Your cover version of "Dream On" is the best cover I've ever heard. No one sings that song as good as you do. Your singing is amazing!! Thanks for teaching and demonstrating how to sing "Dream On". I sang "Dream On" at karaoke a few times. Love that song. That would be great to hear a female cover of "Dream On" from any of your female students.
I did this song a few times at Karaoke bars back in the late Nineties. This song is like getting up from a chair and running a 40 yard dash. Very challenging. I wished I'd had this video back then. When it comes to tone, I prefer Coverdale to Tyler hands down. That said, I love some of the cool things Steven does with his voice. This song is still one of my all-time Aerosmith favorites. Thanks for doing this one Ken. Great stuff.
Ken, there is no doubt in my mind that you are an amazing vocal instructor. Now that ending of Dream on, was outside of the box! You killed it man. Awesome!!!
Love ya Ken!! This song has always been a favorite. Hope I can attempt it one day. 🤞 I'm working hard at the course thru today cause I've been neglecting the last week being so busy. So this week I'll double my practice.
I did the YT search just now and there is still nothing of value if you want to learn how to sing Dream On. Only this KTVA clip! There was some bizarre clip where the coach sometimes sang the wrong lyrics and never went through the whole song. Other than that, nothing. I am working it in Gm (2 keys up), which fits my lighter voice type and brings a challenge. I have to hit C6 in the end (Bb5 in the original key), but it's doable! I just did it 30 minutes ago and it actually sounded awesome (not often I say that about my own abilities but tonight I was content with my training). Wouldn't have been able without the course though. It really has brought strength in the sound. Going from A5 to C6 seemed crazy before, but now I do it often. I am probably naturally higher pitched from the beginning, but I also put a ton of work in it. I try to work out 6 days a week. The hardest thing in this particular song I think is to stay around for the entire toggle which in that key goes between Bb5 and A5. It's pretty long if you want to do it as was done in this clip. But I just continue to work on it, trying to conserve the air and without oversinging and we'll see where it lands eventually. 19000 views is measly for such a great tutorial. This clip should have at least 190000 views. So much good information!
Yeah Ken, most of them just Peter Out before finishing. Great job Ken, as Alex would say: "I felt all the malenky little hairs on my plott standing endwise, and the shivers crawling up like slow malenky lizards...".
Thank you so much for demonstrating these vocal techniques... Learning to sing properly, comes so easy with you as the teacher! I believe that God puts gifted people like yourself on this earth to help teach ... and you do an AMAZING JOB! Thank you again!
Ken, You smile even when you listen to your vocal cause youre so into what you do. HAPPY nan. You make me smile big😊 I notice you shape your tongue. I have such a smile mouth... curious. Hoping after time, I will be able to join the academy🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
5:24 it's amazing to hear you talked about the different places of the voice more I practice your teachings more I learn about my voice physiologically and spiritually... I'm almost able to sing the whole song of Whitney Houston "I will always love you" at pitch because of your teachings... there's just the highest note I have difficulty with because I create to much tension when I do it.... I'm a French Canadian pure Quebecois so I'm learning the vowel and I'll get there.... by the way im a baritone :) i can sing pretty much any Elvis Presley. Thanks for everything you do Ken! much love.
Im singing with you at this point🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 love your version🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I did a lot of male vocals in my band such as Zeppelin, Journey, Bon Jovi and more. Female vocals Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane. Melissa Etheridge , Tina Turner...🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 YOU ROCK
Wow. U are amazing!!! I have no singing skill at all and when i sing this song I literally feel like someone knocked me out. LOL Thank you so much for posting this vid!!!
learned so much even from Ken's free content. Never been able to hit so high until I found this channel :/ and it's ridiculously easy once you wrap your head around it :/
My friend put me in a band, he thinks I'm a good singer, I just like music, and I came here to learn this song, among many others, for his band rehearsal tomorrow!! So far, I learned a lot! Thanks, regards from São Paulo, Brasil!
Its so amazing, what you are giving away in your free lessons and my voice gained a lot over the course of years. So how amazing must the actual course be!
Seeing you, hearing you sing the whole song would be as good as your instruction for me. I mimic. Thank you greatly for your videos! Amazing voice, talent and teaching ability chap! ❤️ ✨ 👊 Addendum : "I've found your cover!!!" Wooo hooooo! Most amazing gratitude Ken! Big love ⚡👊✨👊⚡
God i always wanted to do that but i am very shy. 😆 You're amazing. If you can do the Dream on scream you can do everything in singing. You're so cool. Thank you.
Love dream on awesome song it rocks awesome singing Ken great demonstrations once again you always rock and are awesome at singing cover songs you rock at them and know how it's done great singing great demonstrations buddy well done ken you rock 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I always wonder how ken remembers all the melodies and notes of so many different songs he does and there is a LOT of them...ken is a memory genius i believe
I really would have loved to hear of you and your band back in the day .. I would have been a huge fan …/ am a fan now thought better late then never . Right ..444… 🙏🏻 ..
That ending was insane Ken. I can sing this song comfortably apart from the end I just can’t hit those notes. I will keep practicing your techniques and maybe one day I’ll get there. Thanks for all your tips.
Great Job Ken! I love this song, tough enough for a high baritone to sing this, imagine being a bass (like me) trying to hit the octave up section, I could barely get the highest notes in the rest of the song, but now that I'm 61 I have finally developed enough range, with a lot of help from you, of course, to at least attempt the octave up section, for decades, I just ran out of notes!! I could only reach the F on the 13th fret of my high E. The G# and G are just higher than possible for my range, but I can sing the G on the 3rd fret of the low E on the bass, so, not too bad for and old bass singer!
These other coaches never actually sing any songs. It's relatively easy to eek out a line or two, that is not an example. It's another thing altogether to actually grade the quality of the voice on not only an entire song, but multiple songs in many styles with many students demonstrating themselves. This is the only true way to know if a method is actually working or not.
I joined KTVA and own your DVD set from many years ago, really got a lot out of how you broke this down and the different voice levels you use when you describe around the 7min mark. Thanks Ken, would like more videos from you like this.
You know for the first time I heard that song totally different hearing you sing it. Not because you did it bad. Because she did a great. But I could actually understand the lyrics. I've never really looked them up. But by hearing that song hundreds of times over the years I had my idea what said. That alone gives you a million percent reading of how great you soon. I love Steven Tyler's voice I think it's unique I don't know anybody else that sings like that. You can always understand what he's saying. For the first time I actually got to hear that song the lyrics it's beautiful. Happy Thanksgiving by
I love your work. I'm a pro sax player and because of you, I will be recording this song on the saxophone! If you'd like to hear it, when complete, I would like to send it to you. Keep up the good work!!!
I have been practicing this song myself for a long time, but I can rarely sing on the high notes. After this video, I did it. Amazing! Thank you so so so so so much!

Please look into Roland Johansson I wanna understand what he does. I know it’s a random comment but the high note in Dream On reminds me of something he sang in one of his songs.
Everything you said worked great, but I knew from the start that me reaching the high falsetto was not going to happen. My falsetto limit is 2 1/2 whole tones lower!
Love your voice!❤️ absolutely love your content am hoping i can do this song this is going to be a challenge your vocals are so addictive your dream on at the end omg😍😍😍 i can only dream of hitting last high notes❤️
Would you like to share your instrumental? 'cause it honestly sounds kinda weird when I'm trying to sing high part two times to the original one (especially without that big ending)
I would love to hear what you think about Wolfgang Halen. I love to hear you in analysis so it is local. There aren't too many young people out there that I enjoy your singing these days. I think he has a very unique voice and I love it.
