Rode my friends stock Yamaha SVHO yesterday. 1st ride on a jet ski in nearly 20 years. Wow! Crazy impressive. Now watching power upgrade videos. I've got the bug. Great video. Very informative and I like that you pay attention to detail. Old school Master rated automotive tech here telling you to keep up the good work and informative videos so others may learn some skill also. 👍👍
From a 20 year carpenter another tip you can wrap a flag of tape around your drill bit. This can be preset to a determined length of penetration your looking for into the plastic. A somewhat simple way not to over drill into it. Id put it into a vice too
Hi ! Did you work the supercharge on this machine? What is the pitch of your propeller? I have a gp1800r and I forgot to put a 13/20 propeller because with the 13/18 I was hurting the 8500rpm cutoff. I'm missing the retainers, the big intercolator and the cooling upgrade to finish stage 2 completely. Tanks for the feedback !
Man, I wish I lived closer to you. I have a 21 Yamaha FX cruiser SVHO i have everything already just needs to be install and I have the retainer tools, but I am in New York upstate😕
I just picked up a 2021 GP 1800 that had the impeller and wearing completely worn out of it it has 65 hours They were running It's for at least 20 hours with a wearing and impella that was completely shot I only paid $3000 for it What do you suggest I should do for longevity it seems to run fine
I think you forgot to detail an important part, what about reaching super far back to the front of the ski to cap off the factory OEM intercooler hull outlets to drain out the hot water? I think you must cap them off. Also torque specs would be nice and getting the camera right up on all the hose locations and where they go to and from.
I see you didn’t remove the supercharger. About to start the cooling kit install and noticed the Riva directions say to remove it for a 2021GP SVHO. Thoughts? And thanks for a really well done video!
Nice video dude! Just subscribed to the channel. I got a 2020 gp1800r stage 2 RIVA kit with upgraded supercharger shaft at 9300 limiter. What you think I should be doing?
No, the BOV releases boost pressure when you release the throttle to help take stress off the supercharger clutch. Condensation is not something you want to release. Condensation is a normal part of what happens when the air charge is cooled by the intercooler and it actually helps performance by cooling the air charge. So, it’s nothing you want to release. Some companies such as Snow Performance actually make water injection kits which help improve performance
With the MaptunerX stage 2 9200 RPM ecu reflash. The rev limiter is 9200. www.4-tecperformance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=316&products_id=4250
When you take the ribbon out, do you flip it sideways then put the template on and drill it out withe ribbon still in? Then after drilling remove the ribbon? Cant tell from the video. Thanks
Great content Greg, man what a awesome job. 89+ mph wow, super clean looking build. So jealous of the all the hair my brother 😉. Bet shaved 🪒 good for another 1 - 2mph on the big end 🤣🤪😜😘 Billy D
On the intake manifold do you have to drill and tap a hole for the barb hooking up to the BOV? I don't see where to hook it up at or do I need to buy a T fitting for to BOV hose?
This is on a GP. Entirely different grate than the FX. The Riva grate on the FX doesn’t scrub any speed and is definitely worth it. Get Riva parts discounted in the GreenHulkStore.com use discount code “greenhulk” at checkout 👍
For the 2021+ GP1800R stock intake grate will be as good as it gets without losing speed on the top end. The RIVA gen-2 grate will improve rough water hookup and holeshot which matters more to me
It has a yellow(11 pound) spring in it that comes with the kit. I do feel like this spring is too heavy for a supercharger setup and I will be trying lighter springs
Please contact us directly at the store email and let us know the year and model of your ski and we can make some recommendations for you. Sales@greenhulkstore.com
Greg, as always, your work is very clean and well done. Do you ever have a problem with the self adhesive style of zip tie mounts coming lose? The factory ones are usually wet mounted in some adhesive, lots of adhesive.
@@GreenHulkGarage Just ordered one. order confirm ending 79. Decided to buy some stuff for the fzs needs some attention, lately bought nearly everything available for the 21 gpr. Have a safe n great thanksgiving, tell Mr. Shaw I said hello.
you are incorrect , step by step videos are awesome . There is 5 part video on Yamaha. SVHO I followed and fix my bearing and cracked head , I would advise not to go with more than 16 Psi boost , The high fuel mixture temp has causd head to crack by cyl # 2
Boost pressure is not a factor in this heads cracking, nor is increased RPM. These heads crack due to a thin head casting. Even bone stock skis have cracked heads, and even non supercharged skis. Yamaha corrected this issue starting with the 2021 model year.
Of course we want to see the video of how to do the retainers too.thanks for the cooling video 👊🏾
I’ll make it happen

It would be cool if you did a detail video on the retainers, reTiming the engine, and the torque procedure putting it back together.
I’ll keep that in mind on the next install
Yes do springs and retainers install. Would be greatly appreciated
Hi is there a way to make the Riva exhaust more quieter without losing performance

Another great video. Love that Tesla in the background…I added the stealth hitch on mine to pull my 2021 GP SVHO.

