Under the influence of the locket horcrux, Ron's darkest moment.
The fact that the horcrux created Ron's darkest moment means Ron is a kind character
When he came back, Ron said that he thought about that things, not the locket, but the power inside the horcrux made his feelings more powerful
The Horcrux only amplified Ron's already existing fears and insecurities. Even if he hadn't been wearing it he'd likely have cracked sooner or later. It's only by confronting them with Harry he's finally able to move on
Ron may have been pushed over the edge by the Horcrux but he's still fully responsible for what he said and did that night
Why is he wearing it?
@@jimmymackinnon8474 Because it was his turn to wear it

This is the moment it was really hard for me to keep respecting Ron as a character, until I really understood how much the horcrux affected him
I was very angry at Ron when I read this part of the book, mainly because of abandoning Harry and Hermione in a very dangerous situation. When I talked to other fans I knew and when they said they felt sorry for Ron because he was under the influence of the locket, I wondered if something was wrong with me. You're not alone in your reaction.
Thanks
Q
Well I did feel angry at Ron .But I understand. But still Ron should not have left Harry and Hermione in that situation.
He shouldnt have left them and he shouldnt have said that, but the weasleys always were a close family and i bet he was afraid and missed them.
He still had somewhere to go and to protect someone...
I have a bff for 14 years now
Im the godmother of her child and i love her like my sisters, but if i had any chance to see my brother again and never see them again, i do exactly know what i would do.
And she knows this. And i think ron was very angry, but honest and brutally right.
I bet harry knew that too...
Fact is, harry doesnt have anyone to loose anymore (family).
Family is different then friends.
Thats why this scene got me love the weaslys more, even if ron was mean, and he was.
I lost my respect for Ron in HP and the The goblet of fire, I mean after 4 years of friendship how he could he suspect Harry? In the books he always seemed jealous and made Harry uncomfortable adding to his worries and mostly making it worse , not understanding that Harry was one of a kind and there is no one like him. I don't care if you tell me it was because of his brothers or he's only human! He saw beforehand Harry's suffering so no matter what I can't forgive him. and then comes this scene ; and what made it worse is that he wanted to take Hermione with him not giving a damn about leaving Harry alone! Even while reading the books, I always felt that Hermione is Harry's true friend not Ron, she was always by his side no matter what . Even Neville did never suspect Harry and always believed in him !
"Your parents are dead! You have no family."
Damn ron
But Hermione and Ron are his family
Mareesh tamizhan it was still a low blow tho. Just as impactful.
Sick burn, Ron!
Harry retaliated by marrying ginny

Harry: ''You were saying?''

“You have no family”
Boy, *YOU* are his family!
In the book, it's Harry to say that his parents are dead. I think that Ron, even in this situation, wouldn't ever say such a thing to Harry
his sister is harry's family his mother is harry's family his brothers are his family hermione is his family ron himself is his family
it was at this moment that ron knew he focked up

Cherry-soda-is-bae 2.0, yeh. It’s heartbreaking when they fight. In the fourth year, this is Harry’s Weezy, his most important person in the world. Here, still is.

