it’s really good that you know what you need to work on !! you’ll definitely improve in no time, and even if you don’t make the team, if volleyball is fun for you, keep practicing :)) i recommend doing training camps/clinics to help improve

I have tryouts on thursday and I’m nervous because im not social and barely have experience but get cut or not, I won’t waste my shot. As worried as I am for the stretchmarks behind my legs, I will be there for the game because I fell in love with volleyball. It just shows that I’m growing too fast for my own skin, growth is growth as hard it is to accept sometimes:)
I fell in love with volleyball because last year I went through the darkest point of my life, I lost the rush, excitement and adrenaline of being alive. My social anxiety also skyrocketed which lead me to be quiet and hard to approach in my previous year. I wanna change this year, still healing but I want my aura to be more approachable. Volleyball gave that to me again, it made me feel “alive”. It made me remember what it feels like to have that adrenaline and amount of serotonin that it gives you after each game. It may be hard at first, but a challenge is what makes you grow. It’s hard to be social when you don’t know how to respond to people and I want to change that, I want to connect with people and go forward with my self. I’m not playing alone, we’re playing as a team:)
trust me ur not alone i failed too BUT as ur coach if u can be the manger cuz i failed and i asked her if i can be a manager and she said yes so rn i am the manager
yo don't worry bout it bro I started volleyball last year in grade 8 and I didn't make it neither did my friend don't be worried I was for sure sad at first but at a point you'll stop being sad and realize there is always tomorrow, next month, next year, the next 3 years whatever just keep working on being consistent with your receives and if you're playing setter being smart and always watch for your options I know it always happens so fast but think "can I setter dump right now or will the middle blocker get it, or can I set it to one of my teamates or, do I have another touch so I can recive and pass it to someone else?" or if you're playing libero being agile and having good instincts. AJust keep your head up my volleyball tryouts are coming up in about a month or two and I feel like i'm ready after a year. Good luck

I’ve been struggling with my self confidence in volleyball since I started last year. It’s because the people who went to the open gyms at school were already experienced and I believed that they were all just naturally talented. Especially during my club season, all my teammates were already good at the sport and my coaches did little for me to actually improve. Now, I still struggle with my self confidence because my friends who went to great clubs have learned so much such as diving and jump serves, and I feel even worse about myself. However, I’m working on being grateful for learning and improving my skills with limited resources over a year since getting into the sport. I’m really looking forward to see my skills improve more and more and I just really have to work hard.

Hey I just tried out for my local volleyball club! I have never played on a team before or went to a camp. My mom used to coach so she taught me a little through out my life but when I told her I wanted to play she started teaching me. Today out of 30 girls I was the only one that made the last spot on the top team for my age. So hyped

I honestly don’t expect to make the team but I do want to see how far I can go and see where my skills land. omg i have my first day for tryouts in 2 days! i’ll try to update you guys :)) (i’m going into 13u competitive) day 1: i think i did pretty good, but i got kind of scared since a lot of coaches went up close to the other girls while they were doing drills and for me the coaches were just looking at me from afar. overall, i did pretty great! i got all of my serves over the net and i had no trouble with anything! - hellooo sorry i forgot to update this, but i got in the team! the other days i had tryouts went well so yeeeah:)

I tried out today and a coach served the ball at me and my thumb bent so badly and I had to set and I lasted an hour and 30 minutes until I had to tell them. It was so hard to play with my finger and I’m so frustrated bc it was a pain to play and get the right hit, sets and passes
