I converted a box truck into a permanent living space (going on 4 years now) and have two primary suggestions/requirements: 1) Use good insulation. As you have means I would suggest aerogel as it is both thin and effective. 2) Have two roof fans to effectively circulate air inside the van. My setup only has one and while it can be a little effective, having two would be *loads* better. Beyond that, just include what you want. Good luck in your journey.

I lived in a custom van back in the 80's Travel from NYC to L.A. then to Miami as musician (with my drum-set). Good to hear Vans are back! Good luck on your adventure! But be safe.
Oh man!! You are living my dream! As someone lowkey obsessed with campers, I have questions. Like what's the toilet situation? Just going to do it all out in nature or...? Also what about water? Is there a water system (like grey water?) or like a hose? Not sure where you are planning to camp, but having some water, even if it's not for drinking can be super useful in washing your hands, washing off items, etc. Now I'm not sure if this is the final state of this saving some tweaks but, I have a small suggestion. You may want to consider closing those top shelves off with soft closing cabinets doors (they are strong enough to stay open, and stay closed even with force pressed against them) and adding more brackets in between. If they are left open like that, you will either have to stack soft things on top (like clothes) to the brim, or keep it low or else when you are driving, things will come out or be bumping around if it's not either secured or filled to the brim that it won't move around. You'll also want to consider having either a curtain between the driving area and the living area, or something to block out the driver windows or it will get awkward pretty fast. I'm also wondering why the solar panels aren't mounted on the roof? It's a pretty standard thing to do, so I'm just curious if there's a reason they aren't on the roof. Otherwise, cool camper. Love the blackout window cushions! Definitely stealing that for my own build.

Hope you've been able to have some fun travels in that awesome van! I drove across the US three times in 2019, as well as up and down the west coast, joining protests along the way. Not in a van, just in my Camry Hybrid. The cool thing is I could work remotely using my laptop and my mobile wi-fi hotspot, and so my co-workers didn't even know I was on the road. I had been working remotely since 2000. Sometimes I would sleep in my car outside a 24-hour establishment, sometimes grab a hotel, or failing those two options, just drive through the night and take short naps during the day. My go-to was to look for a 24-hour Walmart in a nice area, where they had 24-hour security as well as local police making the rounds. I was worried the first time I spent the night in a Walmart parking lot, thinking there would be alcohol and fist fights. But no, it was all just people like me sitting in their cars looking at their phones, lol. I stayed alert on the long drives by hunting for geocaches along the way. Fun times. The pandemic temporarily put an end to my travels and my geocaching. I'm about ready to hit the road again in 2023. I do minimal planning and no packing. Just get in the car and go. Heck, nowadays you don't even need to worry about having cash.
Brie's glasses look great, just gorgeous. 😍 and I love how the tuned van has been. Not even the cars that appear in the fast and furious movies turn out so great. 😃👍
I recommend talking to or watching Holland Roden. She played Lydia Martin in Teen Wolf. She recorded her process of building her van during COVID and it was really helpful. She didn’t know much about van life and shows the process from the view of some starting from scratch.
