Careful Mike, first comes the high of cheap auctions and the next thing you know, you're laying in the gutter in a dark alley hugging a Turok, Dinosaur Hunter #1 😮
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
To this day I remember unpacking the first issue of Sandman. When it originally came out I was managing a pretty large comic shop. I was sold when I was filling out the order forms and put it down for 50 issues. When the store owner reviewed the order before placing it, he had a fit. The day it came out we sold out and couldn't get any restock. After that he upped our orders for issues two and three. He never questioned my numbers on orders again. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Wow Mike so cool! I knew if anyone could figure that coverless book out it would be you. Not only did you figure it out but the info you provided is ALL stuff I was unaware of. So cool. Thanks for the shoutout and beyond that for the wealth of knowledge!
Mike you should get a reproduction cover made up for that worlds finest issue. I have a Batman #5 that’s cover less and on eBay I contacted a seller named handmedowns321. He custom made me a really high quality cover. Just slipping it over the cover less comic makes it present so nicely.
What? You haven’t read Sandman? You must make amends! You have to have a Sandman giveaway! Death may have to visit you in your Dreams! Oh Mike, great video! One of your best!
Mike love this video it's so diverse. Makes me think a video entirely of you talking through/ showing your back wall in detail. Your favourite your journey finding them. Just an idea. Keep up your great work.👍
Great stuff! I've only started dipping my toes into Whatnot recently, and yes, I've seen you pop into some streams, just yesterday in fact. LOL Would definitely have bid against you for that X-Men 4. The other day on Whatnot, I got what will probably be my cheapest Alex Schomburg cover ever: Invaders Annual #1 for $1.
Bedrock is a great store! I really love digging through. My girlfriend lives in Framingham, I'm there for about half the week. We frequent that store and the Hall of Comics which is just over in Westborough. Rubber Chicken Comics in Bellingham also has some really cool back issues (that one's a little farther away).
Those DC records are pretty sweet. The only record I had like that as a kid was a Star Trek record with a really bad voice cast. Sandman is such an awesome series. Neil Gaiman is a master. Great books all around, especially those Golden Age books, and a wicked good deal on that 9.8 X-Men 4.
What nice gifts you got from Tyler. Those were some old books for sure. Looks like he will have plenty of books for many uploads. I will have to check him out! Thx!
I enjoy whatnot quite a bit! Easy to spend to much money but that's on the consumers. Just be smart and bid smart! Some incredible sellers on the platform and if I remember I'll come back and drop the channels I frequent most
Great pick ups! A nice variety of books to add to your personal collection - you're going to need a bigger room to store all these books! I'm glad you crack those old books out and give them a read. There's something about the smell of that old paper, hard to explain to people!
Those are some good books you got at a deal. I got House of bloodstone#1 nm at a yard sale this past weekend for $2.00 and i was in shock cause in the condition that book is its easy a 9.6 maybe 9.8 so thats a steal I got.
WhatNot is great, but I've run into sellers who start auctions at and even above FMV for a book, then get upset that no one is buying. I understand they don't want a book to go for peanuts but start it at half FMV at least or put it in the BIN and run some dollar books instead! The true fun of WhatNot is the community engagement and the thrill of live bidding against someone else trying to get a good deal.
Yea you can find some decent deals on there from time to time but I stopped using them due to the high cost of shipping and its very easy to get caught in the hype while live
I'm done collecting floppy comics. I hit all of my goals and there's nothing I'd like to buy anymore, I'd just be wasting money. Just yesterday I decided to collect original art thanks to watching a RUclips channel, The Comics Den. They are a husband and wife comic book RUclipsrs from Florida but the husband, Angelo is from New York and has that thick NY accent. They're so nice and they recently attended OAX (original Art Expo). Maybe someday you'll own an originl Dave Stevens art, Mike. Or a John Bryne original art. I'm gonna pull the trigger on a Del Otto original art, a Ken Lashley and I was recommended this one artist that's been killing it on the comic book art scene, Manix Abrera. He draws cartoon versions of classic covers.I plan to buy a Mike Allred original art too! And check out The Comic Den's RUclips channel! They're awesome!