What's the factory torque specs for reinstalling bolts on plastic intake manifold ? or where can I find the torque specs ?
How to flush intercooler when separat waterline to the intercooler?
please show us how to do the valve retainers please !!!!!!!!!! thankyou Greg
Nice ! You are starting to convince me to go to a 4 stroke , I'm old school and love me some oil n gas , but . !
I love two strokes, but nothing beats the power of the new supercharged four strokes
Wow, stock charger wheel. What a beast.
Yes it is 👍

Yes the OEM intercooler exit lines must be capped off. Thanks for the pointers 👍

I didn’t need to remove the supercharger but removing it allows for a lot more room to work with. Removing the supercharger is very easy.
That's how to bar the engine over! I hate the idea of bumping the starter for service work
Hey love all ur vids!
u should do riva racing hks blow off valve install video on Gp1800r svho🤘🏼
Nice video dude! Just subscribed to the channel. I got a 2020 gp1800r stage 2 RIVA kit with upgraded supercharger shaft at 9300 limiter. What you think I should be doing?
On stage 2 with the RIVA ride plate I was getting 90 mph at 9150 rpm in absolute perfect conditions.
whats the install price for retainers?
Is the stage 3 very laggy in slow mph? I did a stage 3.5+ from my local shop and it feels like the ski is a complete slug unless it’s building boost
Will you be doing a head stud upgrade? If I'm not mistaken stage 3 will require it.
My GP does have the head stud upgrade. This was a customers ski and I’m not sure if he will or not
Does the bov on the interccoler help purge condensation

how does it crank 9200 ? where does the limiter kicks in?

I pushed the ribbon through just to show how easy it is. I don’t think it matters if you leave it or not when drilling

All that hair causes a lot of drag...might be worth shaving it 😂🤷♂️
Hey I’m just here to help my brother. Some would say whatever it takes for a mph 😘
Superb video
On the intake manifold do you have to drill and tap a hole for the barb hooking up to the BOV? I don't see where to hook it up at or do I need to buy a T fitting for to BOV hose?
Yes, always drill and tap the manifold. You cannot tap the MAP sensor hose with a Tee fitting.
You said that the Riva intake grate cuts a little bit of top end..I’m not sure if I should put one on my 15 FX ..Worth it ?
This is on a GP. Entirely different grate than the FX. The Riva grate on the FX doesn’t scrub any speed and is definitely worth it. Get Riva parts discounted in the GreenHulkStore.com use discount code “greenhulk” at checkout 👍
How did you keep tension on the timing chain to keep it from falling off the crank gear when removing the cams?
Tension with a zip tie
What grate u recommend that won't take top end speed off?
For the 2021+ GP1800R stock intake grate will be as good as it gets without losing speed on the top end. The RIVA gen-2 grate will improve rough water hookup and holeshot which matters more to me
What’s the secret in hitting 89mph ? Will a 2018 gpsvho put out the same numbers with same mods ? I think I’ve seen and heard 86
Yes a 2018 will. As advertised, it will run 86 @ 8600 RPM. This ski was over 9100 RPM which is why it’s achieving 89 MPH
Great work as always thank you all the info
Thanks!
On your blow off of what PSI spring are you running
It has a yellow(11 pound) spring in it that comes with the kit. I do feel like this spring is too heavy for a supercharger setup and I will be trying lighter springs

@@GreenHulkGarage What brand and source, I'll give them a try.
The brand is Gardner Bender and I bought them at my local True Value hardware store.
Stock supercharger?
Yes, this is just stage 2 mods. We will be going stage 3 soon. Stay tuned 👍
@@GreenHulkGarage heck yeah, throw that Riva cam in too.
What RPM were you spinning?
Between 8900-9000. Using the “Stage 2 9200 AGR” MaptunerX tune
What boost with the stock wheel. 17? I know 8400 is about 13.5 stock.
Bro. Where are you at I miss your videos 😢
What pitch on the prop?
Out the box 13/18
Awesome
I can see that 90 mph brings a smile easier than 72 lol Can you do all these mods and still keep factory exhaust?
90 is much more fun than 72 😁 yes you can do these mods on the stock exhaust for an ultimate sleeper
I’m actually putting my stock exhaust minus 1 sound damper the drone is just not enjoyable waste of 300 bucks !! Happy thanksgiving Greg …. Nice video
