Elbow is the sharpest weapon that you can have on your body, while the range is short it sure have more impact than just punch or kick, i would say it's kinda have some critical damage hahaa.
Ruhiyan's past job as military self-defense instructor for the presidential guards may contribute to the aptitude for gore in his choreography. POTRI Guards are all ex special forces, and so are their instructors. Silat is originally an assassination technique rather than an art. The artistic "kembangan" or fancy stance functions only to taunt the enemy. There's hardly a high kick in Silat, as the feet are meant to hit soft tissue and vital organs. Multiple punches are a rare sight, as its signature attack is the 3-finger rip of the jugular. Creating long fight sequences featuring Silat, therefore, calls for incorporating other martial arts. Otherwise it cannot be pretty nor long. It's always MMA, never just Silat. This is also true in real-life. You need other martial arts to soften your attacks in street fights; because using pure Silat will only get you in jail for murder.
Fun fact, Yayan Ruhian (the actor who plays Mad Dog) is actually a master of Kateda, a pencak silat style that put emphasize on breathing technique, and what's even cooler is that Yayan actually taught Paspampres (Indonesian version of President's body guard/secret service) for 2 years. There is nothing to criticize! The guy is amazing at what he does and I am no expert when it comes to Silat so I wouldn't even know what to try and criticize haha!
5:02 he is not his friend, but his brother
I haven't seen the whole movie so wasn't sure how they were related! No wonder they were so in sync in the fight ;)
Elbow is the sharpest weapon that you can have on your body, while the range is short it sure have more impact than just punch or kick, i would say it's kinda have some critical damage hahaa.
Lol of course it's a mf bone just like a kneecap to the face or palm strike to the face😂😂😂😂
Pencat silat is the best when weapon come to the picture...
that short guy name is Mad Dog the police guy is Iko uwais
Silat is Asian martian arts .. not specifically Indonesia, it's also Malaysian martial arts , Brunei martial arts ,etc ..
Pencak silat or silat from Indonesia 🇮🇩
Indonesians have some really wild action films
Fun fact, Yayan Ruhian (the actor who plays Mad Dog) is actually a master of Kateda, a pencak silat style that put emphasize on breathing technique, and what's even cooler is that Yayan actually taught Paspampres (Indonesian version of President's body guard/secret service) for 2 years. So he's the real deal.
i also admire that your a good person --Thank you. i wish i was training with you man sincerely
Great reaction... You should watch Pencak Silat Demo in Japan ... It's so great, fast and beautifull too..
Even john wick didn't kill Yayan :D
This film is full of high level silat personels..
the cute doggo in the background.. Ha
Iko Uwais. Indonesian biggest action star as we speak. Watch his final fight in Raid 2. Kitchen fight is the most sick of them all. Coming from a Donnie Yen fan here
I'm editing my reaction to it right now! I did one from Night comes For Us as well, but it got copyrighted and I couldn't post it
Hopefully my reaction to the raid 2 scene doesn't get deleted
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 oh shit TNCFU is another sick action movie!
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 right! Glad u watched that! There are so many more awesome fight scenes that I can recommend u. From Donnie Yen(of course), Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Scott Adkins and more
Keep them coming mate! Like I said I'm no expert on these movies this is just fun and a way for me to get to watch more and more great scenes and actors that I normally wouldn't have!
the guys fighting alone, he fought keanu so yea. in Indonesia we call him "Mad Dog"
The little guy as mentioned is the fight choreographer and apparently he wasn't supposed to be in the movie but no one could do the choreography as good as he could so he ended up in it.
Haha! I could see that being really frustrating, creating this amazing choreography and then nobody can do it justice! 'Fine I'll do it myself I guess!'
Yayan is very cool
He's in a Netflix movie called Wira as well
and also he's in Yakuza Apocalypse which I desperately want to watch soon
Welcome to the world of Pencak Silat. So vicious and brutal. Both
Lethwei, Muay Thai and Silat considered match to each other since their history encountered fight occurred

Since 2 years have been past i think now you know his name is maddog.
The film expertly showcased Pencak Silat as one of the most fascinating form of martial arts.
I was watching it today
2:06 Yayan "Mad Dog" Ruhiyan, he's martial arts instructor especially in Pencak Silat
The one who fight (challenged) these two people is Yayan Ruhiyan and the one who wear armor is Iko uwais

This guy is crazy.. yep that's why he's called the Mad Dog
Yayan the villain or Cecep the raid 2 kitchen fight guy was the fight coordinator / choregrapher in the John Wick movie.
For some impressive little guy kicking ass action watch the end fight from Gorgeous.
Is that with Brad Allen?
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 Yup.
I believe Iko Uwais is in the new movie Snakes Eyes , 2021. First movie 2009
I noticed these fight are already here, lol...but if it wasn't done already, the hospital scene from Mile 22...awesome in closed space fight
pretty sure I read that all the actors trained so that they could actually hit each other { not full force } that's why it looks so real
Yeah these guys are next level dedicated when it comes to their scenes and it pays off. This whole movie is amazing
Enemy John wich 3,
Yayan Ruhian is the short guy called Mad Dog
