I can no longer watch ANY Star Wars. Can't stand looking at any of it. Not even the original trilogy. I spit at you Disney! OK, back to our regular programming.
I genuinely care about firearm safety. The son of an old coworker of mine lost his life to an accidental ND while actively safing one of their rifles to clean after a hunting trip. A few months later, I ran into him at a Wal-Mart and I had my oldest with me (he was about 2 at the time), and seeing that man start bawling up because my son made him think of his boy hit me in portion of my feels that I would never wish upon any parent. So please everyone reading the comments, truly be safe. Even when being safe, be extra safe and cautious.
You can never be too careful. Just because they just so happen to be a fantastically entertaining past time doesn't detract from the whole reason they were created in the first place. Thanks for sharing, bud. Sorry you had to go through that.
I don’t understand. How can you have a ND with a rifle, after a hunting trip while “saving” it? You can break any one rule of firearms safety and it’s still dang hard to kill anyone by accident. You really have to break 2. (Unless you use expanded rules) there are 4. I like “Cotten Pickers” rules for gun safety. Treat every Cotten picking gun as loaded, never point a Cotten picking gun at…..
@@larsharris Damn. You just showed us 2 things with extreme efficiency; How much you *think* you know about firearms, and how much you actually *do* know about firearms. I can name about 6 ways that this could have easily happened. Which do you want to hear first? Name a weapon system and I'll fill you in. Magazine fed bolt action rifle? Semi automatic rifle? Single shot bolt action? Go ahead... P.S. He never said "saving it." He clearly said "safing it." Like, making the rifle "safe."
@@eamonia oh my. I didn’t catch autocorrect. The type of long arm does not matter. Unless really unusual situation. If the muzzle is not pointed close to a person. They will not get hit. Yes really rare times a bullet could bounce back. Most bounces are in line with muzzle in expanding cone. Some guns can go off without the trigger being pulled. Mostly poor upkeep, with a few exceptions. I have carried a variety of firearms. Loaded pistol, rifle, shotgun. Never hurt anyone, anything I have not intended.
The fact that you work so hard to stress and push the necessity for safety, while showing how fun and badass guns are, is worthy of the highest amount of praise and respect. Also, best of luck on your run for Congress.
I mean, theres a reason that a paper test is used for sharpness, or you can gently rub your thumb sideways against the edge, if theres resistance odds are its sharp enough to cut. Take this from the man with years of experience and scars on his hands from a number of mistakes and mishandlings. They can be more dangerous than guns even if you follow safety rules. Only difference is guns have range.
THIS. It's what I tell my students before they leave for spring break. It seems to be working; or at the very least no-one has come back short a limb. Yet.
Sitting where he is, I can understand why. As he said, they are roughly the same age, and he is worried he may have been an inspiration for something like this happening. I love the fact that with all the fun and goofiness Brandon gives us, he always preaches and practices safety.
2:44 “I used to be an adventurer like you, until I took a shotgun to the ass” 🤣🤣 As a modded Skyrim player with modern weapons I’d definitely love to hear that as a dialogue line🤣🤣🤣
Applies to so many safety rules across so many industries. Dont store radioactive materials in dormitories, don't send people into confined spaces without an air supply, don't use acid without gloves and goggles, Etc..
I had gun training back in 2014 and about 95% of the entire program was simply how to handle the gun in a safe manner. The last two weeks of the course were when we went to the range to shoot. It’s not the gun. It’s the person behind it.
The story about Pedro hits hard. Many years ago, my brother put on a used (repeat, USED) ballistic vest, and told a 16 y/o kid to shoot him with an air rifle. The pellet went straight through the vest and lodged in his heart. The local DA pushed hard for a manslaughter charge, but we managed to fight it down. We didn't want that poor kid's life fucked up more than it already was.
Oddly enough that is something that I didn't like about bullet proof vests. They seemed to make some people act stupid because they think they are invincible.