Damn, they just made ron so bad . In the books it was Harry who says that his family is dead, Ron never said that, Ron always thought harry was his family, Harry asks Ron to leave twice or thrice and then he leaves, he didn't leave them on his own free will , Ron saves harry from the lake and retrieve the sword of gryffindor, Ron is the most fabulous character in the series
If only the movie makers *cough* didn't do him this dirty
I'll never forgive the movies for the injustice they did to Ron
ikr
Well he was wearing hocrux, it's not his fault.
I cant remember much about the dialogue, but you are skipping something as well.
Ron: "You're parents are safe and all"
Harry: "My parents are dead!"
Ron: "Yeah and mine could soon be too"
Ron didn't react at all on that correction, he just didn't care. So it is not like he was passive in this scene, he was extremly angry and disillusioned.
@@ottokarl5427 he had every right to be angry. harry told him to leave twice, he stayed. its only when harry pulled out his wand that ron left
@@107thinfantry6 I think that is another addition of the movies. In the books, they attack each other physically and get seperated by a shield charm from Hermione. Then Ron lefts and her own shield prevents her from running after him until it is too late
I love when Ron comes back and Hermione looses it like yasss!!!! Tell him!
Oh wow ron and Hermione were not a good couple becouas they fight half the series
Yea I love Hermione she is smart but not afraid to be mean like when she punched Draco In the face
Hunter Dude, it's a common thing for couples to bicker around with each other. Haven't your parents ever bickered around? I know mine have. Many times.
@@huntersolo8322 Hermione and Ron's relationship has been developed since day one and is easily one of the best romantic pairings in a written series.
@@masterpenguin8472 My parents have literally *divorced* because they were arguing so much. They couldn't stand to be together anymore, and they were arguing in the same manner as Ron and Hermione. So yeah. Even J.K Rowling said it was a mistake for Ron and Hermione to be a couple.
1:23 that was a very mean thing to say:-(
At least he didn't say it of his own accord though.
1:20:he yells at harry potter.
Amanda Eklund yeah. The power of the locket that made him say those things.
Harry Potter is mad
Sometimes people say these things under heated circumstances.
When Ron comes back him and Harry all buddy buddy after a few (its cool, its my fault) then they were fine. Hermione on the other hand was like "Oh Hell" she was not that forgiving to quickly
The thing is though, Harry was only easily forgiving because Ron just saved his life. I have a feeling; had that not happened, Harry would've been like Hermione. And while Hermione overreacted a bit I can understand her frustration.
Even if Ron hadn't saved Harry's life, Harry loves him so much he would have forgiven him no matter what. That's Harry. That's why Harry and Ron are better friends that Ron and Hermione would ever be. Leaving the romance aside, if Hermione and Ron had never fallen in love, Harry would have been the only connection between them. Ron and Hermione as friends would have never worked out
lar hjp Hermione had every right to react the way she did, just because Harry didn't doesn't mean she is harsh by any means. Ron and Harry have also had arguments and falling outs before. Both boys are easy to burst out and would need Hermione to keep them together as a whole. Ron and Hermione may fight a lot but most of that are trivial and their major fallouts are mostly out of jealousy, except for the Crookshanks/Scabbers thing. If they weren't lovers, they would still be good friends. The fact that there is romance between them doesn't change that. And also Hermione forgave Ron for leaving, not just Harry.
@@tho951 Physically attacking Ron, punching him on every inch of his body isn't "harsh"? Right.
@@catguy4996 Harry realized he was responsible for Ron leaving. He told Ron to leave three times before he finally left.

Like Lupin said about Fudge in the 5th movie, “Fear makes people do very terrible things.”
Xnet Cascade that's not fear that's the horcrux
C Tom right, but also Ron said that he wanted to make sure that he didn’t want to hear any of his family members over the radio, he has fear of losing them, mixed with anger from the Horcrux.
Xnet Cascade I think at least what he was saying, taking into account that he wasn't himself, that he was mad because they didn't achieve something but I get it
Yeah but Lupin it doesn't change the fact knowing that fudge had no good right to put Harry down and Dumbledore especially because they were the smart Brave wizards that knew about a dark mark when they see one sign of the Dark Lord
How many times has Ron made Hermione cry?
Exactly my thoughts. Realizing as an adult I can see why JK wishes she never would have put them together
Emily W I was 9 when I saw Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2 in the cinema on November and July respectively. Even at that age, I knew Ron and Hermione weren’t meant to be together. I would ignore the actuality of them being together and pretend it was Harry and Hermione. Imagine my bemusement when the author herself acknowledged the mistake and shared the same grief I did. To know JK Rowling herself wished she put Harry and Hermione whilst I wished she did was quite funny to my mum.
Thrice i think? One of them she was jealous (not his fault) and another he was under a horcrux influence
Menna Emam it was his fault the first time when he mocked her after Charms in their First Year. She cried in the girls lavatory, and almost got bludgeoned by that ruddy troll Quirrel let in. Second time was his relentless snogging with Lavender Brown. THAT’S when Hermione got jealous, although I wished she would have moved on from Ron and realised Harry was always more nicer and respectful to her. And the third time was the Horcrux. Honestly, Ron was a massive prat to Hermione throughout the franchise. Although he wasn’t a massive bell end that much in the books. Maybe the directors didn’t like Ron?
I don't know what you guys think falling in love is? Being nicer and respectful doesn't automatically means she would fall for Harry. She was like his sister and he was like his brother. Rowling never said that she wished she had put Harry and Hermione together. Its a misconception that is easily cleared if you read the entire interview. She even says that Hermione requires someone like Ron, otherwise she would turn out the way she turned out in one of the futures in Cursed Child. Ron makes her laugh and be a more lighthearted person far more than Harry ever did. In fact, there are stretches where Harry finds Hermione insufferable in the books. Ron is also the person who saves her in Malfoy Manor. The movies did a terrible job portraying the character because Steve Kloves gave all of Ron's lines and actions to either Harry or Hermione.
At first, that was a real heartbreaker.... Worst thing Ron ever did. Knew he'd he back though!
The horcrux was making him not himself
Spinel SylviaVA exactly
@@x0electricspinel0x Do you even know how a Horcrux works?
@@groot8950 Yes I do. There is also a theory that why the Dursley’s were treating Harry bad was because he was a horcrux.
Y
It’s almost as if they’re trying to make Ron a bad person. He never said “Your parents are dead, you have no family!” to Harry in the books. He never was jealous of Harry and Hermione. He was only worried about his family, annoyed because of the lack of food, and the presence of the locket made it all worse. But he made up for his mistakes, even saying in the books “I wanted to come back as soon as I left.” He duelled with Snatchers and camped on a snowy hillside to return to his friends. He’s made mistakes, as every character has. But somehow, Ron is never forgiven for this and is treated as someone who doesn’t deserve Hermione.
People remember mistakes rather than good things .That's why hermione is most loved coz she hardly made mistakes and the lines were change to make it more dramatic at the expense Of ron
yes he was completely worried about his Family now seeing the 2 he became idk really upset not understanding Hermione should have apologized for that he would feel less mad about it but no he never dropped his bag down once to talk to her before he disappears letting her explain everything that happened he just walked away hurting her feelings

