This was a great video for new special ed teachers with self contained classrooms. Please consider completing a video for virtual learning and your thoughts about how to utilize paraprofessionals effectively during this pandemic.
I love your channel! I just graduated college and start teaching a very similar classroom to yours (pre K - 2nd). It's nice to hear from someone who is experienced rather than scenarios in text books.
This is sooo helpful!! I still struggle trying to figure out how much grade level exposure to give to students. My students are 2-3 grade levels below grade level so trying to understand grade level work is extremely difficult.
I have been a HS co-taught/self contained teacher. This is my first year in elementary providing pullout for 3-6th grade and no para. I am struggling! Your tips are helpful!
I found this video extremely helpful as a new teacher Im trying to figure out how im going to organize everything for the upcoming school year. I would love to see a video of how you use your erin condren planner for the multi grade classroom.
I'm so glad I came across your channel! I am currently a student teacher in a mild/mod special day class. I'm about to be finished with my masters/credential program and still feel overwhelmed & nervous as HECK for when I have a classroom & caseload of my own. I've been binge watching a lot of SPED teacher vlogs in my spare time lol.
i feel you! im still in undergrad but every now and then i just start panicking at the idea of being a teacher in my own classroom with no exact guidelines on what to do lol. these videos def help with my anxiety about the uncertainty of it all. best of luck to you! 💕
Thank you for your videos. I'm moving back to an MD room this fall 3-5. Years ago I did HS MD where we mainly worked on Functional Academics. I love how you have set things up but where in your plans does it show working on their IEP goals? I know some of their goals you can incorporate into the curriculum activities but I have students that are working at a Kinder level which doesn't match 3rd grade curriculum. My planning is where I'm struggling with the most.
Thank you ma'am for this kind of videos like this a lot of lesson about special education, as a future teacher perfect to listen and watching,,,this...
Do you guys have like MULTIPLE classes of 10 IEP students for 45 mins sessions PLUS having to serve as 'Push-Ins' for other students who have YOU (the sp-ed teacher) down on their IEP as co-teacher during math or whatever subject???
I work on them in the mornings when they have "morning work" also, during academics, what they are using for their learning, they are paired for academic needs. Also, I have other videos that discuss their independent stations. Once they have mastered something in their small group, they start to work on things indepdently for retention in their independent station.
I am teaching a 4/5/6 this year and because of Covid19 precautions, I can't groups kids. It is horrible I am lost and this is why I am watching the video.
@@thatspecialeducator1061 I just came back to the classroom on March 29th! I have not been an ESE teacher for or a teacher for that matter in 9 years. I love your videos. So much to tell. I would love more ideas of creating task boxes. I need to make some quick ones this weekend. I lost my para to a better job and so did the 3-5 teacher. We are combining classrooms and I need some quick ways to get some independent work built in that is not an educational game on an iPad. Love your channel, thank you for sharing.
AND during those 45 mins... the special ed teacher is supposed to be working on each of those individual children's particular deficits and IEP goals.... yes??
We have access to it, but some of my students are grade level and slated to head to inclusion. So I have found that sometimes they prefer the work on their peers. I use it for social studies and science/current events
People think becoming a teacher is an easy activity, but they are wrong about that, we are more what people think, especial teaching multigrade classes in Mozambique and other countries.
@@Michelle-pn9xt I think he meant being a Special Ed teacher in his country. I am teaching a triple grade this year. It is a 4/5/6 in two languages. I need prayers.

I feel the same way...... lesson planning is such a struggle since the room im in doesn't use lesson plans except for during evaluations.
I'm a new teacher and this was very helpful ❤👌 thanks
I’m glad! Good luck on your upcoming upcoming school year!
Thanks, the information you share is very useful and easy to follow.

Great video!
This is so helpful. When u have to put the standards, say for an evaluation, do u just write those next to the corresponding lesson box?
Thank you.

Can you link a classroom schedule of your class routine ?
@@Novbaby Sure. I will have to type one up without kids names and link it below. I will have that up later tonight or tomorrow.
