Well done - the mooring is always tricky on your own! My boat is also uncivilised but I expect I'm having nearly as much fun as anyone else. Fair winds

It's a bit embarrassing to hear that the Finns (not forgetting one hero) just watched when you were in trouble. Let me explain, aside from being stupid, it's a cultural thing. It is often difficult for Finns to ask for help, especially a Finnish man wants to believe that he is strong and independent and that he can survive almost everything from a meteor strike to talking to a stranger in an elevator. That is why Finns are somewhat reluctant to even intervene in the problems of a fellow boater who is in quite obvious difficulties, if the situation is not directly life-threatening (compared to for example to sitting next to someone you don't know on the bus). Finns are indeed helpful (in general) if you dare to open your mouth and ask for help. But without asking for help, a Finn will not easily come to help, because the person in trouble (who by default wants to survive on his own) could get hurt when his ability to survive the trouble is doubted.

Maybe that was the case, but there were also many other nationalities there... :)

@@SmallBoatSailing Oh! Other nationalities also know how to just stare and do nothing when a person is in trouble. I've sailed in Sweden as well, and Swedes don't always master this skill. Well, maybe even the Swedes are still learning.