Ooofh, that is awful man. Sorry for your brother's loss of life, and good on you for pushing not to prosecute the kid who really was the mechanism of the malfunction more than malicious actor. You're good people.
I respect that you hammered it home that the vest was 'used' in that scenario, helping remove any fault from that 16 y/o from the outside viewers reading your story... May your brother rest in peace, you are a good man for forgiving something that could have easily ruined that 16 y/o's life
Rule 5. Understand your weapon's hot and moving parts. (Dont get slide bite, scope eye, or grab your shotgun barrel) Part B for the muzzle discipline rule. Keep your hands from slipping in front of the barrel. Part B for understand your target rule. Understand the distance, and where you can miss. (Especially with medium to long range handguns or shotguns)
You're exactly right. When it comes to the understanding your target rule, the best way I've heard it explained was by John Lovell of the Warrior Poet Society: "Be aware of your target, where it is, and what surrounds it: what's in front of it, what's behind it, to the left and to the right of it." I personally feel that this helps a bit to account for overpenetration
how about not casually leaving a firearm in the open? If you are not actively using the firearm keep it locked up. Maintaining a fire arm is actively using it.
Daaaamn, imagine having to take down a video because you’re just trying to teach people what not to do and how to be safe. Keep up the good work Brandon!
I appreciate the serious dad life lessons coming seldom, but they're appreciated when they're here. I remember hearing about Pedro when his accident happened, and it's very sobering to hear about it again in this context. Thanks for humanizing him and giving us a way to relate to him through yourself. Might be one of my favorite Darwin Awards yet!
Hearing that soliloquy of his sounded like some real life foreshadowing. He knew that it was a stupid stunt and that he may die from it, but he did it anyway...
@@Chaos89P It's my personal belief that he was doing this to kind of clear his girlfriend's name if he did die. I don't know why else he would say all of that other than giving her evidence to save her from a murder charge.
@@Chaos89PHe seemed lile a devout christian and set this up as a form of suicide that would exclude him from doing it himself, and his GF from the law.
I once handed a firearm to a friend who was ex military. While describing the grip mounted Lazer I said "if you squeeze..." and before I got to "...the back of the grip." He squeezed the trigger. Fortunately, he had it pointed in a safe direction, and no one was even scratched, although he did get a nice hole in the floor. THAT experience taught me several things all at once. 1. I needed to be way more careful, and have never since handed anyone a loaded gun, regardless of perceived level of training. 2. Military doesn't mean excellent gun training. 3. Gun shots inside are loud and terrifying. 4. I am way more concerned about making sure ALL the rules are followed and added 3 or 4 more personally.
Number 2 especially if they were in the navy. No one carries around a gun on a ship (other than marines) and they only time they fire a gun is in basic. I have a co worker who was in the navy and told me this. I imagine it’s probably similar for the Air Force and coast guard
@@goldenfiberwheat238 atleast in the RAAF, yeah they get trained on assault rifles, bolt actions, and pistols, but they dont actively carry them unless there specifically security or have a reason to, but i am pretty sure pistols are somewhat actively carried, do fact check me on this as im not sure
@@goldenfiberwheat238 I mean technically they are sailing a giant gun. So I can see why it isn't a worry for them. lol. Dude was Army though. We did learn something else, he has PTSD and gunshots freak him out, but he didn't freak after the ND. It was kind of a break thu for him.
As someone in the military your first mistake was handing a gun to one of us morons. Look we are trained to maintain and look after guns we even perform NSPs every time we receive one however most people in the military are like 17-25 and that’s the age when you are at max stupid
That part at the end where Brandon says "he's afraid that he might accidentally inspire some kid to do this" really makes me feel for him. If you ever read this Brandon, just know that through videos like these, as "funny" as they are, your teaching people a real lesson, and i hope you continue to do so, it would be a lie for me to say that you haven't taught me a thing or two, not just about guns, but about respect, and not just for the gun itself. Keep fighting the good fight, for the sake of those kids.
