You never cease to amaze my friend! I hope I get to chat with you about SEO or rather brand building because I too find SEO a good acronym to explain the concept but what we should all strive to achieve is far beyond the scope of SEO. It should be a contribution to the world wide web and the society itself. Hopefully, one day we will get to fight miscommunication, educate and inspire people to dig deeper in any and every vertical like you have done.
The hours and effort you have put is truly unfathomable and believe me when I say I have respect for very few people in the industry.
Lastly, I need you to know that you are a major source of inspiration to me. Patents felt like a maze at first but they quickly became the one and only source of information. No more guessing, no more believing unsubstantiated claims and self-proclaimed best practices that have no impact or are downright nonsensical.
I am helping to reshape the PR and backlink department at the agency I work and Bill's contribution has already helped me find direction and distinguish meaningful information but I wouldn't have done it without your presence. I am still in my infancy when it comes to the way you do things and my SEO journey (almost 3 years in).
Thank you so so much for everything you do and the knowledge you share. It keeps me going when people question my curious nature.

Insane video, I've been away from SEO for years but decided to slowly come back. Thanks to your videos, it's helping me alot to catch up lately. One thing I understand when I design the website I make sure that I put less request on server side by even not making social media accounts links and icons dynamic but static which can be edited by layout tab not the theme settings. Making category based theme and requests, custom taxonomy, mostly static and dynamic part is well coded used to never fail me.

    Just a few questions:
    1) what if a page uses pictures extensively and thus creating lots megabytes to load. Let’s say you have a car article and you need to show a different pictures of it, each picture is around 400 kilobytes and you have like 60 pictures, how would this affect the SEO and what to do?
    2) what is the best image format? PNG, jpeg, or other?
    3) can the same good results be achieved with Wix hosting. Does it matter for google whether it is Wordpress or Wix?
    4) you talked about the hashtags. But where do you put them in? In the article or code?
    5) what do you thing about being present on Wikipedia? That is creating a page on Wikipedia about your site? Will google treat it as a spam? Will it help?
    6) what do you think about Wikipedia link building?

I've also seen the 'tolerance' first hand, I've had an old website ranking top 3 for many competitive terms for 5+ years which if I'm honest is pretty poor in terms of design, content etc and I've even made a few bad mistakes over the past few years (page titles, thin content) which haven't really changed rankings.
My newer site targeting the same keywords :) had a very small issue in terms of a new low quality page (didn't check outsourced content) and that seemed to affect the whole site drastically. Once you're up, its easy to stay up :)

    • @TopicalAuthority
      @TopicalAuthority  Год назад

We are using AI and content scaling for years, and it works well. But, using semantic content networks with trained authors and expert editors is better than AI. If you have expertise on a topic, it would be better to use your own words, and AI can help you with faster researching, or content construction with minimum necessities. Try to use lesser known LLMs so that you can be unique.

    (here are my questions)
Hi. I'm excited to learn more 😊.
I have a question, and I don't know if it makes sense.
What is the best URL for a web post:
    *food*fruits*cleaning
    Or
    *how-to-efficiently-clean-your-fruits
And is this important in the matter of Semantic SEO? And what if there isn't a recognized Entity for "food"? Even in the google knowledge base or Wikipedia.
Sorry, actually, it's a series of questions, lol.

    • @TopicalAuthority
      @TopicalAuthority  Год назад +3

      It is important.
There are some concepts that I didn't explain or include in my case studies:
      - Topic Distillation
      - Sub-site Retrieval
      But, in short:
      - Do not repeat the same word inside the URL.
      - Always use shorter URLs.
      - Use aligning Information, and Website-tree
      In your situation:
      - Use taxonomy of entities, as in the first example.
      - If the context is "cleaning", then "efficiently cleaning your foods, or vegetables" will be needed to be processed at some point.
      - Take your context, from the noun, or from the predicate.

Thanks for your kind words, brother.
Firstly, having multiple websites or having multiple webmaster accounts on multiple search engines are helpful here.
If there is no update on Microsoft Bing, check your website's Microsoft Bing performance first. If Bing has shown a similar direction, it should be technical, if not, it should be update-related.
If you have multiple websites in the same industry, and if others are not affected, it will be changing your status here too, which means the infrastructure change will be effecting again.
The NextJS might requiring a longer time for rendering the web page completely, or it might be changing or affecting the crawl scheme the website use on Google-side. Check your log files to see whether Google still hits the old resource URLs, or not. I believe these would be helpful for you.

