thank you so much, even though i watched this 5 years later. i finally got a Poliwhirl with the hidden ability, and can even try to get more mons now. i tried for like 700+ hours to get good mons in grottos, but only got one female Heracross and one male dragonite, i didnt have luck at all. thanks again
So since you can't RNG eggs in BW2 but hidden grottos (and thus grotto hidden abilities) are only in the sequels, do you ever run into some unsolvable RNG problems like having to choose between either: hidden ability/flawless IVs/Nature OR shininess/desired moves learned only by pre-evolution? I don't have any "real-life" examples but let's assume this for a moment: Purrloin learns some moves that Liepard can't, but only Liepard can be found in grottos. So if I want a shiny Liepard with its hidden ability, flawless IVs and that hypothetical Purrloin-only move, is there anything I can do to achieve that? Or can I only either: 1) keep blindly breeding that grotto (female) Liepard in hopes I eventually hatch a shiny Purrloin with hidden ability or 2) trade the grotto Liepard female back to BW1 and RNG breed it there?
When you say that the all of the grottoes that are before the preferred RNG one need to be filled, are you referring to the list of the grottoes you scroll through or another list like the one on Serebii? I am trying to RNG for a chatot and I would like to know which ones I have to fill.Thank you!

Having lot of trouble trying to get dragonite 6 IV, my timer0 going all over the place, I was getting 1678 five out seven times during calibration, but as I go for dragonite timer0 is getting as high as 1683

You probably didn't hit the correct time. My first time doing it recently also took me 3 attempts for a chatot, and even still I usually take 1-2 attempts for grotto pokemon. Most likely because Gen5 has some timer0 nonsense that can just screw you sometimes. try afew times and you should get it.
Chatot's cry changes pitch based on the current seed and will advance the seed one frame, because the current frame has been used. This allows you to efficiently forward RNG frames.
I’ve ran into an odd conundrum, I followed the steps & was able to successfully RNG the correct mon with the gender I wanted however when I went to RNG the IVs & nature it had taken me a while to line up the chatot chatters correctly & when I finally got it correct the nature was correct but it only had IVs 31 for speed & I needed anything but Sp.Atk My game fluctuates through 2 separate timer0s at about a 50 50 rate & no matter how many time I redid the Giants Chasm capture it was impossible to get my cart to settle on 1 of the two more then the other on my 3DS & I did about 50 with 25 landing on T0:167B & T0:1689 but I had my profile set to the first timer as I hit that one first & my sister copy of BW2 has the same timer0 far more consistently I know I was hitting the correct seed as a nature that was not even listed on the RNGReported would drop if I wasn’t but is there anything I’m possibly not taking into consideration Also the Jolly nature I wanted was only on 1 frame & I didn’t see any other listed in RNGReporter, also I double checked the generator with the maximum IVs selected in everything but Sp.Atk & it still had loaded the same frame on 73 with my starting frame being 51 exactly 22 chatot chatters at the date & time I selected

Ok nvm I decided to give it a nether attempt & I had figured out the problem, see this was a pre owned copy of black 2 that I bought at my local game store last month & there was a file on it already that was at the elite 4 so I had cleared it & been using it to farm up some Poke’s & items before I restart the game But the file was started back in 2012 so I tried using the memory link checkbox encase the previous owner had used it & also only Cobalion was caught & in the PC so Terrakian spawned in the spot when I cleared the Elite 4 & I have no clue where Virizion is cuz I’ve never really played BW2 before despite me having a copy of white one for a few years now but I’m assuming it’s a roamer White 2 also already had a cleared file & I kinda just left it cuz a friend gave me that cart but that being said I never would’ve guessed that the Terrakian counts as a roamer or probably Virizion cuz I don’t see a dex entry of it on my B2 so there’s no way the prior owner caught it & traded it out but they defiantly used the memory link cuz with all three box checks clicked the next Jolly one I spawned had 31 IVs in everything but Sp.Atk like I needed
Yes, but it's a little harder to get the nature you want. You need either a Synchronize lead with the desired nature, or to find a seed where your desired nature is on the frame after the initial. Edit: You could also save to advance the PID frame but that's quite slow
it means you should make sure they have either an item, a Pokémon, or a hidden item (use the dowsing machine to check, it should be in the middle if there is a hidden item). if it's empty (aka no items or Pokemons are there then you should walk 250 steps so it can regenerate, unfortunately there's only a 5% chance but once it does it means it's "full")
Hey Jake, what if I found nothing inside, not even a hidden item? Does that mean that I simply missed the seed and there can be a seed that yields absolutely nothing, or there's something wrong?
The opposite, all grottos before the one you want to try have to be full, with either an item or a Pokemon. you only need to reset the grotto you want to have something new in. aka the one you try to rng