If that guy with the shotgun were using a double-barrel, he could have produced one of the most horrifying ER "shoving things where they don't belong" stories imaginable.
I have never laughed so hard at a video and then immediately feel so serious at the end in my life. There are a lot of people who need to hear the Brandon's message about firearm safety. I practice safety as much as humanly possible but every once in a while I hear a story that really reinforces my beliefs in being precautious
That end is a strong and clear message. As much as youre having fun, safety comes always first, education and entertainment second. Thank you, Brandon, for putting it back out there. More people need to know that in this world, we really only have one life and one safety violation from death.
It might feel silly to some to treat a weapon you know is empty as if it were loaded but doing this over and over creates muscle memory and when something goes wrong you will be very glad that you have this safety mindset that took place so instinctively because of repetition and it saved your life and/or the life of someone else.
The serious tone and the way you hear Brandon speak at the end of the video shows just how much he cares about safety, the people getting involved in it, and the people who support him. As much as it is a grim topic to speak on and a tragic thing to come to realizations with, it is a heartwarming thing to not only be able to see how much someone cares but hear it in their voice too.
And yet Brandon doesn't give a fuck about Kyle Rittenhouse killing someone who was trying to take down what he believed was an armed killer. It's funny how right wing "ethics" are so malleable...
I feel like I almost won a Darwin Award once, but it was because I was trying to teach someone new how to fire a 9mm SAFELY.... he ignored all safety instructions and was overwhelmed by the sound. He had 3 rounds in a semi-auto (that I didn't know he had) and turned around after the first shot aiming the gun at my groin with his finger still on the trigger! After that, I am very selective about who I allow to shoot in my vicinity. Thanks Brandon for continuously putting an emphasis on safety... it is disturbing to see so much lack of awareness is floating around.
I too learned the hard way.. One round only if you're unsure of the person. Though I've simply gravitated to avoiding "unknowns" as a whole when it comes to guns, lol. I dont have time to be catching lead. Made it this far without doing so, haha.
@@Name-ps9fx Agreed. It was a friend's gun and he handed it to him. I thought he had only one. You can probably imagine how shocked I was when he continued firing after he flashed me with it. I immediately got behind some cover after that lol
Brandon I so appreciate how compassionate you were towards Pedro at the end. Knowing you do this series to actually help and educate people on firearm safety is really awesome. You are saving lives.❤
I dunno man, i have never shot a gun, never owned one, but watched gun vids so i know that 50AE will punch through 1 encyclopedia easy. It seems to me like he want to die but don't wanna do it on his own..
@@johncarloexconde5488honestly that's what I originally thought back when this first happened. It just seems as if he were a dumb rich kid who really didn't understand the consequences of violating gun safety rules. He didn't see death coming from a such a mistake.

You really did Pedro a solid for treating what went on with such respect, kindness and empathy. These traits are also vital to have being a gun owner/user. Thank you for being a healthy example for the young men who dont have proper male influence in the home. Our country is hurting for men like you. Keep pushing! ♥️
As someone who used to do black powder cowboy shows, remember, blanks are NOT "safe". Treat them just like any live round! Thanks Brandon for pushing the safety rules as often as you do. Good luck with your run for Congress.
@@CooperTheHunter I'll give Alec credit, the gun should've been cleared by the prop department. But I'm taking that credit away for him not having first checked the cylinder himself to confirm it. ANYONE who has handled a firearm would know to do that. Not just know, refuse to handle it until having made that confirmation.
@@krel7160It was part of his job as an actor to check that it was loaded, or watch it be loaded, per actors guild. Not only that, but it was his movie.
Yeah, as someone who once, long ago caught a buddy's hair on fire with an 1851 Navy revolver loaded with less than 1 grain of powder and a cotton ball, I can back you up.