Great pickups man! Although I think you were being kind calling that FF30 1st Diablo high grade. Saw quite a bit of tanning. I’d say closer to a 7.5-8.0 at best.
Mike! When I heard the “you overpay on what not” i face palmed and almost messaged the same advice you mentioned after. What people dont realize, is YES it is a gamble for the customer because you’re bidding, but YES it is still a gamble for the seller. Sometimes I feel bad at the deal I got that I have to tip them to ease my mind morally. Great video, as always!
Towards the middle right is that nightcrawler original cover art? If so I am curious to where you found that because I am trying to find some original comic book cover or panel art and I don’t know where to look. Thank you great video.
love that X-factor run! My LCS recently added dollar bins and they had tons of the X-factor run... I was super tempted, but didn't pull the trigger. Then right before Xmas, they did buy 10, get 10 for free... I couldn't say no at 50 cents a pop. Not quite as good as .25 cents... but still. I have snagged all, except the 4 big keys in the first 60 issues now and I"m reading them. Clasic Simonson and Simonson action. Love it.
I too have that cool Rocketeer item with the tape hanging on the wall, I was lucky to grab mine for $5 at a flea market.... so cool to see others with it in their collection... and I sub'd to the youtuber with the cool old school books!!
Wow! You got a lot of great deals. Thanks for sharing all of your fines. I agree with you hard to pick just one Comics that is the best of the bunch. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. 😎
That ROCKETEER 3D Comic and Cassette Tape was one of the few comics that I was able to get my hands on as a kid. I didn't have access to a comic shop, so it was Archie comics at the supermarket checkout stands and specialty packaged stuff like this, which was sold in the books and toys isle at department stores. I was obsessed with The Rocketeer that summer before the movie came out. I would draw his winged helmet over and over, watch the Behind-The-Scenes promo spots on the Disney Channel at my Grandma's house, and daydream about what it would be like flying around with a jetpack. My parents took me to see the movie when it came out, but all the Tommy Guns, Nazi gangsters and the weird giant hitman scared the crap out of me. I revisited it later as an adult and loved it, of course. I have always enjoyed Alan Arkin's relatable neurotic, deadpan humor. I still have the 3D comic, but since it's trashed and since there's not a half-naked 40's "good girl" drawn by Dave Stevens on the cover, it's worthless now. So you should probably just toss yours too.
Have to agree you got some great titles...enjoy the Sandman trade, you will devour the rest.. also try Death trades as they are also brilliant... Well done on the Omega Red slab, I managed to win a signed copy as a follower giveaway from a US based what not seller..as you say, evening shows can be expensive...I recently got caught up in a bidding war for a Vampirella title..buyers regret, possibly but it's done and I have a great addition to that collection. Good luck with other morning shows..
I had that Rocketeer book as a kid and just recently bought a "childhood replacement" copy. The interior art is awesome and the 3D specs really make the art pop off the page in a fun way 👍
I originally talked about a Ravenloft comic (and the setting in general) in the video which is why I had the shirt on. But the video was too long and I ended up cutting it. Tshirt was an Easter egg I guess lol.
Careful Mike, first comes the high of cheap auctions and the next thing you know, you're laying in the gutter in a dark alley hugging a Turok, Dinosaur Hunter #1 😮
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
$0.25 cent comics? His and Her Comics in Greenfield? I’m there.
To this day I remember unpacking the first issue of Sandman. When it originally came out I was managing a pretty large comic shop. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Your wife's record was in the best condition of the three. She's a keeper!
'Play around in this sandbox' lol. One of the first books I picked up after returning to the hobby was Sandman #1!
Wow Mike so cool! I knew if anyone could figure that coverless book out it would be you. Not only did you figure it out but the info you provided is ALL stuff I was unaware of. So cool. Thanks for the shoutout and beyond that for the wealth of knowledge!
The first time you read the Sandman is unforgettable!
Thank you, great video alsoo😉😉

