Ronald is so relatable actually. Yes we all are mad at him but one of his best friends is the golden boy who was born to be famous and the other one is the girl who he loves but also she is the brightest witch of her age. I totally understand what Ron feels. His fears turn into anger and hatred when he wears the madellion that's it.
Golden boy? that's harsh but you must be kidding. I can't relate to Ron at all. I feel sympathy towards Harry's situation. Just to remind you Harry felt awkward with his fame and he didn't want any of it. He was running away from Lockhart who forced him into spotlight. Harry desired to be with his mum and dad. Harry was seeking nothing more but a quiet life. He would have shared his gold. When everyone wanted to shake his hand Harry had no idea what was happening. And when he realized what happened he thought 'well I'm famous but my mum and dad are dead'. He wasn't gloating about how he defeated Voldemort.

But also look from Ron's perspective always under the shadow of his brothers and then Harry and Hermione when he came to Hogwarts. Second hand robes and books while Harry has enough money to spend on whatever he want. Ron is a big fan of quidditch but doesn't have a decent broom but Harry on the other hand gets Nimbus 2000 and then Firebolt. Hermione is just brilliant in all academic and magic purpose , then she gets the attention of a world famous (wizarding) quidditch player. These are just prominent reasons that Ron is bound to be jealous and frustrated.

I really think it's great that Ron bursts out, thanks to the locket, of course. He's been shadowed all his life by his brothers and by his bestfriends. Even when he was made a prefect, everyone was disappointed because they thought Harry would get the position. Even though they're friends, Ron was almost always in the shadow of Harry. It's sad. And the fact that he's loyal to Harry (which wasn't given justice on the movie) although he is almost always compared to Harry.

I think the horcrux turned Ron’s fears into rage and anger. He was scared that the girl he was in love with preferred his best friend over him. He was sad that his mother wanted a daughter and not a son. He was always in the shadow of his siblings,girlfriend, and his best friend. So after years of keeping it inside the horcrux made it so that he couldn’t control the things he said. I don’t blame Ron one bit.

Dursleys wanted nothing to do with him even before Harry was brought to their house. Dursleys and Harry don't consider themselves as family. Dumbledore told Petunia to take Harry in. If it weren't for that Petunia would have never done that. Harry just shown few kind gestures towards them like he sent them Christmas message, saved Dudley and made sure they were safe.

Dursleys don't consider themselves to be Harry's family. They always wanted nothing to do with him even before he was brought to their house.
Well I am not saying that it was correct on Ron's part to walk out on his friends, but what he did was what would be expected from a sane person. Harry's parents were dead and he had nothing to worry about except his own life, and Hermione's parents were also out of danger in Australia. It was Ron's family which was under imminent danger, his family being the biggest blood-traitor family there is and their youngest son being Harry Potter's best friend. It must have broken Ron's heart to see his love staying back with his friend while he was going. I particularly feel sad for Ron in this moment. He wanted to come back the moment he left but he couldn't, for all he knew, his best friend or we could say his brother and his love could have been dead while he was roaming helplessly trying to find out a way to reach them. At least Harry and Hermione had each other but poor Ron was alone.
The only thing that this proves is that harry has suffered more then any of them... See the of pain losing your family is what Ron fears but harry carries that pain on a daily basis.. harry may not have a family to be worried about but the weight of the wizarding world rests on his shoulders as he is the one that needs to defeat Voldemort. This is a war, and one of the reasons why Ron walked out was because he was jealous of harry and Hermione not only because of his family, which is ridiculous. But I guess the horcrux is to blame.
@@mariah990 I don't think Ron walked away just because he was jealous of Harry and Hermione. If you would've read the books, you must remember that before Ron left, they just overheard a conversation of Ted Tonks and Dirk Cresswell about Ginny being punished by Snape for sneaking into his office and trying to steal the Gryffindor's sword. There's this one particular statement, "The Weasleys don't want any more of their kids to get injured". This was the statement which instigated Ron, because he was scared that something must've happened to another of his siblings and he was enraged upon finding that Harry and hermione didn't find this topic of importance but began discussing about other topics. He was angry that they didn't consider his family of importance. So, I think jealousy might've been a factor, but I don't think it was solely the reason why Ron abandoned them.

I think Ron is right that Harry isn't the best when it comes to understanding people. Everyone is supposed to care about his past and that his parents died but he's surprised when he learns what happened to Nevilles parents or that Lunas mother died. He forgets that other people have problems too.
then again without harry his sister would have died in the chamber of secrets, without harry his father would have died in the ministry so without harry 2 of his family members would have died.
also in the order of the phoenix after neville talks about his parents Harry Responds "we going to make them proud"also earlier in the movie when harry feels alone and that everyone was against him which is a common trend in the franchise he meets luna in the forest who mentions her mother and harry apologizes for her loss
It's not that he forgets...he is not unempathetic, it's just that he does not lead with that...after Goblet of Fire, he knows that all paths he takes lead him towards Voldemort (either he gets ready to face it like a man, or he is dragged there when least expected) he can barely have a bit of peace when his thoughts are 100% his own. it's same reason he had to break up with Ginny after Dumbledore died
Harry is like Frodo from LOTR, he carries a heavy burden that almost no one else understands, he struggles constantly with and many would've given up or succumbed to

Imagine that your mum prefers your sister. Imagine that you have a family that is near but yet so far. Imagine that woman you love and defended many times risking the reputation of your family and putting yourself in danger for becoming a blood traitor chose the boy who made you laugh.
Imagine that your mother and father gave more affection towards your friends? I can not blame Ron in this one. The book did not even mention that Ron yelled at Harry like that. The Horcrux was playing with the mind of Ron. He is insecure but in the end, his love and loyalty to Harry prevailed. The three of them are imperfect characters just like all of us.
When he left, I’m pretty sure he took of the necklace and wanted to came back and that why he said “as soon as I left I wanted to come back”

I can’t blame ron at all I’m this scene. He’s been overshadowed literally his whole life and he’s always been so insecure. Harry and hermiome just don’t get it because they’ve both always been the centre of attention. Hermione is the super smart student that the teachers love and she’s known by everyone and Harry is the chosen one and everyone knows his name. And just because he doesn’t want to be the chosen one doesn’t mean he isn’t. Ron doesn’t understand that. He is so used to being the last choice and the horcrux just turned his insecurities into anger he couldn’t control it. And when he asks hermione is she is coming we know that she’s staying because of the mission but ron doesn’t think that because hes just emotional and in a bad mindset he just doesn’t know what to do with himself and you can really tell that harry and hermione just don’t get how he’s feeling at all hermione is scared and Harry is angry and nobody has a clear enough mind to settle it. Once is started there was no turning back it was an emotional mess

I’ve always hated this particular scene because they’ve been good friends for so long & ALWAYS stuck together, they’ve alway been there for each other, although this scene brought out one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve seen in Harry & Hermoni dancing together in the tent ⛺️ an findings Joy in the midst of the chaos ❤️ I’m glad Ron eventually came back & they reunited

See hermione is that type of friend who will always be there for you no matter the circumstances or whatever happens. Seeing her having to choose between her two best friends, and someone who see secretly loves would’ve been more hurtful then Harry and Ron felt arguing. She couldn’t choose because she wanted to help Harry but she also wanted Ron to help.
