Imagine this. The directors prepping her for endgame because she shot it before captain marvel where she understands her character. So they tell her “you’re the strongest avenger and you should be quite blunt and humorous because you forget about human culture and how to express emotion.”
So she does this and goes in filming with this attitude and is happy because she’s a strong female but people hate on her because they say she’s too feminist or she’s too sarcastic or too blunt when it’s literally how she was told to play her character.
But she takes it into political speeches...
Just because you have to portray this in movies doesn't man you be that in real life.

I get all of that. You guys are absolutely right. She shouldn’t take that into real life. But I’m talking about how people hate her character in the movie because of all of this. Some people say “thank god she only gets 2 minutes in endgame” and I don’t understand why. Her real life attitude is wrong but I’m talking about why people are hating on her acting and the character that she plays

I think it’s that sometimes she doesn’t think before she talks so it sounds wrong. I’ve seen that interview and I still love her. I personally think that she just gets so nervous that she seems like she has no humor or doesn’t realize something is sarcastic, but if you look at interviews with Ellen and Jimmy she is more carefree. first of all, i love brie larson, i find her pretty funny and just an all a round amazing and nice person. she is a great actress and I’m so glad she was cast as captain marvel.
that being said, ive seen a ton of hate and i just think it’s super unwarranted.
i definitely think she just uses her confidence and humor to mask insecurities of being brand new to the universe. i mean she has a big role in endgame and hasnt been mentioned before april so it has got to be difficult playing alongside the original six plus everyone who got to know eachother in infinity war. she definitely doesn’t think she’s better than her cast members
and plus, she’s constantly being compared to gal gadot and wonder woman. i love them both and don’t see the need to compare or bash either one, the world needs more than one female superhero first of all, and second they’re completely different woman, characters, stories, universes, and companies. you don’t hear people comparing aquaman to thor so why compare the two women?? take a second and just think about how that makes both brie and gal feel? to be compared to each other and scrutinized over and over again by the media and by their fans.
The main reason is that she is very arrogant with the rest of the cast, mainly with Chris Hemsworth and Don Cheadle. She also tends to force a very feminist and anti men narrative.

@@TommyTonk okay so there are two possibilities here. First one being that you specifically searched and clicked on a video with a name of someone you don't like in the title. Second being that this video showed up in your recommended, which is based on similar videos you've watched. Both possibilities make it seem like however much you may dislike her, you like her enough to put some effort in to view content of her specifically 🤷🏼♂️
People decided to hate her from day one and that's a fact. Say what you want but I've seen the comment section for the Captain Marvel trailers and so many were incredibly sexist (from saying she shows no emotions, she should smile more, her body looks bad in the costumes etc). They disliked the movie based on 2 minute clips and made up their mind that it's gonna be bad and flop. I'm guessing some of this got under Brie's skin so she was more defensive during the press tour than she normally would and got labeled "aggressive feminist". Same with the infamous Wrinkle in time comment. Was it awkwardly worded and badly delivered? Yeah. Did she have a point there? Also yes. Then people actually saw the movie and had to admit it was pretty good and that her acting was fine but they already hated her for the stuff she said because of them. And sure, she didn't have to respond the way she did but she is human and it hurts to not get the support you hoped for.
there's plenty of reasons to dislike someone, especially her and what she says on camera, it's not just because she's a women and all males hate women. people can dislike someone for more than just their identity, they judge them for their insides. even audience viewers who saw the movie claimed those things, idk about the 3rd tho. she's a claiming feminist and an advocate for equality with this character, yet all she did, for anyone she was advocating for, was raise money to force young girls to watch her movie around the globe, a.k.a. trying to fill in more seats for the first day for the box office. alita: battle angel were raising money to give kids cool ass prosthetics. i'd choose loving rosa salazar over this pretentious, ignorant feminist, brie larson, any day.
A lot of women hated on her as well but that doesn't justify their behavior. The thing is, you hardly ever see this reaction for male actors who play soldiers, medics or other roles that require them to be emotionless at moments. And while I agree that Rosa is a great role model and what they did for the kids with Alita is amazing, movies are first and foremost made to earn money so I find it silly to hate on Larson for being in a movie that had a worse marketing team. I'm not even a fan of hers, I just love the character and was excited for the movie so it was pretty sad to see people actively fight against it because of what? A few badly worded comments taken out of context used over and over again and the fact she didn't smile? The bottom line is, nobody asks you to "love" her over Rosa, just don't bully her over something you wouldn't even think of if someone you like did it.
@@rvsone1629 i haven't seen the movie myself, so idk how much she does or doesn't smile in it. i do know that many audience viewers said she didn't have that heroic feel about her like we get with Captain America or Thor. but i do agree with you there, i do try to separate the character from the actor, since it would like relating Johnny Depp to every character he portrayed if i did that lol. and i don't think her marketing team did bad at all, but it just comes off a little insincere. when we know we're gonna see Brie Larson in further MCU movies, and this is the real first controversial MCU actor in the spotlight because all the other MCU actors know not to put their two-cents in about this stuff for the sake of the longtime comic fans. and if i ever did meet someone like Brie Larson, depending on the environment, i would call them out if they made those weird progressive statements, out of context or not (even if they were out of context, it really wouldn't hurt Larson's career if she just apologized). but thank you for sharing your opinion, and replying respectfully. appreciate it