I imagine whatever Bruce Wayne got up to one his day shift would NOT get past the code...!
The gifts was so cool.
I so need a vintage captain marvel comic 😁
I remember that rocketeer 🤙🏽😎
I got that Sandman TPB couple months ago haven’t finished but I will reading the new run too
God, I'm envious abouth FF 30TH..
Great stuff! I've only started dipping my toes into Whatnot recently, and yes, I've seen you pop into some streams, just yesterday in fact. LOL Would definitely have bid against you for that X-Men 4. Mike I’m getting fantastic four #80 ver fine $80.00 Canadian paying on layaway.
Many Golden Age collectors like robot covers. Hence, value despite condition
Those Whatnot picks 🎉❤ and Whiz Comics were close to my heart 😊 Awesome video, and makes me want to jump in Whatnot 😅😅
Congratulations mike , those are great

Did you call the wrecking crew silly😮 just love those villains
Great pick ups! A nice variety of books to add to your personal collection - you're going to need a bigger room to store all these books! I'm glad you crack those old books out and give them a read. There's something about the smell of that old paper, hard to explain to people!
Thor #150 for two bucks is an amazing deal! 👍
Given the shirt you're wearing, what if you did a video reviewing your d&d collection. Especially if you own old 1st and 2nd edition stuff!
I actually had a bit in this video about D&d (thus the shirt) but cut it for time. Maybe I’ll touch upon it in the future
Thor 150 is a great pick up. I'd love to have that book, too. Never been on What Not? but I may check it out.
Those are some good books you got at a deal. I got House of bloodstone#1 nm at a yard sale this past weekend for $2.00 and i was in shock cause in the condition that book is its easy a 9.6 maybe 9.8 so thats a steal I got.
I also have never read Sandman. I do have the huge coffee table edition and will someday but I definitely understand how you haven’t so far
You are a walking encyclopedia, Mike! Of course, those are some great deals 👏
That JLA is a fantastic read. I had a copy way back when. I hooe you enjoy the read.
Those Thor books are beautiful. Might have to check out what not.
I'd say most comics from the golden age are worth something.
You will have to do a little review of the Sandman. I would be interested in hearing about what you think about it honestly.
It’s hard to stop bidding but those “wars” do happen. More often than not i do well at night, the best deals were midday
WhatNot is great, but I've run into sellers who start auctions at and even above FMV for a book, then get upset that no one is buying. Great deals and pickups...and I love the Wrecking Crew
Wow so many 25cent books I’d buy
I played Curse of Strahd and all I got was TPKed!
I love it when you do deep dives into comics history!! Very Cool!!
Awsome shirt. Love the channel
I have amethyst #1 signed by Gary Cohn he didn’t even charge me to sign it!
I’m still looking for X-men 129
What Not is great! ive got great deals on there!

Thanks, and yeah I'm very familiar with Comics Den, they are great!
I have that Thor book and 2$ is a steal
In love with the channel right now!
Great pickups man! Although I think you were being kind calling that FF30 1st Diablo high grade. Saw quite a bit of tanning. I’d say closer to a 7.5-8.0 at best.
I think I meant it was a higher grade than what I paid for it, but yeah, probably a 7.5 tops.
Keep up the good work sir 👍🏻

I totally get the feeling bad. When I got that Hela cover for $2 I got a knot in my stomach lol
this was a great show , thank you
Towards the middle right is that nightcrawler original cover art? If so I am curious to where you found that because I am trying to find some original comic book cover or panel art and I don’t know where to look. Thank you great video.
It’s actually from a friend of mine, Bigby McFly the Comic Guy
awesome pick up Mike 💯

Super interesting and so nice of pocketsfullofcomics and Adam.
I liked The Avengers and defenders comics that you showed cause I collected those as a kid and it was nostalgic for me to see them again. Good stuff
Man I just recently played curse of strahd it was so much fun!
Definitely my favorite adventure!
maybe i need to go to massachusetts because it seems like there’s a lot of comic book places there lol
That Batman panel would make a great t-shirt

Hank Pym A.K A HAppy the Slappy Husband... Is he roomies with Slapper Carr?
I'd love to read that many WHIZs in one sitting ....!Enjoy!!

More awesome finds Mike. Thanks for sharing.
Going on whatnot in the day has definitely been my go to time. I've gotten so many great deals on there.
I had that Rocketeer book as a kid and just recently bought a "childhood replacement" copy. The interior art is awesome and the 3D specs really make the art pop off the page in a fun way 👍
I can't choose either; everything you showed was crazy! Even that dope Batman record gifted to you. Who ever gave you that record is a G!
I too would have a tough time picking out the best from this group, all great comics for amazing prices! Great finds Mike
Thanks for sharing this, truly excellent content!
Love this! Thanks Mike. Love your enthusiasm for the books, toys and everything in general. You are a true treasure.
You like Dave Stevens?? Never would have guessed. Let's listen
Fantastic video! Tons of great comics and a plethora of knowledge and a story behind them. Love it!
I love Bedrock Comics! Jack is a fantastic guy.
wow, great video. thanks so much
I wish I had your luck!! Love the channel.
Great video, appreciate you sharing it!
👽🍻
no WAY you got Thor 150 for $2 😭
I did! Couldn't believe it. Almost felt bad about it lol.
Thanks a ton, this was super helpful!
Are those Whiz comics going on the wall?
Being a non-gamer your t-shirt makes no sense to me...!
Fantastic vid!!! Thanks a lot!
Can't wait to start my collection
ill definitely try that, thanks!
very helpful, worth the watch
Great show guys, thank you
Mike didn’t they burn comics in bonfires back then because of that.
Believe they did
Love the tshirt. If your dungeon group didn't know how most ravenloft campaigns end then they must of been disgruntled. Lol
I originally talked about a Ravenloft comic (and the setting in general) in the video which is why I had the shirt on. But the video was too long and I ended up cutting it. Tshirt was an Easter egg I guess lol.
@@lunchmoneycomics too bad, back in the day apart from comics DND games and novels like dragonlance, forgotten realms and ravenloft was my jam. Lol
what a gift
Nice haul
