My 2012 Limited has 279599 miles on it and still runs like new - do my own oil - filters and brakes - on brake downs - change the alternator at 247000 with the belt - no other vehicle can match that

I know Toyota is known for their reliability, but I'm really impressed with this vehicle. Overlanding, bugout, daily, etc, as long as you somewhat be mindful of minor maintenance, this machine will last a long time. ...and it's pet approved. :) Nice video, thank you

Although I'm not a big fan of the Nightshade Edition, the 4Runner Limited is an outstanding SUV. They are expensive, however, they have so many options and are
absolutely bulletproof. And their resale value is literally the best in the business.

There are different trims in the 4Runner, the Limited trim she has in the video is designed more for road driving with full-time 4x4 Torsen center differential, and it will do amazing in snow. BUT If you need to do a lot of off road, get a TRD trim with part-time 4x4. The 5 speeds transmission is good enough, heard Toyota is having issues with their 8 speeds lately. I get around 13L/100km, not bad for a big SUV.
J J If you think this is a “big” SUV, what would you call a Toyota Land Cruiser? Or my Suburban? 🤔 🤷🏻♂️☺️

I really love this car, I never realised how many features it had, like those running boards and heated and cooler seats. Everyone always bashes the car for being old, now it's perfect, AA and Apple carplay, heated and cooler seats. That's ok for me. Do the running boards retract once u close the door and do they open when u open the door??

Would you still recommend this car or would you recommend qx80 or gx 460
For $50k +/-, there are a couple of things I would change.
1: Lighting. For the price range, it needs to be LED for EVERYTHING. Get rid of the Halogen Lamps.
2: Power Lift Gate - I mean come on Toyota, it's 2020.
3: Panoramic Moonroof is a needed option vs the traditional offered.
4: Remote Start (without the need of aftermarket parts or the use of any linked devices or software, just good old remote transmitter start.
5: The availability of Red Interior to complement the Nightshade Edition.
I think you make all very valid points! I get the feeling that there will be some significant changes coming
I’m not sure if all limited models have it, but 2016 limited has remote start that came with it when I bought it brand new. Also, no power lift gate is due to the rear window feature. Adding the power lift gate would make the tailgate too heavy. The window roll down feature is such a better feature IMO.

This was suppose to be the year where Toyota came out with a new model. I think it has been like 8 years since a new design came out. They decided to do just a refresh. I like it but wished it had blind spot monitoring and a engine that got better gas mileage.
My daughter wants me to get one of these. I just might.

I’m blown away that the rear hatch is not automatic!! Only continued watching because of dog.
From what I have heard, it’s not automatic due to the rear window rolling down feature. Two motors in the tailgate would make it too heavy. The window feature is so much better than a power lift gate IMO.

It's cute. Gave up on Toyota after 3 4runners as their tech is way behind. It's almost like intentional arrogant throttling ... frustrating. Just bought BMW X7 and would love to hear your thoughts on it. Amazing tech and so much fun to drive! My 4 dachshunds love the backseat. SORRY I just saw that you did a video on the X7. Subbed!

Just left Toyota dealer--drove a Nightshade---you are 10 times better than the salesman I talked to---better looking also. Getting rid of a 2015 Explorer--which is more comfortable than the 4Runner----but that's it. any down side to the 4 Runner. Also, the lift gate in the back--isn't that heavy. I like the window that opens back there.

Nice review irritating sound effects
Overrated, overpriced, underpowered and under geared(5 speed trans). Anvils are dependable also, but they are one trick pony’s. Don’t try and pull a small Rpod trailer with one of these unless you like the sound of a screaming engine.
