HAUNTED ARADALE LUNATIC ASYLUM | Did its Ghosts Help Catch Thieves?

  • The very haunted Aradale Lunatic Asylum was opened in 1867 and shut in 1993. Many controversial medical treatments were trialled during this time, and over 13,000 people died. Do their ghosts/spirits remain, and even more importantly, did they help catch some thieves?
    We are not presenting this as proof that ghosts exist; how do you prove that? We are only sharing some curious moments during this investigation with any of our followers who may be interested. We will leave it up to you to make of it what you will.
    Thanks to Eerie Tours for allowing Haunted Horizons, ‪@AmysCrypt‬ and ‪@ParanormalQuest‬ to investigate. Their episodes can be found on their channels.

    Something that really scares me about asylums is if the some of the patients there can't tell the difference between their hallucinations and real life, how would they even be able to tell that they've died? 🥺😳

    • @haunted-horizons
      @haunted-horizons  Год назад +6

      That is an interesting thought. I also wonder from time to time, when they pass over, do they leave their mental health issues behind due to it being brain-related (physical brain), which they wouldn't have if they are just energy? Maybe that is one we could contemplate in a future podcast as at our own Asylum, we do appear to get what seems like one person but with multiple-personality.

There is something to be said about your compassion and your handling of locations that have been the sight of major trauma. You are both fantastic at what you do. Hi girls that sound Kag heard was acoustic feedback similar to the squeal you get when you put a microphone to close to a speaker. Every room has an audio frequency and Alison's voice started to match that frequency causing a feedback with the natural reverb in the room. If a singer can match the frequency of a wine glass they can break it just with there voice. It's a good job there weren't any around when you sang bohemian rhapsody.😂😂🤣🤣At the end of a night when playing in a band I once sang Daddy's home and at the end there was a woman crying. I asked was it the words in the song that made you sad....She said no I'm a singing instructor.😥😥 The bit where it said ...Do you want to die and... You will followed by... Like us gave me goose bumps. I loved it as always thanks gals for a great episode and I'll see you on the next one.❤❤ 👍🏻👍🏻👻👻

      Hi Geoff, I did wonder whether it was the resonance of our own voices... but I couldn't hear it to be sure lol. Yeah I must admit, I forgot about the "Do you want to die" and don't really remember saying a lot of this stuff, but when I was editing and listening back it gave me the chills too. Idon't think it felt like a threat, just they were informing us that one day we would be like them.

    Just finished watching! Really interesting how Alison saw a flash and you heard a hum (which I didn't hear BTW lol) Perhaps they chose to communicate to each of you in different ways! I could hear the spirit box going (unless what I heard was EVP thru your mic?) No wonder she's deaf and can only see flashes 🤣 @39:45 I heard Philip BEFORE Alison said it. @40:06 "John" (or "done/Dunn" maybe a surname?)
    And the high point! When you guys say "we CAN sing" @40:39 I heard an "ummm.." 😂 I laughed so loud!!

    Aradale is hands down the most creepy, imposing building I've ever been in, even more imposing than many historic prisons and castles I've been to. While I didn't have any ghostly experiences there, it stuck with me in my thoughts for months and months. Driving up that hill in the dark, and seeing that building loom out of the darkness was so terrifying, even to my husband, who doesn't believe in ghosts. We were there on a really foggy night in June, which made it feel extra atmospheric... an odd choice for a night out on our honeymoon, but it was so worth the drive from Stawell, and worth freezing our tits off for three hours!
    As I've said to you guys before, thank you for being so respectful to the spirits. It breaks my heart to think of people being treated like demons not only in life, but in death as well. They were treated worse than animals, and no matter how "insane" they were, or what they did in life, or how they behave in death, they were people.

    • @haunted-horizons
      @haunted-horizons  Год назад +1

      Oh, the best kind of honeymoon! lol I couldn't agree more with you Belinda, nobody choses to have mental health issues, it is something that creeps up on a person. What they need is help and understanding which they didn't get back then. It is why we are big on being respectful and not forgetting these were once people that were dealt a rough hand in life. It is also why we support beyondblue too and my business donates each year to helping mental health 😊

    Do you think that the all the responses that you receive are intelligent, or are a lot of them residual. Which brings me to the next question, do disturbed people, when they pass
    away, revert to normal intelligence.

    • @haunted-horizons
      @haunted-horizons  Год назад

      These are such great questions Alan, and ones I have been asking for years. I think personally, it is a mixture of both. The one giving the information at the beginning seemed to be very precise and aware, yet at other times with the sounds and feelings of emotions, I do wonder if it is just residual too sometimes. Maybe there is no one box, but we are dealing with different layers.
      As for reverting to normal thinking, another great question, and I was just talking about this the other day. I wondered, if mental illness is because of a brain functioning issue whether physical or chemical... if we don't have a physical brain that can malfunction over on the other side, do we loose what is affecting our thinking on this side and start to clearly think once more, or do we take that part of our personality over with us. I wished I had the answers.

    Well I really like you two however for the most part of the time up to the timestamp 25:00 of this video someone was talking over whoever had the microphone!! Oh I can't say how unnerving that is! Trying to listen to what's going on and you have other people talking over the person with the microphone sucks!! Its very disrespectful for everyone involved! Sorry guys but its true! Take care and best regards.

      Hi ts, I just had a look, as was a little confused, but saw that the 25 minutes you mentioned, was footage from 2018/19, which I put at the beginning of the episode. We have evolved a long way since then. We weren't even using microphones back then, plus this was a live stream for our followers and not intended for RUclips. I just thought it was interesting to tack on to the beginning of this episode to recap on our last visit. The good news is anything filmed from our return from U.K. this year, onwards, has microphones and double cameras. Some of the older stuff I am still putting together though as still some interesting stuff, but it won't have mics or documentary-style filming. We were only ever about livestreaming back then... we learn and we evolve lol.
      Sorry you didn't enjoy, but we do understand that our style isn't for everybody. Thank you for giving us a try though xx
