Brilliant video man. I really enjoyed how calm and relaxing this was. It's also great how genuine you are when showing your day, I appreciate that a lot!
I'm new to graphic design but it already feels like the right path for me cus i love the calm and creativity it brings. I just subscribed to your channel and hope you'll share more content on this topic
It sounds like you are going down the right path! I hope my channel can bring you some clarity or info. I do both illustrations and graphic design so I will be sharing content in both fields. :) I appreciate the subscribe
Really enjoyed this video, I’m currently in school for graphic arts and it was nice to see someone who feels at their most creative at night, I see so many videos on here abt waking up before the sunrise for the best results and felt pressured to do the same when i feel more creative during the night and having my morning for inspiration, this was nice to watch, great vid man
Every graphic designer who wants to make his life better should have lunch with a good anime. Great video, fellow graphic designer, I especially like your illustration of the character Roronoa Zoro from One Piece. BIG HUG, keep living life with style.
@DavonMcMillian haha i can imagine. Each of my own videos take longer and longer cause i learn new things, aesthetics change, i want to try different transitions or pay extra attention to details and so on, and it all adds up... but the end result is so worth it
Came here to learn about graphic design, stayed here for the immaculate non-youtubey vibez. Thank you for making this and sharing, I aim to uplevel my life in nourishing ways
Dig your work. I had a similar schedule, but im a little older now and sleeping early and waking up early seems to be my pace. Noticed the Dream catcher, normally they go in the window, that way they trap your bad dreams and it burns away in the sun. Great video
Thank you! I hate to say the most expensive one, but it is. The M2 Chip Ipad Pro (2022) is my favorite so far. Its incredibly fast, and has a gorgeous screen. if not that the 2022 Ipad Air! is cheaper and a great travel buddy... GL! :)
Dope man, love this!! I can picture myself doing similar. I'm trying to be more creative. I really wanna try digital drawing on an ipad looks great for designs and artwork. Your videos help! Especially with so many others doing the same kind of thing but we all have our own unique ways. Much love man!
Absolutely! you can definitely do it man. I love drawing digitally but learning traditionally first was important to my process. I still love sketching and painting on paper...but Digital painting has come a long way, and the Ipad is a great tool. I will be sharing full files of art in my Patreon if you ever become interested. :)
Love it! Keep these relatable videos coming. Although I am not a graphic designer, but I do make Shopify stores and apps for clients. My problem is not with getting clients, but it seems even if I get a client everyday it won't be enough to cover basic expenses which a 9-5 would. I guess my question is how do you not just get clients, but also figure out how to make being a freelancer profitable and not end up working 16 hours a day!
Specialize, raise your prices and communicate your expertise. This is a pretty difficult question to answer in a comment, but I can talk about this more in a future video. One quick note, if you are charging hourly, stop. hourly pay rates are lower because the security a 9-5 provides and the generalized type if work. Freelancing is high risk, and specialized, so it deserves higher pay.
I mostly use Pinterest and Instagram tbh, but I have been trying this new site (Savee.it) and enjoying it. I also like to reference magazines like GQ, Thrasher and Hi-Fructose for layout sometimes.
Thank you brother! Thailand is beautiful. 😊 for the meal its a Sweet Chili Chicken Rice bowl topped with Kale Chips and a Fried Egg 🍚! It’s really good! Lots of nutrients and flavor 😋
Thank you! 🙏🏾 Yeaa, Its up there forsure.. LA is expensive, but alot of creatives make a very healthy income here. You have to be really competitive and hungry but if you focus on your craft you can find a means to increase your income fairly quickly.
what is your main source of income bro? you got that huge tablet for illustrating and you got your own place and seem to have lots of time to yourself but you don’t have tons of work or any client work that i can see on IG so i’m assuming you have another main source of income?
You don't post all of the work you make on your portfolio. Your portfolio is something that represents you and works to your benefit to brand yourself and attract the kind of work YOU want to make that hopefully resonates with potential clients. You include your best work, the stuff that represents your style, etc. which doesn't necessarily have to be client work. You also keep it at minimum, too many pieces become overwhelming and repetitive. The Instagram portfolio, the clothing brand, and even this very video are part of branding himself and his skills. It's all work, which leads to clients/income.
My income is very divided, the largest portion of my income comes from my clothing brand @mednokta and client work. Most of my clients are under NDA agreements, I can talk more about this in the next video :)
@@metalbunnie7 This is very true and very well stated! :) Your portfolio is incredibly personal, and if a client wishes to see more specific examples of work, I always oblige...but of course, I want to attract the type of work I enjoy most, even if it at times, isn't the most sought-after 😭lol

very peaceful and i love the routine from the morning to the night time. what kind of computer do you reccomend for doing this type of work?
Anything with enough Ram and a high resolution monitor. I use a M2 Macbook Pro with 4k Dell Monitor.

Abduzeedo, Creativebloq, AIGA (eyeondesign), and Creativeboom are solid options for me. I’ll make a video short going into more details. 👍🏾
