I use this kit for more then two weeks , during garrison kitchen renovation. You are right, it is not designed for cooking, since pain on bottom can will burn for good . So , basic idea of kit is to be used as eating kit on march , with field kitchen . It is usually ( despite rather big) warn on belt . When you take it out from pouch , and open it - you return only bottle in pouch ! Than , you attach plastic cup on handle , grab handle from below , with your palm upwards , so with fingers you can grab small cup/lid ! Sob, all 3 vessels in one hand! Cook ( always in rush) will serve you some soup in one cup, main meal in another and salat in the smallest one . Field kitchen will usually boil some water , so troops can wash down cups . In my two-week use , they provide us a small bottles with soap. But , some guys use a “ preservative”- before take food , you just put small 1 kg freezer bag in cup. When you finish , just take bag out and throw away . What we realy like was KFS . Very, very good knife . As a knife , we use it more often than bayonet!

@@outsidertank no probs, sir! Barry Welsh was a big part of my life when I was living in South Wales many years ago, and I still quote it regularly, much to the confusion of my non-Welsh friends. 🤣
Great kit. I have one, also on my top three list. The Swedish M40 and the Russian paratrooper kit are my other two. I’d add the BCB Crusader, if I could afford one. 😊
i needed extra containers so i could boil water and eat at the same time. this kit has everything in one. excellent ideas and explanations. Just ordered one..thanks tank.
Oh no, another system i now really want. I go through these phases of having to buy and try every water bottle, every cooking stove, sleep/ tent system etc. I must learn just to use what ive got😂
I use the old fashioned 2 steel mess tins that fit inside each other, As there is room to put stuff like a small survival tin, toilet roll, matches, anything useful. Always interested in other militaria equipment, I got a Savotta sleeping mat used by the Norwegian Army, pricey but what a bit of kit, you might wanna get one to look at and review. Great video Lee, informative and a little history thrown in. Time for you to get a stealth camp going mate, somewhere where there's lot's of risk of being found 👀
Ohh I'll check that out now. I also have the British army mess tins I think they are the ones you mean, their brilliant for cooking meat in really quickly. Yes I do need to get this camp on brother.
They are good tips/hacks, you'll definitely know where your water purification tabs are. I gotta say a huge thanks, I honestly didn't expect to see my ugly mug half way through this, from the bottom of my heart I thank you buddy, that means a lot 🤗👍🤙great vid I'll look forward to your next one 🤙👍
a general question, how are you finding stealth camping in this heat? would you recommend any extra precautions / or maybe any extra vital supplies to take out in the field during such extreme weathers. thank you for giving you time to bring these videos to us and keep up the good work tank 👍
Hey buddy great to see you here. Staying hydrated is the Biggie. And staying sane with the knats and midges. So extra water is carried and I'm taking vit b12 supplements as bugs hate the taste of your blood with this in your system. But hydration is numero Uno.
Hi Tank great video buddy, I love using my mess tins with my home made 2 coke cans burner works amazing with the purple meths, great way of storing water tablets. 🤘🤘🏴🏴🏴
They are designed to cook in them only the metal cup i bought mine unused and it came with s manual just put some foil under the cup so the botton doesnt get dark
Its a simular idea to what uk and usa forces use, just shape is different. Think they changed to plastic to save weight, not very healthy but does the job.
@@outsidertank I saw Bex bugouts vid where he mentioned not using the plastic cup as a lid, I reckon a canvas strap cut to size and stitched to seat on top of the cook cups lid would be a suitable gasket to prevent it melting. I'll make one when I grab one of the sets and put a vid up 👍
this is a nice set, too bad it is not for cooking, and it also has a little too much plastic for my taste, and square pots are a little bit difficult to clean well
i bought ten of them for a boy scout pack . they prefer army surplus because of durability. kept one for my self . @@outsidertankbought army forks , spoons and knives for .50 a piece. gun shows are where you can get military surplus cheap.

If you bend the fork a little it gives spring tension to the cutlery kit that keeps it from rattling or falling apart.