True!

@@ozibad650 He literally doesn’t say that though. How can you be not sure?
When Harry had on the locket and became angry & bitter he felt better the moment he took it off. But when Ron took it off he was still upset and left them. The locket had a huge influence on him, more than it did on Harry & Hermione, not cause of how long he had it on, but because he had more self esteem issues and insecurities. So it came to the point where even if he didn’t have the locket on he was still hurt and finally snapped out of it when he left.
That's right
The Weasleys from the moment Harry met Ron have treated and accepted Harry as if he were one of their own. Harry hearing "You have no family" must've stung, because at this point he probably considers Ron a brother to him.

What is scary is this is just a Piece Of Voldemort Not even the real deal and can this much Damage nearly Destroy a Friendship Between 2 Guys Close as Brothers. Always Felt for Hermione in the Book and Film here she had Horrible Choice Best Friend or the Man She Loved.
Despite the backlash that Ron's gotten from this, he actually had valid reasons to leave Harry and Hermione, reasons that were long time coming. Ron feels that those two have ignored him ever since his injury. Acting like he's some kind of a burden to carry in this mission. And that made Ron feel very inferior to Harry and Hermione. Something that he's always felt regarding those two. And now it all finally boiled over with him. All the suppressed anger and bitterness that he's held on the inside. Harry and Hermione have actually acted like they are above Ron, better than he is. Although unintentionally. Ron leaving was a serious test for Harry and Hermione of how they're going to manage without him. They had to learn through hard way to not take Ron for granted.
This
Umm no?? They never acted they were above him tf are u on they were hunting horcruxes running for their lives.. Ron had always been the jealous & Insecure one added on all the worry for his family + horcrux influence that heightened all his emotions he lashed out & it was a long time coming he needed to confess those emotions for him to be truly prepared for what was coming next. & It was him who immediately he left , realised that he was wrong & tried to come back. 7 years together and he says to his best friend he has no family when he is part of his family? That's so heartbreaking.
This scene is a prime example of what is wrong with these movies. There was no reason to change the dialogue from what's in the book other than to make Ron look so much worse than Harry. In the book, Ron's feelings are completely valid as are the points he's making. Even Hermione is doubting Harry. And it could be argued that Harry is the one that plants the idea of Ron leaving in Ron's head by repeatedly telling him to go and by basically mocking him. Harry is the one who says his parents are dead (while Ron is actually a dressing Hermione about her parents being safe) and the `you have no family` isn't even in there.

Harry stated that his parents are dead and Ron said that his might be dead as well
It's scary how up until 1:09 this scene is the same in the book
0:00 what pepper says to Tony stark and Spiderman
Where?
I watched Part 1 again today. Funny that yall posted this on the same day that I watched the movie.
1:25 STOP FIGHTING!!! 😭😭😭😭 STOP IT!!!!
Hermiones "STOP STOP" BREAKS MY HEART
I love Ron. Even though he's acting like this. We can't judge for a flaw.
I love that there’s not much background music....I mean there’s enough tension anyway....
1:23 That was low, and I'm glad they destroyed that damn locket before it did any more damage to their brotherly bond.
Ron was absolutely right in this one. Plus, he was wearing the horcrux. This scene was done really well. They perfectly adapted it. They made the scene even better
I wouldn't say he was right, he was mean in this one. Yeh he was wearing horcrux but that doesn't mean he was right.
@@zach5438 one thing’s for sure is that before Harry married Ginny Harry legit had no family.
@@zach5438Hermione was right. The horcux has been affecting Ron's personality after wearing it for a long time.
Ron said calmly.
