When I was growing up, my granny was my favorite cook. My mama was also a fantastic cook, but there was just something about being in granny’s kitchen. We all gathered around the table when we went to her house. I have made it easy for you to learn how to cook like my granny and mama did with cooking tutorials for every recipe in our cookbooks. You can see how to order these by visiting us on our website. Oh, and no difficult-to-find or crazy ingredients! Just simple ingredients and delicious food. I am a Southern girl born and raised in Collard Valley in Polk County, Georgia. We went to church on Sunday, school during the week, and the grocery store on Friday, and that was our life: no vacations, no camping, just plain old southern country people.
If you learn to cook like my mama and granny, you will become one of the best Southern cooks. Thank you so much for being a part of this dream of mine.

Woke up this morning "54°" outside. Yes it's chili time😊
Upper minnesota
I miss my collard valley cooks Facebook videos. I don’t know why they won’t notify me anymore. My settings are set as favorites. Glad to catch you here!
I think Tammy had kind of turned that Facebook channel over to her sister Malissa. But now I think Malissa has her own channel but I don't know the name of it.
@@cathyprosser1050 no I follow Melissa’s but after Tammy switched to this new one, it won’t give me the notifications.
I am from Texas and I love beans in my chili. 🌶️ lol. They've have softened alittle on that subject
Both chili’s looks delicious love it when it’s cold weather
Looks delicious
I just found your sight a few days ago. I can’t stop watching. I grew up in West Tennessee and 43 yrs ago moved to Texas. Your method of cooking is just like me and the way my mama did it too. I love your comments and everything. You’ve found your calling. I wish you much luck in your new home and cooking features. There’s one thing I did notice. You were making hamburger steaks. You really mix it a lot. I was always told that the less you mix the more tender it’ll be. My mother in law also believe it. And she knew it all. lol.
Perfect recipes for the first day of Fall. Been cravin' some for awhile & decided today would be a great day to put some together. Thanks! Love your teamwork.💕 (chicken 'n dumplings next😊) Rainy, windy, 'chili' day here SW of Chicago. Great indoor cooking day. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.💖💕
I always make rice and cornbread when I make chili. And we each eat it in different combinations. Chili is great like that, everyone can make it just the way they like. 😊
It gets extremely cold here in Minnesota. Chili is a comfort food during the winter. 😊
Yep I said the same thing 😊
Oh yeah, good comfort food! We love chili here @ our house!😊🇱🇷
I'm a Texan, and call me crazy, but I LOVE pinto and red kidney beans in my chili - and I'm NOT the only Texan who loves the beans in chili. I'm from San Antonio where chili was BORN, and that original chili from way back then HAD BEANS IN IT!!! So come at me Texas! I'll tell you to pull up your britches and learn your history better!!!
Been a while! Love fall, y'all! Got my fall lights and mini trees up today. Love Chile, too! So fall. Football! yay! God bless!
Both of those recipes look great. I've not ever made it with the 2 meats in it but I'm sure that one is a lot heartier. 😋 Those folks not putting beans in their chili have "hot dog chili" maybe, but not the kind I want a bowl of 😊 ❤ Y'all done good 👍
No beans in my chili! Evah!!! And if I order some from a restaurant ~ I will sit and pick out every bean before eating that bowl if chili. People misguidedly think it's the beans that make it chili ~ it's NOT! It's the spices you use that make a great chili! Period, drop the mic! 🎤
I love chili 😋
You guys are adorable!!!! Love Chili!!!..Both look GREAT!!!
Glad you informed us about that canopener. I absolutely loved it before you spoke about it. Mine has been acting up for the past week & I'm in the market for a new durable one. Gonna check out your shop kitchen & "must haves".❤😊🎉
Looks soooo good! I use the Joan of Arc spicy chili beans, they give it a slight kick😋
It's going to be 90 degrees today and a possible TS/hurricane threat later in the week so the chili may have to wait.😊
Have a great day!!
Chris is so funny and entertaining...love this cooking show
I recieved my Rada cutlery knives yesterday! Thanks to your channel I'm stocking my kitchen with some nice things. (I'm a real person.) 😊
I bake bread and use a Rada's tomato knife to score my bread dough perfectly. Boy those knives are super sharp!
Enjoy!
Fantastic and Delicious !
I would definitely substitute Cumin instead of Basil??
personally i like to add a lot more spice like, chilli powder, cumin, garlic * onion power, paprika, cayenne, red pepper flakes, ground cinnamon & cocoa powder (for depth of flavor)and I rinse my beans to get the salt/starch out of it, there's so many ways to make chili and it was nice of you to share yours! the double meat is a great idea, thanks.
🎉 chilli looks delicious 😋😋
Sounds delicious. Love chili
Cornbread a must with chili
Looks delicious ❤❤