Yeah the burnt powder inside the casing still comes out. That’s one of the reasons the military uses blank firing adapters. Not quite as deadly as a bullet, but still dangerous.
RIP to Pedro. Seemed like a decent kid. Unfortunately just did something incredibly foolish. Hope this story ends up stopping others from doing something like it. As Brandon said, Guns are fun but they're not toys.
That Pedro video rang all sorts of bells for me. From using books as backstops with varying success, to trying to double tap a 50 AE desert eagle, to my buddy trying to convince his wife to test body armour on him (It turns out the body armour was just a sales demo to check sizing and had no bullet stopping capability).
As a former purveyor of functional swords, people trying to test the sharpness of a blade on themselves is frighteningly common. I have three "rules for life" that always came with the lecture after someone tried it: 1. The blade is ALWAYS sharp. 2. The gun is ALWAYS loaded. 3. The dog ALWAYS bites. 🤦♀
That one with Pedro hit home. A friend of a friend and his wife decided to practice home clearing with their shotguns. They used real guns, didn't clear the guns, and he ended up shooting to death the woman he'd married less than a year before.
I live 15 miles from Pedro. Poor girl. He supposedly tested it with other books. Sad day for sure. Also I commend you for promoting safety, even how obvious it really is thank you

5:47 Rules of knife safety 1. Threat every knife as if it's sharp 2. Know what you cut and what's beneath it 3. Don't cut anything your not willing to cut 4. Keep your knife folded or in it's holster (?) until your ready to use it 5. Keep your knifes away from idiots
Well said Brandon, he's not the first young man to lose his life doing something stupid. I tried to count mine, but I kept losing count. I got lucky. We all have those memories of doing stupid stuff. R.I.P Pedro.
I really should not be here, though not so many from getting lucky after doing something less than bright. Many many close calls. Also I am astounded I do not have, and never did contract anything from the females out there in my past. When it comes to that I was less than bright far too often. Sad about Pedro, man born in 95.. I feel so old now. My youngest kid was born that year... a good outcome of a none too brilliant choice.
Gun safety is something EVERYONE should know. Heck. even a BB or pellet gun can be dangerous yet there are many videos on RUclips where people call a BB or pellet gun a toy.
I like how empathetic Brandon was with Pedro. The guy was stupid and ultimately paid with his life. At least Brandon humanized it and taught us all the absolute importance of gun safety.
Exactly. We've all done stupid sh*t. Especially when we were kids. People just bagging on the kid and saying "one less dumbass" is a betrayal of the fact that we were all young and dumb (and a lot of us are probably still doing stupid sh*t). It was dumb, poorly thought out, and all of that. But ultimately, he was a kid who others cared about. It's too bad.
@duwaynesteurer4287 I mean sure we've all been young and dumb, but what he did is still terminally retarded. Out of all the things he could have used to put behind the book, why did he choose himself. Just in the case it does penetrate through, which it did because it's a 50 AE of course it was going too, why not use something like a big 5 gallon water jug? A 2 liter soda bottle. A cinder block. Ballistics gel block or torso. Another fucking book a few inches behind the first one. Just the idea of putting yourself in the direct path of any bullet, let alone of the strongest handgun cartridges in the world, just sounds like a shit idea to anyone with a quarter common sense.
Gotta love Brandon’s straight care and commitment to gun safety. You can tell he genuinely means every warning he says and isn’t just doing it as an obligation.
Every time I hear “not willing to destroy” it makes the hair on the back of my stand up. I was taught that you “never point a gun at anything you’re not willing to kill.” Thats the reality of it, no need to sugar coat it.
That last rule "Never point the gun at anything you are not willing to destroy" is so much better than "Dont point the gun in an unsafe direction" etc. I tell newcomers to "Always point the gun at something you are willing to shoot" - it is easier to process when you are still unsure. Great clips!
