- The future is here, and regulations are near. If there were a theme to this year's Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, it would be sustainable choices fleets can make now. Companies are determining how they’ll now shift to meet regulations from CARB or EPA-and the technology on display at ACT Expo may be key for some of them looking to stay ahead of the curve.
Fleet Equipment's Jason Morgan and David Sickels are back again to bring you all the action in our “From the Show Floor” video series, and this year’s first episode starts off with a bang. We're speaking with three very important people from Cummins - Jose Samperio, Tim Frazier and Puneet Jhawar - to see how they’re tackling decarbonization. That’s followed by our conversation with Rebecca Schenker, vice president of regulatory compliance for GNA, a TRC company, to understand the standards CARB and EPA's GHG Phase 3 are aiming to set.
We've also got headlines from around the convention hall:
Daimler Truck North America brought its new eCascadia technology demonstrator truck to show some of its newest developments on offer, as well as a fully electric Altec bucket truck.
Peterbilt had an array of new vehicles to display, including two Model 579 trucks running on alternative fuels. One was an EV, while the other was equipped to run on natural gas, with a Cummins X15N engine.
Penske introduced a division of the business (appropriately named Penske Energy) that's designed to support companies making the switch to EVs, through charging and infrastructure education, and more.
Accelera by Cummins also makes our list for the first day, showing a full line-up of differing technologies like its FCE300 FCEV engine, Cummins X15H hydrogen engine, 14Xe e-axles, battery packs and an EV International RH Class 8 truck.
OEMs, suppliers, service companies and more-Fleet Equipment is covering press conferences and presentations from all across ACT Expo, so watch our video series for all your headline news from sunny Las Vegas!
