Un rêve s’accomplit… Un jardin secret renaît avec ses couleurs luxuriantes et intimistes à la fois, ses parfums enivrants sous les doigts de François-Frédéric Guy. Il enregistre pour la première fois la musique de Chopin sur un piano Pleyel de 1905, sublime instrument restauré aux ateliers des Pianos Balleron. Les pièces réunies dans cet album évoquent le souvenir des partitions qui ont enchanté l’enfance de l’interprète. Il aura donc fallu une longue attente et l’opportunité d’un confinement pour que ce disque se réalise dans l’acoustique splendide de l’Arsenal de Metz. Mais, qu’on ne compte pas sur le pianiste, si passionné par l’univers de la musique de notre temps, pour renoncer à la dimension révolutionnaire de l’écriture de Chopin ! Celle-ci a fondé le répertoire du piano moderne. Pour autant, l’imaginaire poétique de François-Frédéric Guy associe dans sa respiration, fantaisie et rigueur, dialoguant avec un instrument aux timbres uniques et ensorcelants. Ce récital, qui rend hommage aux grands maîtres du début du XXe siècle, fait revivre un art du chant que l’on croit si simple tant la clarté et la fluidité s’imposent avec naturel.

A dream comes true . . . A secret garden is reborn, with its luxuriant and intimate colours, its intoxicating perfumes, under the fingers of François-Frédéric Guy. For his first-ever recording of music by Chopin, he has chosen a 1905 Pleyel piano, a sublime instrument restored at the workshop of Pianos Balleron. The pieces on this album remind him of the music that enchanted his childhood. Yet it was a long wait until he finally took the opportunity provided by the lockdown to make this recording in the splendid acoustics of the Arsenal de Metz. Of course, this pianist, so passionate a champion of the music of today, is not one to renounce the revolutionary dimension of Chopin’s style! It laid the foundations of the modern piano repertory. Nevertheless, François-Frédéric Guy’s poetic imagination combines fantasy and rigour in his phrasing, in dialogue with the unique and bewitching timbres of his instrument. This recital, paying homage to the master pianists of the early twentieth century, revives an art of singing in a way that seems utterly natural, such is the clarity and fluidity of the playing.

夢は、ついに実現のものとなった……。フランソワ=フレデリック・ギィの指先が生み出すシークレット・ガーデンは、内に秘めた豊かな色彩と、魅惑的な香りに満ちている。自身初のショパン作品の録音のために今回ギィが選んだのは、パリのピアノ工房バルロン社で修復された名器、1905年製のプレイエルである。本盤の収録曲は、ギィにとって、幼少期の彼自身を魅了した音楽であるという。しかしながら、ギィがショパン・アルバムの録音を決意するまでには長い歳月を要した。同録音は、新型コロナウィルス感染拡大中のロックダウンをきっかけに企画され、メスのアルスナル・ホールの優れた音響を味方に進められた。現代音楽の熱心な擁護者として知られるギィは、近代ピアノ・レパートリーの基礎をなすショパンのピアノ書法の革新的な側面にも目を向けている！　さらにギィの詩情溢れる想像力は、フレーズを紡ぎながら、そしてプレイエルの名器の独特で魅力的な音色との対話を繰り広げながら、ファンタジーと厳密なアプローチを共存させている。ギィは、20世紀初頭の大ピアニストたちにオマージュを捧げる本盤において、鍵盤を自然に“歌わせる”技法を生き生きとよみがえらせ、明快かつ流麗な演奏に到達している。

Ein Traum wird wahr… Ein geheimer Garten blüht mit üppigen und zugleich innigen Farben sowie berauschenden Düften unter François-Frédéric Guys Fingern wieder auf. Für seine erste Chopin-Platte spielte er auf einem herrlichen Pleyel-Flügel von 1905, der in der Werkstatt Pianos Balleron restauriert wurde. Die auf dem Album vereinten Stücke beschwören die Erinnerung der Partituren herauf, die den Interpreten schon in seiner Kindheit verzauberten. Folglich hat es lange gedauert, bis die Platte in der fantastischen Akustik des Arsenal de Metz zustande kam. Zwar lässt sich der Pianist auch von der heutigen Musik begeistern, doch nie würde er auf den revolutionären Aspekt von Chopins Stil verzichten! Denn dieser ist das Fundament des modernen Klavierrepertoires. Dennoch kombiniert François-Frédéric Guys poetische Vorstellungswelt Fantasie und Strenge in seiner Phrasierung, die mit den einzigartigen und bezaubernden Timbres des Instruments in Dialog stehen. Das Konzert, das die großen Meister vom Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts ehrt, lässt die Gesangskunst so klar und fließend wiederaufleben, dass sie völlig natürlich wirkt.