Ms. Ruby
Hello from Washington State, not D.C.! I'm on the Pacific side!😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That’s how I drain fat off meat, easy and quick! Chili looks great, will give a try!
Pulled pork is a great chili meat
yummy to the tummy❤
I love chili my mom always used red beans so that's the only way I have ever fixed it. But man that sure looks good.
Love chili.
We love some good chili we also add a roll of hot dog chili to are chili it's so good.. think I may make some today kinda cool here in Kansas to.. They both look amazing..
Hi from the Ozarks in Arkansas. The high today here is 92 degrees. So not cool here yet. October is the month it cools down here with our first frost usually near the end of October. I love homemade chilli and can eat it anytime. Have a great week!
Hi y’all from Texas.
Great video. Give Mexene Chili Powder a try.... Great stuff out of Texas and I think it adds all extra of that chili flavor.
looks great. if you put your chili powder with your oil and veggies or meat (it can be after most grease is drained) near the end of their cook the fat brings out the chili powder flavor - do the same with cumin.
Love both recipes. Chris made me laugh. He was in rare form today. 😂
Some cornbread would go really well with both those chili recipes. And Chris may sound like the Bob Ross of cooking but he looks more like the Winston Churchill of cooking with those glasses on. You should've had a blind taste test at the end and see if you could identify which chili was which. They're very similar. Both look delicious.
I put Dr.Pepper in my homemade chili
Yummy !!
👍❤️
Nice story Bob Ross 😂
Hey from Maryland
Hello from Texas
Hello everyone
Hello!

Miss Tammy……………. I GOT YOUR CAN OPENER LONG AGO!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE❤
I’ve never made chili, I made goulash though, and a friend came by while I was cooking goulash and she said it looked and smelled like her chili. I have no idea why I’ve never made chili, probably because my mom seldom made it, or maybe because I don’t care for cayenne pepper. I frequently make Frito pie….my version, not the version I used to eat that I bought at “The Stand” on the way home from school which consisted of a small bag of Fritos split down one side, then chili added to it and cheese, so I do eat it, just don’t make it. 😂 I like your hairdo with a nod to Elvis! 😊😊😊😊 PS a friend puts green beans in her chili, have y’all ever heard of that?
This looks great! I also add a tablespoon of Fajita seasoning to my chili. I’m going to try your recipe Tammy even tho my husband told me not to change a thing my chili!😂. Chis yours looks wonderful too!
My husband has to open up my cans I have rheumatoid arthritis in fingers
Does it matter what kind of peppers you use?
We like a sweet pepper
Hey y'all ❤❤❤
Hormel makes a canned chili that has no beans.
I missing some new videos.
Lovely show! Liked that each of you cooked. Love watching Chris cook. He relaxes me. Chris is much more handsome without the old man glasses. 🤣
I’m very picky about my chili. Mine is never as good as momma’s and my sister’s. Both have went home to be with Jesus. My momma and sister always used Mexene chili powder, tomato paste, tomato sauce ( red gold) light red kidney bean (2) cans, 3 lbs ground beef, and 2 big onions and 1/2 lb spaghetti. I would love to eat their chili just one more time. It’s that time of the year to get chili fixins stocked up and veggie soup. I bet these are delicious. Thank you Tammy and Chris.. Love ya❗️❤
But is has beans 😢
Hi Tammy and Chris for sharing this with me and that looks so delicious 😋 ❤❤❤❤😊
