Orthodox Church music is the closest thing to heaven I've ever experienced on Earth. Chesnokov, Rachmaninov, and Tchaikovsky's arrangements of the liturgy are the most incredible thing I've ever heard.
Hi! I like Rachmaninov and church hymns. I want to hear what you're describing, but I don't know what to search or look for in Spotify etc. Could you help me? Thank you.
Russian orthodox churches rarely had organs, so the choir has more work to do and they made up for it by making more use of the basso profundo, which they call the oktavist. While it's normally a supporting voice, it's still clearly present. This rendition is designed specifically to showcase that part of the register, so it's a lot more prominent--and it's utterly glorious! ❤️ If you want to hear more, search for Oktavism and you'll have a great time exploring this fantastic choral tradition.
Incidentally, the best bass notes are nearly always at the end of the piece, so stick around for the whole bit! Some of the big, final notes beggar belief... 😳
Russian churches didn't often have organs, so the basso profundo voice, which they call the oktavist, helped to build out the sound. While it's a supporting element in choirs normally, this is a performance specifically of that register, so it's a lot stronger in the mix than you would otherwise ever have it--and it's utterly glorious! ❤️
You wake up in the middle of the night, you hear this music with a robotic voice saying "The simulation will now close goodnight". 2021 Wraped up pretty well.
@@NJCNuke it’s a video recording all done seperate from each other which I then run through an audio and video software. Then I mix everybody so it sounds good, volume and EQ. Reverb comes next and then I align the videos altogether

Bach is even closer
It indeed is.
As a baritone, my throat hurt from even imagining those notes. Great work!
As a tenor I just weep silently at the majesty while I try to get down to hit A2...

My throat hurts from imagining the high notes. xD
The guy in green shirt is the deepest bass on TikTok i have met. 🍀🎶
Favoriting this. This is something I'm gonna wanna watch the 1 or 2 times a year when I look at my favorites.

I thought it was because the Orthodox church placed the voice as true instrument of God's creation, but that explanation also lines up.
This just brings tears to my eyes It’s just so beautiful🥺
I wish i could find more like this
This performance brought me to tears you are all so talented. Thank you !!
Плохо, если честно
incredible.
God Bless you all.
It is very beautiful. The bass is remarkable.
Не нужно так выпячиваться . это обращение к богу , а не красоааниеиголома и его возможностей. Нет баланса и грубо очень.
@@максзил What are you talking about? If you read my comment, it is a compliment. I love church music. You owe me an apology, big way, sir.

@@mrsnegy6001 я не про ваш комментарий. я тоже люблю. церковную музыку. басам мягче нужно петь.
Darksouls boss in comming getttin ready too roll
I got chills .. this is incredible
Is the bass voice supposed to be a soloist? If so, sounds amazing!
This piece was written to showcase the Russian low bass or oktavist, so yes!

This is truly sublime. I didn't know humans could sound like this. Truly beautiful and deeply profound.
Also here from TikTok.
Took my breath away. Bravo. This was beyond amazing
Those are some awesome bass notes
BELLISIMO! Made me cry!
This is just awesome.
As a Bass(2nd / 1st mix) i approve. Though i feel like Tenor compared to these gods. For stupid reasons i cant get as low as i used to.
Practice, practice and yet more practice. I've added 4 half steps to my range.
Amazing job! Excellent collaboration!

Here from the tok. Also we need this same thing, but something Warhammer 40k themed.
Why doesn't this have a billion views.
I wish people would focus on music and forget about lust for invasive wars, blood shed, and violence.
Amazing!
Piękny profundo!
this sounds very good, one recomendation i have is for the basses notes to flow moreso than feel like a series of notes.
How is the audio quality this good? Was every track recorded separately on decent equipment?
Haha no they all recorded on their phones the sound is mainly because of my audio engineering
@@xandertheoktavist that’s impressive! but I guess they all had a clear connection and no noisecanceling on their mics

So wonderful! But who has the deepest voice?
Awesome
Wow
This is fucking sick
I want to know what everyone sounds like individually.
Can you post this to IGTV? I would love to share it!
Can you upload it to Spotify?)
Hey! Sorry to distract you, but I'm very curious why most of the choral works are in Russian?
It’s quite alright. Most choral works do not write for the low bass like the Russians do.
Because only the Russians are crazy enough to write those notes into choral music. xD

Middle right most guy in white was doing extreme bass
Which one is the oktavist?
Not a single dislike, can see why

а причём тут эти люди, если пели другие?