It's why I like phrasing that rule in passive voice. "Never let the gun point at anything you're not willing to destroy." Not to try to blame the gun for any mishaps...(oh, sure, blame the gun, not the shooter) ...but to make it clear that, even when you're not actively pointing the gun at something, _it is still pointing somewhere._ Never let that somewhere be something you don't want it to be.
7:50 - BRO, you can't just drop that kind of thing out of the blue. I almost coughed up a lung laughing. What if I was eating? YOU COULD HAVE KILLED ME!
10:50 Im glad I learned that lesson when I was a child! Stealthily tried out the cars cigaret lighter when no one was looking. After only 1 second of heating up it cant be that hot right?! WRONG! Got a good scolding too!!! :3
I'll never forget my first and only ND back when I was about 16. It was my first gun, a .380 Cobra. I dropped the magazine, cycled the action to eject anything in the chamber (so I thought) and pointed it at my bed and pulled the trigger. The round went straight through my mattress, bedspring and the floor and kept going all the way into the ground underneath my house. I was terrified and humiliated. You can never be too careful, guys.
Once again. It was so refreshing seeing the video get real near the end. Thank you Brandon for being you and caring for the people who watch your content. :)
I doubt it was a mistake. A powerful cartridge vs a book. I dont think it takes much to consider what would happen. He’s very much an idiot and it’s tragic what happened. Now his girlfriend has to live with the repercussions and his son without a father. Such a sad story and I pray for his family and him. But you cannot blame some of us for being frustrated for how stupid of an idea it was/still is.
Having been born in the 50's... growing up in the 60's... pretty much everyone's Dad had fought in The War (WWII)... we grew up knowing how to shoot... there were Marksmanship and Archery classes in school... it was a much more informative time. ❤😂🎉 Love your videos!!!
Props to you Brandon for providing important object lessons as to why firearm safety is so incredibly important in a way that doesn’t completely depress the audience. All this while still making the overall point clear that these are serious pieces of hardware and need to be treated with the care they deserve.
I grew up around guns and also served in the military. When I was taught gun safety, these were the rules: 1. Always assume a firearm is loaded 2. Never hand someone a loaded firearm 3. Always check the chamber when picking up a firearm 4. Always keep a firearm pointed in a safe direction until ready to shoot 5. Never put your finger on the trigger until ready to shoot 6. Always be aware of your target and what is behind it 7. Never point a firearm at anything you aren't willing to destroy
I wasn't around guns or ever fired one until my late teens and I already knew every single one of these rules. They're utterly ubiquitous. People just don't retain any information. In one ear and out the other.
I had the standard ones Brandon uses, but I wasn't allowed to touch my brand new bb gun until I could recite every last one off the top of my head, forwards, backwards and sideways.
One time, some years ago, my cousin was showing me his new knife. It was one of those springloaded ones that retract in and out of the handle. I got curious and wondered to myself, "This won't even penetrate a cardboard box on extension. What would happen to my hand?" So I held the handle up to my other palm, thumbed the release, and was rewarded with what you might expect would happen when you poke a soft target with a sharp object. It only went a short way into my hand, just enough for it to dangle under its own weight for a second or two, and it didn't really bleed or even scar. He still gives my hell for that one from time to time though
I had a friend with an extensive knife collection. Had lots of different spring loaded ones even switch blades. Alot of the ones he owned he would not let any body touch them. He used to always say like i know your not stupid and have common sense but I don’t feel comfortable with anyone handling it. Like if your finger is in the wrong spot when you hit the button to open it up you could end up having a bad day. I really respected that

I have seen way, WAY too many pictures and videos of people failing to follow proper firearm safety, be it from ignorance to outright flippant disregard and even contempt for proper safety measures, so it is immensely reassuring to see a gun-focused RUclipsr who emphasizes safety when dealing with these weapons. Thank you for caring so much about this.