      Hello John,
If you have limited budget, you have to choose a brand name that gets some certain amount of traffic as evergreen, and you should be using "templates", and "patterns". Entity-types require certain types of exact questions, for certain attributes, the answers are templatic too, you can use these templates for speed, accuracy, and higher coverage in a shorter time to give a re-ranking triggering signal to the search engine. And, do not publish your content network around the broad core algorithm updates.

      Hello Koenjah,
There is a section here that explains the "topical border" concept. www.holisticseo.digital/theoretical-seo/topical-authority/
      Your answer is there.
But to give some suggestions here too:
      - Topics are not collections of questions.
      - Questions are coming from contexts, not topics.
      - Topics are collections of entities, and their attributes.
      - Attribute connections create ontology.
      - Entity types create taxonomy.
Use taxonomy, and ontology, together with query semantics. To understand query semantics: ruclips.net/video/bv9Bzufci74/видео.html&ab_channel=KorayTu%C4%9FberkG%C3%9CB%C3%9CR check here.

@@TopicalAuthority Thank you for all the experiments you do and all the information you share. It's fascinating.
You are making my brain squeak. It's been a while. This subject is fascinating, but I need help wrapping my head around it.
"Topics are collections of entities, and their attributes."
So an entity is a subject? Like an apple or pear. So we create a topic around these entities. "Fruit".
      Fruit is awesome
Apple: red - round - smooth skin - stem - seeds.
      Pear: green - pear-shaped - smooth skin - stem - seeds.
We insert these words naturally in an article and get some extra points on our credibility score.
The more attributes in order of importance, the better our credibility score. Even if there is no search volume or ranking, Google will trust us and consider ranking other related content more because we have proven we know our shit.
But then we also create a different context for the article subjects. And then also talk about the attributes in a different context. Like an article about fruit's nutritional value. Or an article about how long fruit takes to grow. And then talk about seeds in a different context.
      - seeds have this nutritional value.
      - seeds take this time to germinate.
And by doing this, you can reprogram the ontology of an entity.
But how the fck do you organize this? It's tooo much!

    • @ahBistodotcom
      @ahBistodotcom Год назад +2

@@TopicalAuthority Maybe I get it more now.
You create content with different context about an entity. Then you will use attributes that are relevant for that context. And by covering many different contexts, you will try to cover every attribute of an entity. This way you create an ontology. But the main thing is that you create many different contexts and include attributes in order of importance for that context? And the main main thing is also that you must create a complete ontology, by covering every different context.
Would it be good base to use personas in a different context? Like thinking about what's important to farmers about apples. Or thinking about nutritionist interested in apples.

How do I find topical gap of my competitors?

    • @TopicalAuthority
      @TopicalAuthority  Год назад +1

      Hello Syeed,
Topical Gap is the gap between contexts inside a website's content. If your competitor doesn't have proper semantic closeness between their titles, or focused sub-topics, you can create content for those areas to be a better candidate source to be ranked.
To find these topical gaps between your competitors, or competitors' own content area, you should use your own knowledge domain expertise, or try to use the understanding of query relevance distance with search behaviors so that you can have better ranking but more specific web pages. Start from scraping their sitemaps, please.

      Hello Ana,
If you mean WordPress Website Tags, no. There is no value that you can get with just grid-like link lists.
You should use contextual articles for grouping your articles, and distributing the internal links.
About the pagination, "www.holisticseo.digital/technical-seo/pagination/" this is a guide that we have written, why don't you check it?

I have an arabic website in a big niche with about 36 topics (some categories has been covered) .. most of them was published during 05-07-09 months of 2022. (GSC data: about 100 clicks a month)
After seeing your topical authority strategy in general, I found that I need about 400 topics to cover all the the niche semantically and contextually.
So to achieve the best and fastest results with this website, do you think its better to audit previous topics and then publishing all the other 365 topics at once. or better to create a new website and start publishing at scale with the new strategy!!

Scrape the most authoritative websites sitemaps.
