Yet another great song from CCR. If you don't know the words to every song they have you must've had a bad trip or something. One of the best bands ever.....EVER!

I have to agree one of the greatest classic songs ever written. It came out in 1970, the year i was born. A lot of great classic songs came out in this particular year. 1970 was a great year for classic rock songs. So glad i got to come to the world in a year that was great classic rock. I remember sitting at an outdoor cafe on Copacabana Beach drinking a beer, when a man with only one leg managed to hobble over to the patio and began singing this song in English. I don't believe I've ever seen anything more disturbingly and tragically apropos.
5 year plans ( communist USSR) , the "new deal" ( America's version of communism under Rosevelt in the 30's) and the growing "tower" a reference to the first co-ordinated human rebellion against God at the tower of Babel. This song goes way beyond Woodstock and Vietnam.

In the late 60's/70's, we had Credence~~~~~

God Allah only who will stop the rain.
Who created everything
Who make everything happen.
Who all of Us will return to.