I can tell how heavy that last one weighed on your soul Brandon, just know you’re giving the knowledge to prevent those tragedies with these preventative tales
I rarely put comments under your videos, but I really appreciate the speech in the end. You're a fun guy, but you also know WHERE the fun stops and becomes a serious topic. Glad you're promoting gun safety man, could save some lives.
I will say Brandon, you've got me into guns, learning about them, the history and mechanics of them, but also the safety. I dream of 1 day having a collection of even a quarter of what you have and doing target practice, skeet shooting, etc. with them. But seeing/hearing/reading about cases like Pedro reminds me of the safety of them. When I "remove" varmints around our house, I remind myself of the safety rules every time. I truly do have you to thank for always reminding us about them, and because of you, they're engrained in my head.
Brandon is acting so serious now compared to the first episodes of this series. it's wild to compare them lol. I totally get why though. He has to be more professional now; larger audience, RUclips getting stricter, more personal stories and running for office, etc. It's nice to see him growing over time, but I'll always miss the days of just laughing at stupid people who won awards in years past.
I was raised around guns, and the thing that needs to be said over and over these days especially, is what my dad and grandfather drilled into me while hunting and shooting; “guns are tools, not toys, so treat them accordingly”. It sticks with me to this day, and is as true now as it ever was. Again, it needs to be said more, especially on the gun channels where “goofy” seems to be the theme most days.
Not just Pedro and the Gf, she was supposedly pregnant with hit kid, it’s just tragic all around, imagine if he didn’t do that stunt and turned out as a good gun tuber
Brandon: *realizes that the SDI transition was butter-smooth and starts to smirk* Also Brandon: "WE MUST STAY FOCUSED GENTLEMEN, WE MUST STAY FOCUSED..."
The moment the PKM fired in that wedding I shouted "Jesus!" and then you immediately said the same thing, glad we're on the same wavelength with that lmao.
I felt terrible for Pedro's girlfriend after hearing that story. If you watch some of the earlier videos, she did NOT want to do this, and he badgered her and badgered her. He also claimed to have tested it on another encyclopedia and knew it wouldn't go through, turns out that encyclopedia had been from a completely different set that was substantially more dense.
That was my main concern when I first read the story. That girl must have felt horrible. I've done a lot of stupid crap in my life, but never ever tried to convince anyone to do anything that could harm someone else.
Like Trump said, they're not sending us their best. Crazy Pedro turned out to be Stupid Pedro. His girlfriend must have given birth to a Special Ed baby by now.
I take the Darwin Awards as a stark reminder of what guns can do without intent, and with negligence. The reality of these clips are sobering to say the least. Thank you!
as a fellow 95 baby i wanna tell ya how much i appreciate ya brother, as fun as these videos are and educational as they really are for me someone who doesn't use his firearms as much as I would like, your seriousness of the safety and the topic especially when something really awful happens brings a important mature serenity to the world but with just how precious and short life is. Thank you so much brother
That talk Pedro did about how he was "ready" to unalive..... makes me think Pedro was in a much darker place and he knew full well how things were going to end that day.
This right here, he very well knew from what he was saying. Also if he was Catholic he knows suicide is a one way ticket to hell so he maybe was trying to blur the lines so he had a better case.
The Pedro section was heavy. I remember that when it happened... tough story to witness and read about. Ultimately the perfect example of a what-not-to-do. You did a good job speaking about it and hopefully it sent the lesson home for a lot of people.
Its always good to hear that our favorite guntuber cares about us (his audience) and doesn't want to see us end up like pedro and this is why brandon is top tier because he does sometimes dumb things but he does them safely and while doing so he takes the time to reiterate gun safety in almost every video wether it be in his office or out on the range, thank you brandon we love you

Did he hold it too tightly against his chest and that's why it penetrated?

So they drove all the way back home with a loaded hunting rifle in their car?
The fact that you work so hard to stress and push the necessity for safety, while showing how fun and badass guns are, is worthy of the highest amount of praise and respect. Also, best of luck on your run for Congress.

