Wow, I knew Benny had a powerful, soulful voice, but didn’t expect this! Beautiful, Benny! I hope you’re singing with the angels and I will see you on the other side. Rest in bliss…🙏🏻♥️

I'm a new fan of Benny's, just having found out who he was after his death. I knew and loved Into The Night but never knew his name. I started looking at a few of his performances from 1980 and went nuts trying to figure out why this superstar never became a household name. So I did more digging and eventually found out about the story Benny recounts here. Or, as he says in another clip from the documentary: "I BLEW IT". I believe he was predisposed to become self-destructive, due to early family life--his father left the family and his step-father was abusive to him. Also he served in Vietnam so I'm sure that left more scars. I'm glad he made it through to live out the rest of his life...this performance is simply stunning. I just got his cd called A Journey Through Time and loving it. Now I really want to see the rest of The Benny Mardones Story!

It'sAboutTheEffinMusic Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and love. It is very sad. The 80’s music scene as I remember and worked in as an intern in college was a complete burn out. Booze and cocaine and enablers ready to “ turn you on” to coke. I did for 3 months because I could get tickets and backstage passes for people. Back then, an after show pass didn’t always mean you would meet the band and you had to have a ticket with a pass. Every worker usually got 2 from the road manager. I met Benny, in 85’ I think? In Buffalo, NY. He was a wonderful person. Peace to you and to Benny’s soul😇

I watched everything I could find on RUclips about Benny, I knew about why his music career stalled out, but I have never heard about him serving in Vietnam. Or about his family life. Thank you for posting this even though it made me sad about him being abused. But when Parkinsons took hold of him, he went downhill pretty badly. Niel Diamond has it now, and that is so sad.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Back in the 80s, I knew" In to the night" would be my favorite song of all time, but I never could see who sung it. If we could of had RUclips back then, I doubt if I would have watched anything else. Once I found Benny on RUclips, I was hooked on him. I bought his CD and played it often, especially when I drove. Then a couple of years ago I saw Benny's performance of this song. Who had any idea he could sound just like Roy Orbison?❤❤❤❤
