    I made thee same thing for about $20 worth of material and about an hours worth of work. for 6 years it has been holding up with no accidental falling out. I should have patented it.

    A few years ago i cut a plastic pipe that slides straight into the loader cross brace tube to length and picked up an end piece to fit on the end. It cost me around $5 for the end piece and $10 for the pipe. I put a chain in it. The magnets is a good idea as it sometimes starts sliding out f driving across a slope. I’ll find some magnets and glue the to the end piece.

    I realize that a person is paying for the "IDEA" of this accessory, and not what the material cost is.
    Still, it is more than I could afford.
    I bought some plumbing pipe plugs for my MX-5400. They were just a tad to small in circumference, therefore I could not tighten them enough to stay in place.
    To correct that issue I used some four inch pvc, cut three inches in length, and then I cut it in the middle creating a "slot".
    This worked PERFECTLY!
    The "slot" allowed this sleeve to fit inside the loader arm's inside weld seam, and the plug fit inside the sleeve just right.
    When the plug was tightened inside the sleeve, the sleeve expanded along with the plug, locking things into place.
    Two plugs and two sleeves gave me the FULL LENGTH of the loader tube, AND IS WATERPROOF!
    I also made a hook so that I could reach things that may have slid inside the tube and to far to reach.
    I keep chains, gloves, hand tools, etc. inside this tube which keeps my toolbox available for the more needed tools.

    It's a neat product. I think I might give 3d printing something similar a try. I'm sure it will last just long enough to make me want to buy this :)

    Cool idea yes, but not for $172 for the pair for something that is about $3 in parts and materials

      Where do you find parts and materials for 3$? I just plumbed a bathroom myself and it cost me 3,000$. What pipe are you using to build these?

    Do they stay put and not turn over and spill things out? Seems like a great idea with the newer sizes but my biggest concern would be them potentially sliding out or being pulled out by a stray branch or something and smaller items spilling out.

    • @atlucas1
      @atlucas1 5 месяцев назад +4

      Your biggest concern is valid - I had some sort of field debris (branch, woody stem, idk) pull my left one out while I was brush hogging. Total loss... fortunately I was shipped an extra, but I would home build a PVC pipe solution before I bought these. They make a nice gift if you receive them though... everything stays put unless y'know, what happened to me. "Fortunately" for me it was only rope inside (which my brush hog blade found... good thing it wasn't strong rope).

      @@Mrbink01 I have seen it once or twice but would be nice to have options for carrying/storing tools and chains.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 5 месяцев назад

      A toolbox mounted on the ROPS, or elsewhere is about your only option given the design of the loader there aren't any places to really put anything on it. I haven't really given much thought to storing a bunch of stuff on the tractor usually if I'm working on something I make several trips back and forth to the shop, and then end up with a bucket full of stuff to put back when I'm done....so usually the loader bucket becomes the tool box/carry all for my BX2680. I only have an acre, so it isn't that much of a walk back tot he shop for tools, or whatever I forgot LOL.
