That's what makes it so weird We have some low quality walls out here but they are uniform sized rocks with cement/mortar in between. A poor man's rock wall. Mixing of quality precision blocks with shards is unstable and ugly.
Looks like it was a really bad repair job done by somebody who did not build it the first time !!! We did not build it the first time, or all the brick and stone buildings !!!
SHRUG !! if some smart person could prove or disprove the mortarlines were part of an old quarrying technique I'd be grateful .because they are one sketchy coincidence ...

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If it looks, smells, and feels like a turd. It's probably not a good idea to taste.

Looks like it was thrown together using destroyed old pieces of that place. But who the hell would approve that look.