Applies to so many safety rules across so many industries. Dont store radioactive materials in dormitories, don't send people into confined spaces without an air supply, don't use acid without gloves and goggles, Etc..
Or fingers in today's video. 😅
Y’all are good people for doing that for the poor kid. That act of forgiveness most likely helped him a lot.
You, sir, are a good man. Thank you for what you and your family did for that kid. I hope he made something of his life after that.
I respect that you hammered it home that the vest was 'used' in that scenario, helping remove any fault from that 16 y/o from the outside viewers reading your story... May your brother rest in peace, you are a good man for forgiving something that could have easily ruined that 16 y/o's life

Part B for the muzzle discipline rule.

I practice safety as much as humanly possible but every once in a while I hear a story that really reinforces my beliefs in being precautious
#MakeAmericaSafeAgain, if to sum this up.
Bro same... The Sand people clip had me crying.. And then by the end you could tell even Brandon was just sad and done with the video ...
He is just not very funny or entertaining. Keep it straight to clips and then explain and educate with the safety issues

"Never let the gun point at anything you're not willing to destroy."
Not to try to blame the gun for any mishaps...(oh, sure, blame the gun, not the shooter)

All this while still making the overall point clear that these are serious pieces of hardware and need to be treated with the care they deserve.
I grew up around guns and also served in the military. When I was taught gun safety, these were the rules:
1. Always assume a firearm is loaded
2. Never hand someone a loaded firearm
3. Always check the chamber when picking up a firearm
4. Always keep a firearm pointed in a safe direction until ready to shoot
5. Never put your finger on the trigger until ready to shoot
6. Always be aware of your target and what is behind it

I really respected that
And deservedly so I might add.
@@MadLadCheese101 I quit counting at around 400 and that was probably 20 years ago, of course it's not all strictly knives. I collected Bladed weapons along with firearms (Really if it's a weapon I probably have at least one)...
@@oldogre5999 hahaha “if its a weapon i have atleast one of it” just has a warhead sitting in the basement underneath a bed sheet with boxes of old 20+ year old woman’s weekly magazines around it
@@MadLadCheese101 Well if THAT is what YOU are doing you many want to consider moving those magazines somewhere the moisture wont stick the pages together....
“That’s gonna leave a mark” is the funniest thing I have ever heard! I had to pause as I was doubled over.
That dude just saying hes ready if he dies was major foreshadowing
Arnold was the T800. The T1000 was the liquid metal dude
Thank you for pushing safety and reminding the public of the downside of not following the rules.
you can’t get canceled if it’s a star wars quote 😂😂😂 that was hilarious bro
Finding out that Brandon is only 28 blows my mind. This man made me feel like a child for years, turns out I’m older 😂😂
If he was in his 30s hed have remembered he couldve made the wires leading up to the homemade shinzo abe blaster 3000 as long as he wanted
Truth. I know I was older than Brandon, but I didnt know that I am old enough to have fathered him until today.
Same, by a few years too lol
I thought he was in his forties (not joking)
@@PepperLewisAndCo Same, we can both call him "son" legit 😂
Kudos to you for your genuine heart felt concern over Pedro. Stupid thing to do but it was really sad.
I rarely put comments under your videos, but I really appreciate the speech in the end. You're a fun guy, but you also know WHERE the fun stops and becomes a serious topic. Glad you're promoting gun safety man, could save some lives.
I found my new favorite RUclipsr. You're honest, genuine, and real. Keep making great content and mad respect for emphasizing gun safety!
Dude, you are an angel for reminding your audience of safety rules constantly
Here again to help AK guy stay up on his views. Keep going, Brandon.
Best of luck from NY
I will say Brandon, you've got me into guns, learning about them, the history and mechanics of them, but also the safety. I dream of 1 day having a collection of even a quarter of what you have and doing target practice, skeet shooting, etc. with them. But seeing/hearing/reading about cases like Pedro reminds me of the safety of them. When I "remove" varmints around our house, I remind myself of the safety rules every time. I truly do have you to thank for always reminding us about them, and because of you, they're engrained in my head.
Nothing drove home how serious Brandon was to me than hearing the shock at finding out they're the same age. Being born in 95 myself, i felt that
Brandon is acting so serious now compared to the first episodes of this series. it's wild to compare them lol.
I feel bad for Pedro, but even worse for his gf. I can't help but think he was more "ready to die" than she knew.
Not just Pedro and the Gf, she was supposedly pregnant with hit kid, it’s just tragic all around, imagine if he didn’t do that stunt and turned out as a good gun tuber
The Arab guy....that was no accident, that was his Father-in-law.
Brandon: *realizes that the SDI transition was butter-smooth and starts to smirk*
Also Brandon: "WE MUST STAY FOCUSED GENTLEMEN, WE MUST STAY FOCUSED..."
I’m watching Pedros video and my voice in my head is shouting “get your finger off that trigger”
I have to agree. Pedro is unfortunately gone and she has to live with the fact that she pulled the trigger. Such a heartbreaking story all around.
Same here 95 baby , crazy how stupid these younger generations are (and parts of the older Gen’s) you literally only get 1 life , sad
That talk Pedro did about how he was "ready" to unalive..... makes me think Pedro was in a much darker place and he knew full well how things were going to end that day.
That definitely crossed my mind too
This right here, he very well knew from what he was saying. Also if he was Catholic he knows suicide is a one way ticket to hell so he maybe was trying to blur the lines so he had a better case.
Everything he said was 'im noping out'
It's great how Brandon spreads awareness on gun safety in a really fun way .
The guy just walking up and shooting his own hand almost killing the guy sitting next to him
The guy thats like "jesus probably wont accept me because this is stupid" thats cold man
“I play in a band”
“What do you play”
“Well of course…the PKM” 😂😂😂😂😂
The Pedro section was heavy. I remember that when it happened... tough story to witness and read about. Ultimately the perfect example of a what-not-to-do. You did a good job speaking about it and hopefully it sent the lesson home for a lot of people.
Its always good to hear that our favorite guntuber cares about us (his audience) and doesn't want to see us end up like pedro and this is why brandon is top tier because he does sometimes dumb things but he does them safely and while doing so he takes the time to reiterate gun safety in almost every video wether it be in his office or out on the range, thank you brandon we love you
"As useful of a tool as they can be (guns)...they're not toys...you have to treat them with respect". Well said my friend!
I was playing Skyrim while watching this vid and hear this 2:44... shocked to say the least 😂😂
Mr Herrera: "Do not point a gun at something you are not willing to destroy"
Our balls when we appendix carry: "So thats how it is huh?"
Once again, having a bad day, your content has been cheering me up though. Keep up the good work!
Same boat, brother. Rest in peace Pedro, though. Don't think any of us are having a day that bad...
the cut at 7:55 fucking KILLED me
I'm crying at the knife guy. How do these people survive even a day?
I myself am also born in 95. Seeing someone my age have a momentary lapse in judgement and get put in the forever box hits close to home. RIP my guy.
Born in 95... So YOUNG! My youngest child is 5 years older than you. I've two grandchildren older than you! And seeing ANYONE off themselves out of stupidity is sad. But it is also radically funny at times too! Morbid right? I think it's just human nature though, if you couldn't laugh about this shite it'd drive you mad!
Having worked behind two different gun counters for over four years, i can confirm a frighteningly high number of people I hand pistols immediately bury the muzzle in their other hand. . . .
Turns out "appropriately blurred and censored" was a lie. Much love AKGuy, hope it is this time.
That poor girl. In a moment of supreme ignorance and naivete she does something she will regret long term. 6 months in jail, and the rest of your natural life knowing you murdered your boyfriend.
